The cruise was beyond wonderful. I ate a lot, but I never went back twice at a buffet. There was more sit down dining and I ate amazingly well--worry about the calories when I returned. On Saturday afternoon I was sitting out in the Carribean sun reading a book as people brought me delicious tropical drinks. This was only interrupted by occassional dips in the ocean.
I had two sessions with an Australian trainer named Jaime. He has me rethinking a bit of the workout I've been doing. I'm going to talk to some of the workout experts on this board about it, but I have been doing a lot more reps with a lot less weight. For instance, with presses I've been doing 3 sets of 20 pound dumbells with each hand. He had me doing 15 reps at 20, followed by 12 reps at 30, follwed by 10 reps at 35, followed by 6 at 45 pounds. He's bigger on doing less reps with more weight.
I also got a body composition test done. I am at 39.5% body fat, my basal metabolism is 3131 calories per day, and I have 226.9 pounds of lean body weight. A good target for me would be 273.4 pounds and a boy fat percentage of 17.0.
To me this indicates that like my chiropractor said, I probably am about half way to my goal. There was a lot of good news and I feel reinvigorated because I have a much more managable target and I'm ready to rededicate myself to getting there.
