Canned Tuna...the holy grail of snacks?

True Derw, but honestly, while you may not have experienced any problems, other people can. Thats why it is strongly recommended to keep away from alcohol. And you are right, I am not 100% definitive about my statement, but it IS my opinion.

I could care less about Mercury in Tuna, but Wrangell, drinking alcohol during pregnancy is the worst thing you can do (As I learned in my psychology class). So all in all, do not let a drop of alcohol into your system when pregnant.

I'm not up on all the studies, but if there seemed to be some form of consensus among the medical community that some sort of precautionary measures should be taken during pregnancy, I'd follow them - whether they be about mercury or alcohol consumption. But that's just me.

Also, I suspect that the primary concern in all issues of nutrition during pregnancy is the welfare of the child. And based on what I've read the sense seems to be that too much mercury may damage a baby's developing brain and nervous system. How much mercury is in a given can of tuna is anyone's guess...so anything that would suggest some tuna consumption guidelines ( with mercury in mind ) would appear to be a prudent move in the best interest of the child IMO...including of course the benefits of consuming seafood during pregnancy.

I do it almost everyday

I eat my tuna out of a can and it's helped me reach my goals - People think I'm nasty for doing it but those same people eat junk food all day and then come crying to me saying "why can't I lose weight"

This is how real men eat fish

I keep bleeding from the gums and walking into doors, do you think I should stop eating Tuna?

LMAO, I've eaten Tuna just about every day for the last 10 years, I think it's funny how people get scared about every last bit of research that comes out about a possible danger.

I can see why pregnant women should restrict consumption, it's just a case of playing it safe but for a healthy adult male I don't think there's too much to worry about

I've heard canned tuna contains mercury along with sodium.

Still, I continue to eat it everyday..
