It was a hard day. No doubt. but I did good. Kept my mind off the kitchen by cleaning the living room. Boring I know. But I'll get better I promise.
Went to town, And I went to mickey Ds, I had an egg mcmuffin, but I took the cheese off, just ate half the muffin and egg and ham. Saved the other half of muffin for dinner. I put peanut butter on it and had a small apple.
For supper I had a small bowl of pinto beans and a slice of bread. I think that's good. I'll have to figure up the total later. But It's a lot less then what I'm use too. Ya'll let me know how the day looks to you?

your calorie count for the say seems awfully low.

egg mcMuffin is 300 calories w/ the cheese
peanut butter is 200 calories for 2 tbs
apple is no more than 90 calories
bread - 100 calories at most
pinto beans - 200 calories at most

that's not even 900 calories for the day..

\you might want to sign up for an account at - it's a free online food journal that you can track your calories and other essential nutrients.

you're paying attention to what you're doing -- and trying tomake goodchoices so you're off toa great start -- but you probably want to eat more...

Doesn't sound like you are getting enough calories!! Have you checked your BMR?

apple appx 80 cals
pb how much? 2 tbsp = around 195 cals
Egg McMuffin = 300 cals, I can't find w/cheese and ham
pintos 1 cup = 120 cals
bread?? not sure

The approximate totals = 695 plus the bread. I think you are wayyyy undereating!

Hey Ya'll

So I guess I need to eat a little more then. About 3 years ago I lost 60 pounds and I gor ravenously hungry and my hair started falling out. Once I started eating again I couldn't stop. Can anyone tell me why? My hair is fine now but I lost a lot at the time. Some friends told me it was a lack of protein? Others said if you lose a lot of weight that happens? So how much protein does a woman my age need? I have to have at least 120 carbs a day, no more then that. That is to lose weight and control the diabetes.

i've said this here a bunch of times - years back - i went on a crazy fad diet (that I lost a bunch of weight on but the diet was little to no fat - and very minimal protein - my long, thick, curly hair fell out by the handful and it's never quite beent he same.. .your hair needs fat and protein as does your body for it to be healthy. I've since learned that healthy eating in moderation is the way to go...

Since you've got diabetes, I would strongly suggest asking your doctor for a meal plan or at least what your daily requirements should be - or possibly get a referral to a registered dietician...
