Cannon's Journal

Thanks for checking in on me everybody. I did go out to eat tonight with my mom and step-dad. Made some good choices, but could have done better. Oh well. I'm not binging and I'm not out of control, but I could have done better today. Tomorrow I will do better.

Cannon anytime we mingle with the rest of the population there are going to be choices. I dont think I eat anything now that I dont think about or try to manuplate the calories in some way. So your not the only one that gets involved in having to make those choices.

Hey Cannon, do they have teacher in-service days in the Chicago public school system? (random days where you don't have kids and you get to listen to some idiot drone on and on for 6 hours.)

Kaitie-LOL yes we do. We just had 3 last week in fact. Lee, I did indeed make a choice and it wasn't a horrible one. I'll live with it even if I gained a little. I'll make it up this week.

Well today's the big day. I'm not too nervous about today because things usually go well for the first week or so. If I can get past the stress and into a routine before this huge bureacracy I work for comes up with more, I'll be OK.

Have fun at school... learn lots... be nice to the other kids.. and oh wait -y ou're the teacher.. torture the little rugrats :D

Thanks for all the well wishes. Today went well. The first day usually does because the kids are on their best behavior and the bureacrats leave us alone. Still one good day down is a good day down. I think I talked way too much with my homeroom. I did notice I've lost more weight than I reallized. I don't think I can hold off getting new pants like I wanted to. My pants are much too big and I was spending most of the day tucking in my shirt.

Glad to hear that the first day back was a good one. No crisis to mention..always a good thing! :)

As for the shopping, I look forward to hearing all about your shopping adventures! :D

Way To Go!!

Congratulations on a great first day AND on having to tuck your shirt in all day! HEY, that's a victory!!! You better buy some new pants or a smaller belt before your students get to know you REALLY well! LOL :D Have a great week!!!

Woo Hoo!
Time for a shopping trip Cannon!

I know I had resisted buying clothes because, well, because the weight I am now is NOT The weight I plan on being long - however, we need clothes that we can wear now. Not tomorrow, and not worked last week - but today.

Maybe two pairs of chinos, one khaki one black, and alternate with different shirts.

...ahem...
not that I'm a fashion maven nor do I play one on TV
;)

Good!

I highly recommend not doing a power wine walk in them if you'd like them to have that new look for any length of time!

LOL M2M--somebody mentioned non-scale victories in another diary I was reading. I definitely had one this morning.

11:pM Tuesday - Sleep
6:AM - Wakeup
6:17 AM - Dressed and out the door for an 11 block walk
6:45 AM - Shower and change into work clothes
7:17 AM - Got on computer and ate muselix, drank water, and took my multi

I'm going to stay on the computer until 7:40, pack up and then head to work. That should get me there by 8:15 - kids arrive at 9:00. This is the routine I am trying to follow every day. A typical routine last year:

12:00 Get in bed and listen to radio
12:30 Finally get to sleep
5:30 First alarm goes off (Begin hitting snooze every 5 minutes between two alarms)
6:30 Finally get out of bed and get showered and dressed
7:00 Get on computer
7:30 Leave for school - get 3 doughnuts at bakery behind my apt.

So day 1 down on what I think is a very positive day.
