Cannon's Journal

Well today I had to choose between coming on here, walking, and sleeping 7 hours. I could do two and I let the walking pass. I felt bad, but I really needed the motivation of posting on weigh in day and I eally want to keep with the 7 hours of sleep. Thursday night is rough because I had a lot to do at home and with grad school after work I got home close to 9. Anyway, I have become Mr. Hold the Cheese lately and I've made my way through a lot of meals out--Its unfortunate, but it is what happens this time of year. The good news is I am now weighing in at 429.6 meaning I'm 5.4 under the goal I set for Labor Day. I'm starting to notice a difference in the way I feel and I hope that makes me a better teacher. I still have so far to go, but I'm enjoying the journey so far. Thanks for all the support you've given me along the way. Old friends are the best friends and people like M2M, Jelly Belly, Crunchie and Scarlett have been helping me along for a long time, but there have also been so great new people popping in this week and believe me I draw inspiration from each and every one of you.

Sometimes the support is actually more important to the weight loss, than the occasional missing of the exercise. ;)

And believe you me, you're an inspiration to many of us here too. :p

Great job Cannon!!

Way to go Cannon! It really is one day at a time! And I can honestly say that each day you inspire us! Keep up the great work and wonderful, healthy choices!!! ;)

Yea you passed on the walking but I'm glad to see ya! :) Don't sweat it too much, you've done an excellent job thus far, one day isn't going to break you, after all we've gotta get our beauty rest in! :)

Keep up the good work and congratulations on the loss and getting closer and closer to your goal! You rock! *smooches*

cannon it is a good feeling when your dropping weight. Even when it slows down its kinda nice. Just the mean old hollidays are around the corner thats when i'll have the most trouble. Keep it up.......

Sadly, I have quit the FSD. I find that I do better when I keep monitoring my weight. I really don't get discouraged when I have a bad day and it keeps me going, motivated, and focused. I dropped another 1.4 since yesterday supposedly but I know how dayly fluctuations happen. This week was an accomplishment since work started again and I still took off some weight. Next week is going to be worse as I'll have students and a 10 minute lunch without ability to cook anything. I'm going to try and make salads and sandwiches to bring and I've purchased healthy snacks. I also have reallized that teaching has probably helped to slow my metabolism as I've trained myself to only go to the bathroom during that 10 minute period during the 6 hours I have students. Still, I've got momentum and as Jerome Bettis has proven (That's for Fat Guy Tri) its darn hard to stop a big guy with momentum.

Cannon! I'm a teacher too! (and so's my husband John) What do you teach? How long have you been teaching? And boy-o-boy do I know about those 10 minute breaks!!! I'm a music teacher, this is (crazy enough) my 11th year teaching. I teach little K-5 munchkins how to play instruments. My husband John is a middle school math teacher (crazy man). Hope you have a great school year!

You have a wonderful school year ahead of you!!!

Cannon you are doing such an awesome job! You have really set some awesome healthy habits in motion. I am certain you will keep the weight loss going throughout the school year!! ;)

It's funny, my two best teachers at school are both losng weight too. One is a very athletic girl who has gained a bit of a beer belly. She's dropped 11 pounds over summer. My other friend Sue lost 37 pounds by having a baby. The doctor's were worried cause she kept losing weight but that was cause she threw up everything she ate and the baby is very healthy and adorable. I'm hoping we'll all keep each other on the straight and narrow.

Hopefully you can have a little club at school.. and encourage healthy habits and have some lunch buddies... and keep each other in good snacks... it's great that you aren't alone in your journey at work...

Wow, what a big calorie day I had.

Breakfast
Muselix and Skim milk

Lunch
Roast Beef Sandwich

Snack
Ice Cream Sandwich

Sanck II
Whole Grain Tortilla Chips with Spinach Dip

Dinner
9 oz Strip Steak

Snack
Ice Cream Sandwich

It wasn't too horrible for calories---I'd guess about 2000 - 2100 calories, but there wasn't a lot of nutrients in a lot of those calories. Oh well tomorrow is another day. I'm not real down about it.

Cannon,

I commend you for your honesty! It's not always easy to write down EVERYTHING we eat - don't I know it!!

You are doing a wonderful job though!! You have been very consistent - and consistency is one of the main keys to reaching your weight loss goal! Keep up the great work!!! ;)

awwh. don't be down Cannon. Tomorrow is another day right? :)
I've had an entire bad MONTH so far remember? Shrug it off. I try to think that this is a brand new start. It's the beginning of the month. A new clean slate. :)

Blech, today its raining so no early morning walk. I do try and keep my calories low, but I guess if when I go overboard I only get up to 2100 I'm not so bad. That's still weight loss territory for me. Still, I can do better. I'm not down as much as stressed and impatient.

Good MOrning!!!!! Glad tohear everything is back on track and taht you are feeling good. Have a GREAT Day and drink your WATER!!!Don't forget:D

Have a great day Cannon; you're doing so great! I need to use the scale every day too; it keeps me honest. And the flucuations don't bother me.
