Cannon's Journal

Well the job is mine if I want it. I have to weeks to decide. Oh I hate doing this lol

I'd dedicate a walk every night exclusively for the thinking aspect of the job change, what a killer combo - so busy thinking, you'll forget you're walking and having the perfect solitude to think things out in high definition.

Ah yes, my best thinking comes from walking!

Best to you during the decision process!

Congrats on the job offer!!! Just think what you would like to be doing that you can't do now...does the new job offer any of that? Or, a better work environment for you?? Keep us posted!!

No walk this morning--we had storms. Hopefully, I can get it in after work. The new job is a purely lateral move. The school is about as similiar as the one I'm at now as you can get. However, this let's me avoid the entire year-round school schedule mess and what appears to be a fairly incompetent principal once the current one retires. The most obvious drawbacks is leaving my friends from my current job and having to bust my butt to prove myself at a new place. Neither of which would bother me if it was an upward move, but its hard to do for a sideways one.

Im sure you will figure it out - two weeks gives you lots of time to think abt it and change your mind lots...heres to making the right decision :D:D:D Have a good day Cannon

Well I didn't get a walk in today :(. I've been busy and it has been raining non-stop. I did do a pretty intense 6 minutes on the treadmill, but I just can't motivate myself on it the way I can walking outdoors.

Well hopefully you're doin good with your food and still coming in low. Soon we'll be inundated with nice weather. I'm bummed because my new umbrella turned out to be a piece of shit. I was walking with it inside out and about 4 out of 6 spokes sticking out.

Keep making it important to walk, and pretty soon you will be waking up with this drive to go for a walk in the morning. It's an awesome feeling!!!

Hey Cannon,

Congrats on the job offer, its nice to be appreciated like that. And even if you decide not to take it, you'll be so much more in tune with what you want in the future. Anyway hope you find the answer that is right for you.
And awesome with the walking, its a great routine to have and it really make you clearheaded and a good time for thinking.
Anyway, thank you for stopping by my diary, Have a great walk!

I've been really good this week, but the scale is not cooperating. Stupid scale. Oh well, I figure I'm going to go out and do the best I can this week and forget about weight loss and concentrate on lifestyle instead. I think that's usually a better idea anyway.

take your measurements and use them as a guide as well - it's more about the number on a scale on any given day -and as long as you're doing what you're supposed to be -those numbers will move...

It's been raining here a lot too. I like your bat-ticker...the way it's chubbier on one end and slim on the other....verrrrrry creative. Did you choose your name from the television show? I loved that guy! Cannon, Columbo and Rockford Files. I used to work with a woman who dressed and smoked like Columbo. Her lapels were always flipped inside out, and her smokes hung out the sie of her mouth and spewed ashes wherever. LOL

Hope you have a great Saturday Cannon. You are doing great.

Thanks Too Skinny. I chose the name from the old television show. I used to work at a television station that showed 20 year old Cannon reruns and for some reason I thought it would be appropriate for a handle in this forum. The rain stopped and I was able to go out on the nature walk again today. I made sure to push myself to go a little further than I did last time. I am wondering if I start training now if I can be up to 4 miles by May 15th. There is a breast cancer walk that day and my school has a teacher out after being diagnosed. It would be a great cause to train for.

Keep on walking, Cannon! You're doing really great, and eventually it will become a habit, and then you'll start to get antsy when you don't get to do it.

I remember that show -- used to really like it.

See you in about 8 days.

Hey Cannon, I thought of you as Niapage is very concerned about one of her daughter's being tested in school for a learning disability. Would you mind checking out her diary and seeing what words you have to offer her? I thought it would be helpful if she could hear from a teacher.
