Calories per hour based on HR...

Is it posible to determine how much calories are you burning per hour based on your average HR per session... I do my cardio 35 mins, constant pace at 10kmh, at 80-85% of my Maximum heart rate, burning about 1000 kcal per hour in average. That is based on my heartrate measurings and information provided by the threadmill..
My question is.. Lets say I have a heart rate monitor and I go for outdoor running or cycling.. My heart rate reaches lets say 160BPM (80%), and I run/cycle at that pace for 35 mins... Will I burn about 570kcal, same as I do with workout on threadmill? Can I calculate my calorie burning based only on heartrate information, even roughly??

And also, is it good to lose that much calories at that pace... I do my cardio 5 times a week.

cheers!

nope, HR isn't enough to determine calories burned. the number of calories you burn has a lot of variables. how hard you're working, your current fitness level, how much body fat and lean mass you have...
the cardio machines at the gym are just doing a very rough estimate based on your weight and heart rate.

ur body will eventually get used to the cardio type that ur doin and be more efficient in burning calories, u might probably not burn as much.

you should try different cardiovascular workouts like swimming, etc.

Yep. If what you are trying to do is loose weight, than listen to Joey. Swimming is the best way to burn calories. Not just that, changing things up is always good, use different muscles.

Your heart rate can't determine exactly how much you are loosing, normally you will be loosing more than it says you are. While swimming, you use every muscle on your body, that is used for movement (Seriously), it burns massive amounts of calories, but is harder.
