Cannon's Journal

way to go there Cannon........walking is my best way to loose and feel good about myself.....although lately i have been swimming a lot and that is pretty darn good to!!! keep up the great work bro and that scale will start to drop in no time man!!!
later on dude............STAR:D

Hey I made it through my fifth straight day walking. I saw two things on Penn & Teller last night.

1. My thoughts about BMI were correct. It was created over 150 years ago, not meant to be used this way, and George Clooney is technically obese according to it.

2. A fat person who exercises regularly has a better mortality rate than a normal weight person who doesn't. It does make a huge difference.

28 days to build a habit -you're almost 1/5 the way there :) keep going :) think energizer bunny - at least get out to beat the crap out of him :)

Hi, Cannon. I agree completely about BMI. I've dropped it from my list of goals. I'm much more interested in body fat percentage -- I think that's the real gauge of how fit you are.

Absolutely right on the fitness part. It is better to be fat and fit than skinny and unfit. However, all the extra weight can cause a lot of other complications that tend to make life miserable.

Have a great week!

When I was younger I always prided myself on being the in shape fat guy. My friends would need a break long before I would. I wouldn't think anything of taking a 4 mile hike to go someplace at college or in my 20s could throw 200 batting practice fastballs when coaching. Last year I suddenly reallized I wasn't the in shape fat guy--I was the fat guy. I have tried to drop the pounds many times in my life, but that was the first time I ever really felt like I needed to do something and do it soon.

Tomorrow is going to be a real challenge to get the walking in. I have plans tomorrow at 7:30. I have to be at school very early and I have a job interview tomorrow after school. Going to be a challenge.

Good luck on the job interview tomorrow, Cannon. Maybe you can get up an hour earlier and get your walk in then.

I didn't want to be short on sleep. I figure that 6-7 hours sleep (preferrably 7) is as important to me as exercise. I did get to bed at 11:00 and I woke up by 5:45. I was able to get the walk in with 10 minutes to spare :)

Cannon - good job my man :D:D:D I love walking so much...I like to try to walk my problems away - ha ha ha - but it gives me time to think and allows my mind to kinda sort things out

Good for you! But you're right, sleep is very important.

Have a great interview later today!
