Cannon's Journal

Cannon- I'm happy to read that your flu aches have given way to something else. I had the flu this year and it was a major b*tch. I hope your doctor's appt. goes well and that you start feeling 100% very very soon:)

My current weight isn't bad. I'm up about 13 pounds from where I was. I'll take that. It means that all this time of not weighing I've been making progress. Now that I'm working out I'll have more progress. I was still a bit sore today so I will be working out tomorrow. I soaked my muscles this morning instead and I am feeling better except in my thighs. Tomorrow will be an aerobic day so it won't be a huge issue. Great to see some familiar and new faces around here. I can't tell you how much this reduced stress situation at school is helping me do what I need to do. I wake up without dread and that makes it a lot easier to work out.

Alarm set for 4:40
Snoozed until 5:07
Gym by 5:25

Ok I'm starting to get in the habit. I think it takes me about 2 weeks to start a habit, but I'm feeling good to be doing this again. I need to plan for this weekend. I'll be trapped in my apartment for the entire day of Sunday when the South Side Irish parde (second biggest St. Patrick's Day parade in the world) passes down my street.

Food has been a bit high -- About 2200 calories the last 2 days, but I can bring that down. Today is a bit tougher because I go out to a bar/restaurant with my friends. No drinks for me and hopefully a sensible food choice. I think I can make my ticker weight in a month and then keep that momentum going.

It is great to hear you are getting back into a habit Joe - Of course you can do this...we will see your ticker weight in no time:)

So gym 4 times this week. I'm planning to go tomorrow since I'll be trapped inside on Sunday. I think I want to incorporate some walking like I did last year when the weather gets slightly better. Nothing wrong with some extra exercise just because its fun (and I know I could go now, but it wouldn't be as fun as it will be in a week or two).

it's a gorgeous day out there right now and it's supposed to snow this weekend - never put off til two weeks from now what you can do right now - get your arse out and walk.. :D

/me cracks whip :D

Right now I'd love to, but in 2 minutes this class will be full of 7th graders :). I put that disclaimer in for you and Wishes depending on who read it first. When it gets to be a bit more Springy I'm going to walk a bit more something I stopped doing when I started hitting the gym.

It's great to hear you're making progress towards better habits. Hey if you do it long enough and keep posting it here you might eventually poke me enough for me to finally make that valuable move to morning exercise. (Jkg, it would take a pointy stick and red hot at that ...) Good for you though, it's a big step and I bet it's making you feel better already - started it's own little positive feedback loop. :)

Positive feedback loop--good way to put it. Gym is morning, but walking a lot of time is right after school. Saturdays are more of a hike in the morning.

Hey Joe, here's the stream source for cricket.

By all means google 'sopcast safe site' if you feel at all uneasy about it. Many warebuster sites have given sopcast a clean bill of health. It is a Mcafee Green Site, too. Always download off places you trust like CNET or Download.com.

The stream machine is very simple to use (assuming you have broadband). Once you dl the player, sign in under anon. no password needed, no emails needed.

Click on the 'Live Stream' tab, scroll down to the bottom of the list and that's usually where the cricket matches are hosted. It's simple place to navigate and should only take a very short time for you to figure out they do's and dont's.

Day 4 of a England/NZ test match gets under way today at 4:30pm EST and there will be a few channels carrying it.

I usually open up a browser at to read along with the stats. cricbuzz is usually 1 or 2 bowls ahead of the stream.

Anyway, I hope you can make use of the info I gave you. You can now enjoy cricket again - FREE !!

Hope all is going well with you, man.

How was the parade?

Saw lots of sweet young things in my neighborhood all dolled up in their kiss me Im irish for the day shirts -heading to the southside... :D

Did you actually leave your apartment and go a huntin' :D

This weekend was rough. Friday, I found out that one of my best friends at my old school got fired by the pinhead principal. The principal was jealous of my friend who was a leader in the school and instead of using her abilities was threatened by them. I was smart getting out before that principal came in. My friend is an amazing teacher, but now will have a major black mark against her. A bunch of us when to cheer her up at another friend's bar and as a result I ate and drank way too much. Saturday was scarcely better though I don't know why. Sunday was a return to sanity, but then I got so annoyed by all the drunks around me that I went to my friend's bar to avoid them. It actually was so bad that going to the bar was an improvement. Now, I have to make up for it. I'm off to the gym after I get done staying after to give a Constitution Test retest.

Hey Mal--Nice timing. I've never seen it so bad. The women did nothing for me--some cute faces, some nice bodies, but girls were way past the fun drunk and into the about to puke on themselves stage. They were trying to kick in my neighbor across the hall's door because he was having a party and passed out locking a bunch of people outside. There were about 5 cases worth of beer cans in the hall this morning.

Cannon- As long as you always attempt to get back on the horse you can't beat yourself up for one weekend. I mean, this is life and sometimes you're going to want to go out with friends and eat all the yummy (yet bad for you foods) and enjoy yourself. You can't be perfect everyday (see Mal for tips, though;)), and better to make healthy choices three days a week than none. It's all going to come out in the wash if you don't give up on where you're going. I hope your class is a little less rowdy this week... man, you have your hands full!
