Im 14 and i weigh 10 stone. I have very little confidence and i think if i get slimmer i will get some more confidence. I weighed 9 stone before the summer. I want to get slimmer with exercise before february. But, i cant go to the gym because i never have time.

I play soccer and i train twice a week and have a match once a week. I have 2.5 lb weights and a skipping rope. Is there anyway i could use these to do fat burning exercises at home.

I mainly want to lose stomach fat.

thanks!

anyone?/???????

Ok, a couple things...ya gotta give us some time to respond...don't get upset it you dont' get a post right away.

2nd...I understand you wanting to lose stomach fat, but you can't spot reduce. You eat your healthy foods, do your exercises and the weight will come off a little at a time, all over.

ALso, I'm not entirely sure I know whats your question. Your asking if you can do those exercises at home??? Why couldnt' you? Exercise doestn' have to be tedious hours on the tredmill...sports totally count!!

Whats your diet look like??

You can also do jogging, running, and cycling for it helps in having a slim stomach. As for dieting to lose fat, eat healthy foods and combine fruits juices on your every other day diet in order to achieve the weight loss goal that you're looking for. Just take it easy and don't rush.

And that is what we call a huge steaming pile of bull****. If anyone tells you that you can get medicine that can reduce stomach fat and speed up your metabolism is full of it. I'm fully expecting to have to remove a signature any moment now linking to sites selling such pill.

But if John is serious, please provide science or medical case studies please.

Your right on Jericho....I'm shocked that line didnt' have a spam link after it...only spammers are dumb enough to make a statement like that.

Hi Johnnydaman!

A great way to lose weight with jumping rope is to do an interval workout. That's when you jump rope at a fast speed for 30 seconds to 1 minute then stop jumping and rest for 1 minute. Do that for 10-15 mins. You will continue to burn calories even after you are done with that workout.
You can also do MANY workouts with nothing but your own body weight. Try burpees, mountain climbers, running in place, jogging, push-ups, sit-ups, plank, tri cep dips.
I hope that helps a little bit :)

Thank you for your replies. I will use the jumping rope interval workouts.

But is there any exercises i can do in my bedroom that are really good for burning fat and that i can also use my ankle weights to burn even more calories etc.?

This isn't spam or anything and I'm not affiliated with this website but this trainer had great videos and aLL of her exercises that burn major calories are done in her own home or small rooms.
It's Bodyrock.tv. I've lost 12 pounds since doing her workouts :)

Wow thank you im sure this will really help! Can i ask, how long did it take to lose that 12 pounds?

I lost that in 6 weeks and still losing!
She also has great food tips for portion sizes and recipes. She looks perfect herself so for me to she's great motivation. And she's reached her level of fitness from only doing the workouts she shows on her website, they are very high intensity but they are only around 20 mins. They are interval workouts so you're supposed to push yourself as hard as possible but they work...... iv'e lost tons of inches to, my work pants are literally hanging off my body! I need new pants already lol

Short, intense workouts are great advice - well done. There is too much advice on this forum regarding ineffective slow cardio.

Any exercise..and I really mean any..is good because any movement burns calories. Some are more effective than others but the bottom line is move.

But in the interests of actually achieving something the op should probably be given the best advice available. I'm burning calories right now typing this but it's not gonna help me lose weight.

No, there is not.

Calling cardio ineffective is complete nonsense. At certain stages, when an individual is at the beginning of their lifestyle change (I am deliberately trying to avoid the word 'diet'), slow cardio might well be the only kind of exercise that they are capable of.

Would you seriously tell a 350 lbs person who has no exercise whatsoever that trying to walk (a form of cardio) is not going to do them any good and that they should engage in high intensity workouts?

As Jericho said, ANY form of exercise is good, and none should be ruled out.

Dismissing any kind of exercise as 'ineffective' shows a severe lack of knowledge, and what's worse, a lack of care towards the people that you give your 'advice' to.

And just for the record, I lost over 100 lbs just by changing my diet and doing 'slow, ineffective cardio'. If I had tried high intensity anything at the beginning of my journey, I would have succumbed to a heart attack within the first few days.

There is another member of this forum who lost nearly 200 lbs (maybe even more by now) by walking only.

Ineffective? Really?

High intensity workouts might well be the most effective for the OP, but I would appreciate if you could refrain from making blanket statements which are simply not true, and rather misleading to boot.

I'm talking about the concept of slow, "fat burning" cardio in the traditonal sense - not the principle of increasing ones heart rate.

I'm an exercise coach and my duty of care is to give people my honest advice regarding what will be most effective for them.

Well, forgive us if we take who you are with a grain of salt. You are new to the forum and we have had quite a few come here claiming (or are) coachs and it usually winds up with them either (1) alienating the forum with how they approch members or (2) trying to get new people to their website or buy their products or service (which you was one of those initially, I'm the one who removed your link).

coming on and basicly saying there there is a great deal of wrong information here fits in part 1. It makes it tough to listen to you to see what advice you are giving..good or not.

If I come across as abbrasive it's only because I'm passionate about my profession and much of what I teach does not follow traditional advice - hence it generally receives a mixed reaction.

And the link that I posted was to a free training resource - I don't even have banner or google ads. But I can appreciate that you probably don't have time to look at individual links.

Actually I do and and I was clear about why it was removed.

as far as your tone..maybe if you look at it as this is a family and you are wanting to be part of that family right? Maybe not saying that alot of the family is giving bad advice isn't the way to go. I'm trying to help you here.
