cant do dumbell flies properly! :(

i know u start with your palms faced together, beside each other with your arms straight ... then you bring them down into a "W" position ... then bring back up puling your chest together as u go back up ...

but i dont know if i should keep the dumbells close to my side or farther out .... and it feels sketchy when im bringing them in and up .... it almost just turns into a dumbell press.

can ne one help with some advice ... i know i just need to practice .. but i just want to make sure im gettin technique down first so i can learn properly.

and also ... what is a superset ?
thnx

dont bother with flys...they are inefficient because they isolate your pecs instead of bringing in your shoulders/triceps into play when you benchpress. Always aim for compound exercises when choosing.

I believe a superset is a set where you use a small weight and go high reps till failure?

hm why would flies be insufficient, you need isolation excercises too you know...

i'll give an exaple of a superset

10 reps bench press, then NO rest, and 10 flat flies

best method for me is: first excercise compound and second isolation

hope to have helped

cut and paste

Conventional weight training is done with "straight sets." A straight set is performed by doing a series of repetitions; 8-12 in a row for example, then stopping to rest for a minute or so before doing another set. A superset is an advanced training technique where you perform two exercises in a row with virtually no rest in between.

i agree with ethan01 about flyes.
