How many hours you work per week:
Gender:
Years in the industry:
Certifying organization:
Environment in which you work: (gym, home, corporate, etc...)
Business owner, partner, independent contractor or employee:

1. What advice would you give to a person who is now establishing a personal training business?

2. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

3. What is the least favorite aspect of your job?

4. What would you change about your job if you could? Why?

5. What type of clients do you prefer to work with? Why?

6. How do you reduce liability?

7. What is your client evaluation process?

I dont think many PT's would be willing to help, seeing as its a very compettitive industry. The things your asking can differ from place to place, time of year, person to person.

Guess you'll have to find out the hard way like everyone else.

Good luck tho. Hope you find what your looking for.

How many hours you work per week: 30-35
Gender: Male
Years in the industry: 4-5
Certifying organization: NASM / CSCS
Environment in which you work: Privately owned club
Business owner, partner, independent contractor or employee: Employee

1. What advice would you give to a person who is now establishing a personal training business?
Get yourself out there, train people for free, stay busy... especially if you're working at a club, stay on the floor at all times, help people, clean the machines, shadow other trainers, etc...

2. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Seeing people change physical as well as emotional as well as personality as well as, etc...

3. What is the least favorite aspect of your job?
Building up clients was the hardest parts, but the hours do stink...

4. What would you change about your job if you could? Why?
My hours... too many of them in a 4 day period...

5. What type of clients do you prefer to work with? Why?
I only work with clients that want to dedicate themselves to their health. Because every now and then you'll get those who think that you are going to make them lose the weight or gain the muscle... but you're not the one putting the food in them and other 'behaviors'...

6. How do you reduce liability?
Never stop learning, ask alot of questions

7. What is your client evaluation process?
% Body Fat, Muscoloskeletal Screening, Some ROM Testing, Squat Test, Plank Test... Depends on the person, never do the same for each person unless they have the same conditions...
