can you do to much cardio???

jsut wondered how much cardio is too much.

im doing 30-40 mins running or cycling 5-6 times a week.
plus also do 30-60 mins very brisk walking 2-3 times a week aswell

kinda feelin like i wanna do that little bit more but dont want to overdo it and not sure where i say "ok this is enough"

so would u say what im doing is sufficient or could i do a little more????

Are you fitting in strength training as well? (I think you are if I remember your diary right, but don't remember for sure.)

It all depends. Most people will tell you not to increase more then 10% each week. My advice is to listen to your body and go up as long as your feeling ok.

Good Luck.

the only thing I can think of that could cause a problem with too much running is perhaps some knee problems,,, but the amount you do probably won't cause that...

my wife is a runner... runs for about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. 5-6 days a week, and hasn't had any problems... (not to mention, we just had a baby 2 months ago)...

I say do what feels right...

goals it to gain a little more muscle all over and lose more fat.
my waist is 28-29inch right now and want to get to 26
also want to really work on my a**, change the shape slightly n get a bit more roundness going on

i dont know my weight as keep away from the scales.. on a guess, im roughly about 9 and half stone (whatever that is in pounds)

im 5'4.

i forgot...
not keepin track of calorie intake too much.
jsut eating 4-5 smaller meals a day, eating as much fresh whole foods as poss and including a little protein in every meal.
oh and not eating carbs after about 5-6pm

reason i want to increase cardio a little is coz i want fast results on the fat loss.. jsut want to get that last little bit off coz i do part time work as a dancer and have a big event that im dancing at, at the end of july and i dont wanna be up there in front of thousands of people with a jelly belly

i did have a fitday account a while back but it was taking up so much of my time filling it all in.
is there an easier quicker way to work it all out???

might aswell start from today while its fresh in my mind

I think you can do too much. You don't want to over train yourself too much or you will be having problems with aches. Do as much as you feel is right for you though, but do what is within your available. Make sure you actually have time to train for that amount of time each week, or reverse effects could start taking place.

Typically, cardio comes down to how hard you are working. I could stay on the treadmill for hours walking and not get tired. However, I can get more by reaching my training heart rate and gaining the most during my 30-40 minutes of cardio. So, by you saying that you did X amount of this, and Y amount of that, it could mean a lot of things. Were you hitting your training heart rate? Did you breath hard? Can you carry on a decent conversation without pausing for air a long time? All these questions will factor into when enough is enough.

I have run myself into injury a few times. and for those that know me, they can tell you I am rathe rintense and obsessive. I have come to find out thru experience that if I am changing up the discipline, meaning Run, swim, elypticals and stuff like that, I can do a tons of cardio and be fine.

It is when I focus on one, ie: running over 50 miles a week that I get into trouble and wear out a joint, or lower back will get tired, or a knee will start clicking.

having some change up in activity makes a big difference in my personal capacity.

NOW, if I coudl just beat these dang sweets, I would have some more of the results I'm looking for,.....

You sound like you are doing fantastic.... thabnk you for allowinjg me to beat the hell out of my keyboard on yoru thread.

So, do you like sweet foods such as brtownies, ice cream, cookies, and cheese cakes?

This is why I will never send my children to public school.

Lol, that has nothing to do with the school he went to, there are plenty of us who went through the state system and have a basic grasp of the English language and don't have to swear at each other

HAHA trust me i dont HAVE to swear at anyone, I chose to swear at her, you act like you have never sworn at someone, congratulations on being perfect.

Also on this forum people are to quick to judge. Because I have an argument with one person you assume so much. Who are you to say what kind of school district/system I went through. Are you saying kids that go to private school are greater of a person than kids who went to public school. You make me laugh.

And by saying this is a reason you wont send your kids to public school thats basically taking a stab at how my parents raised me. What if I couldn't afford to go to private school like many kids in the United States and my parents were working extremely hard to just put food on the table. This is not the case, my parents could have put me in priate school. But you know whats funny TANIZAKI. The way you speak and the judgments you can make from a fight 2 people have on a forum, telling me where your kids are going to go to school shows me that they are going to be some stuck up kids one day cuz you seem like a pretty stuck up person hahaha BYE BYE

Oh i'm sorry if I made some gramatical mistakes, can you please correct them for me because my public teachers werent able to help me....OOOPS
