Captain's Blog Day 1

Looking at myself today, it is hard to believe that in high school I beat the fitness requirements of the United States Navy. I wanted to join after I graduated and later on become a Captain (hence the name) but I was rejected because I am pigeon toed and have asthma. Since my lifelong dream was crushed I became depressed, ate, and became more sedentary as I focused on my studies. I'm out of college now, and I've realized that just because I like the Navy doesn't mean I have to weigh as much as a ship. Hmm... sounds a bit sad. I'm no though! My uncle who served in the Navy always used to say that losers make excuses, winners make plans. My plan: eat less, move more. Get my Navy body back! Great Plan! Although, John Lennon used to say life happens when we are busy make plans. Life if a challenging thing to work around, so much to do. Then again it is also said that we should eat to live not live to eat (i think the Navy may have rejected me because of ADD: ) Ok... new plan: Stop with the damn quotes!

Orders for day 2: Do a complete, self administered health assessment. Enjoy last day of palatable freedom. Stock Galley with healthy chow. Begin basement conversion to suitable exercise environment.

Now, as they say in the Navy: Full speed ahead!

Hi!! Sounds like you've got just the right kind of "regimental" mind to make it work for you!!! Good luck :)

Captain's Blog Day 8:

My journey has had a slow and agonizing start. I have not reported on anything since my equipment malfunctioned the day began. The basement renovations are stalled because my trash cans are full and my borough won't pick up on Martin Luther King Day. My health assessment was a bit disapointing, but then again that is why I am here. It consists of Weight, measurements, bloodpressure, and my "real age" according to . The real age may not be the most accurate of tests, but it will be an indicator of progress. I plan to take the real age test at the start of each month.

Now the moment we've all been waiting for....
