Byebye Big Bum!

LOL I dunno. The guy on the phone (with a very very straight face, I imagine) talked about it being a modesty preserving technique, where you sit on something and get yourself all sorted, then the hydrotherapest comes back in...he said he'd had it done himself and it was very envigorating. At this point I apologised and said I was trying to keep from laughing, and that this was a serious enquiry but it all sounded rather funny. He wasn't sure whether to be amused or keep his professional manner!! hahaha.

Oh well, I'll find out tomorrow...i just like the idea of 3lbs lighter, feeling healthier, less bloated, flatter stomach and less spots! That's got to be worth a tube up where the sun doesnt shine! I think we need to think of it as colonic hydrotherapy rather than an enema!!!

Thanks for all of the other messages guys - nice pic Cabbie!!!

Well, I think today is going to bring new experiences!! LOL!! I will report back!! Or maybe post on my iPhone during!!! hahaha. I don't think so!!

I spoke to Mr X yesterday and its looks like we have a date in teh diary for the next meet up...so I have just under a month to lose another 7lbs or so. I want to be 175lbs by the time I see him as that will be another stone gone since our last meeting. He started off the call busy and grumpy and then was chatty and lovely by the time I'd finished with him...sigh. I think someone just needs to take my phone away for a month so I'm not distracted.

Well, how did your new experience go? I'm dying to hear about it. Every time I think about it it just cracks me up! :smilielol5:

hey hey hey guys! Hope you are all having a happy hoppy weekend.

Sunflower. I am going to make a new years resolution (for November)...to chill out, be motivated by certain men to lose weight but not to become too...focused...! No calls, no waxing lyrical in my weight loss diary!!

Ok...well, it was an interesting experience. I wouldn't normally describe such a thing but you all seem intrigued...!! Not unpleasant but a little weird. Nothing uncomfortable - a very little plastic tube that you kind of lie on your back and sit on with a toilet shaped hole underneath you. Very private, it was a machine with a properly trained therapist/nurse checking up on you every 10 mins or so and everything was under the cover of a very large fluffy towel so she only twiddled knobs on the machine...it was only uncomfortable when the pressure went up a little too high. Apart from that...strange but cleansing. I definitely feel rehydrated and more alert, less sluggish, more energetic. I'm not sure I'd have it done again or regularly but I like the idea that everything has had a good flush through so to speak after all the junk I'd been eating in the last 6-10 years! Oh, and I literally lost about an inch on my stomach area. Literally. My jeans which fit fine before hand were baggy-o afterwards.

Played lacrosse afterwards and even though we lost, I had a good game. Went for a 5 mile hike today with my mum and daughter - I'm really impressed that she walked so far...not bad for a 5 year old! Probably around 300-400 calories burnt.

I've also been looking into getting some clipless pedals for my road bike (although they are called clipless, they really mean pedals that slip to special riding shoes so your feet are permenantly attached to the pedal)...they are meant to be so much better for hill climbing and riding longer distances but I think I will forget I am clipped in and just fall over every time I stop and then realise that I can't put my foot down on the ground without clipping out!!!

Food intake over the last couple of days has probably been a couple of hundred cals per day too high, but then again I've cycled 10 miles, played lacrosse, walked 5 miles...so the calories are also flowing the other way too!

Right off for a bath and to read the sunday papers, then we're having a halloween party at my parents house for my daughter.

Well that didn't sound quite as ghastly as I expected and I could imagine how well you would feel afterwards.
Enjoy your halloween party. I've had to go out and by treats as my nephews said that they will be coming around my way with about 20 friends!!!!! I've got plenty of drinks in as well as I remember when they came once before they were all thirsty.

Have you ever seen those over the counter products that you drink that cleanse everything inside? I think I would rather do that than hook myself up to some sort of machine to get cleaned out.

Glad you liked the results though!

I am glad the experience was "ok". Some people I work with have had it done in the past and they really liked it. Might be something for me to look into one I get around the 200s. The extra energy sounds great!

LOL> I can't imagine saying "I really liked it!" hahaha.

Well today was a good day. Went for a 5.5km run in my lunch break with a couple of the ladies from work - this is getting to be a weekly thing now so great that we are in the pattern. Everything is hurting a bit from playing lacrosse on Saturday and walking 5 miles yesterday but I got through the run without stopping and the two I was with run faster than me so it forced me to up my pace a bit. Just enough to be uncomfortable which means I didn't get the "mental" rest from the run, but hey, good to be pushed outside my comfort zone.

Food today:
toasted bagel - 220 cals
2 cups of tea - 20 cals
blueberry muffin - 390 cals (i know i know but i went to a breakfast meeting and they were whispering "eat me...eat me.." all the way through)
potato snacks - 180 cals
banana - 90 cals
apple - 50 cals
plain salad (lettice and cucumber) with 5x 9cal slices of ham = 85 cals
dry fried chicken and stirfry veg - 220 cals + 67 cals = 287 cals

Total - 1322 cals

Exercise: (403) :hurray:

So, running at a good calories count for the day overall. Still fluctuating weight-wise between 181 - 184 but again, better than nothing! God I want to get down into the 170s!! I feel like I've been stuck around 185 for months now (well I have!!!). On the plus side, I put on a pair of size 14 (UK) trousers yesterday and they were a bit tight on the thighs but fitted on the stomach! Plus my size 16 jeans are starting to get a bit loose! W00H00!!

I also discovered that the afternoon tea lady on our client floor (i.e. the one who lays out all the rooms for client meetings) is also a seamstress and will do alterations at a good price. So, I've arranged with her to bring in some of my work trousers that are just too big around the waist and she'll make them fit me again! The legs will probably still look a bit big but at least I don't have to throw the suits out just yet.

That's a good idea having clothes altered. I bought a lovely black dress and jacket to slim into and the dress is already too loose on the hips. I was thinking about giving it away or selling it but I could probably just have it taken in a bit. My sister could probably even do it for me.
Well done on the running. I can't wait to get back into it.

I used to be pretty good at sewing and alterations, and I keep meaning to take in some of my old clothes - but heck, who has the time??!?!?!?! It's easier/faster/more fun just to buy more!

LOL!! I do like buying more clothes I must admit! But I have two or three work suits now that the UK size 16 trousers fit fine on the thighs, but are baggy at the waist, however the jackets (size 16) fit fine - the ones that have size 18 jackets and I bought the trousers in 16 and 18, I'll probably just give to the charity store.

However, it will be the "Next" christmas sale soon!! (oooooh) and I plan to buy a couple more suits in a 12/14/16 combo (size 12 and 14 trousers, size 14 or 16 jacket) and stock up on size 14 jeans. I felt a bit guilty buying clothes in the last Next sale as I knew I'd move through the sizes, but since discovering that I can sell the jeans second hand on ebay for like £8-10 each (when they only cost me like £12 in the sale) makes me worry less!!

I am perplexed as to why my weight is hovering but my clothes are getting looser. Fair enough that I'm not losing lbs at a fast rate - I've not been strict enough on my eating habits but the clothes size thing... Maybe something to do with the running and stuff = toning and muscles? My legs are definitely getting more toned. I bought a pair of lovely calf high boots on ebay the other week (I could never wear these sorts of boots as they wouldn't zip up over my legs) and they fitted fine. I feel SO much more feminine now that I'm able to wear this kind of stuff.

I really like running in lunch break. I might plan another route that i feel safe running on my own and do it a couple more times a week. The route I run with the ladies is along the canal towpath and although there are quite a few other runners that we see, I think its a little too deserted and "industrial wasteland" in parts for me to go and do on my own. That said though, once I get out of the city centre - 5 mins from the office, the pavements would be quiet enough to run on without a problem. If I could do 4-5km on my own another couple of times a week, I reakon I'd really see results. I'm just finding running at home difficult now as its dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home!!

My daughter has large calves and couldn't buy boots at all here when she was at her largest size as they come up even smaller than in England. She loved it last winter when we went to England and was actually able to buy boots. She's able to fit into boots here as well now that she's lost some weight.
I think that you are probably right about getting more toned. I noticed the same when I was exercising a lot in the summer. I didn't lose any weight at all but was definitely slimmer looking.
Seems like a great idea running at lunch time. It means you get to run more and gives you more time just to relax and do other things after work.

By frame of reference... When I weighed 230 lbs back in the late '80s, and yes I'm dating myself pretty strongly there... I used to wear a 38 waist, but was not someone who exercised regularly. I am currently 245lbs, so 15 lbs more, and 38's are falling off me, and I'm starting to fit nicely into a set of 36 waist pants.

All body composition. In other words honey, you got muskels now. Betcha looking pretty good...

Ecky - I love boots but have not been able to wear them like your daughter. I don't know how I'm going to resist buying all the boots in the world now!!!

hehehe thanks Cabbie....I am feeling PRETTY GOOD! And I think you are right re weight not always correlating to size. Something weird is going on that's for sure. No loss in weight but an inch down on my waist size (yay for 33 inches!! GO GO GO that hourglass figure!!).

Food today (good and bad I'm afraid)

toasted bagel - 220 cals
3 cups of tea - 30 cals
potato snacks - 97 cals
350g of strawberries - 98 cals
1 small doughnut - 210 cals
plain salad (lettice and cucumber) with 2x 20cal slices of beef = 90 cals
chocolate bar - 275 cals
3 slices of 20 cal beef - 60 cals
grilled chicken, fresh tomato and pitta - 350 cals

Total - 1430 cals

I know the doughnut and chocolate are not great - I was literally working for 12 hours straight at my desk today off and on calls, in and out of meetings...am absolutely knackered and the sugar rush got me through it. sigh.

On the positive point...weird kind of day! Mr X emailed me straight after reading my article and liked it, plus had finally organised a date for our big meeting!

Then I spoke to another of his colleagues about another issue...and he said "ah hah! I now know what YOU look like!! X emailed us all your article! I'm looking forward to meeting you!" and I was like "arghh" - super embarrissed!! But hey, he must have thought it worth reading if he sent it around his team and the other guy's reaction was pretty complimentary. I'm hoping he thought "oooh she looks nice! No wonder X is talkign to her lots!". hehehe

Plus, I got called up by a team outside my region because I am now apparently "the go to girl" on this particular specialist area and after an hours conference call, won a substantial piece of work. Seriously, without the insider conversations with him and contacts through Mr X, never would have had the chance to develop as THE specialist in this area.

Anyhows, those are the things that made me feel great today, even though I worked so hard and long.

Bath and bed for me I think! Bit narked no time for running during the day, nor will there be tomorrow...maybe Friday...plus no energy to jump on the spinning bike now I am home. Just too darn exhausted.

I love boots too (and shoes in general). Hubby bought me a pair of sexy black high heeled ones for my birthday. They go up to my knees almost. That makes 9 pairs of boots that I have, including a pair that go up to the middle of my thighs. I don't have much occasion to wear that pair, but I love them anyway. I LOVE all my shoes!!!

You must feel great to get the affirmation of being the go to girl at work. Most of the time I love that feeling, but some days when it feels like everyone wants a piece of me I just want to scream and run away.

Hey there my PB and Jjjay!

I just read back a few posts and about your cleansing and stuff and had to relate an experience.....

Years ago...I was seeing a girl who's parents had a cottage on the lake. A neighbour of theirs had a speedboat and waterskis and asked us if we wanted to try waterskiing.

Well...we had a few drinks and of course my confidence was inflated (even though I cant swim) and thought what the hell...worst that can happen is I'ld get wet right??

Well...the first rule in waterskiing if you didn't already know is...."If you think you're going to fall, LET GO OF THE ROPE!!!"

I missed that part of the instructions.....after three failed attempts of getting "up" on the skiis, I finally got the balance and got up and out of the water. This lasted for about three seconds....afterwhich I was dragged for about 50 meters with my legs in the air!.

To make a long story short...I never ingested so much water thru a certain orfice of my body! lol I swear I was one of the first pioneers of colon cleansing and I didnt even know it! lol

I hven't tried waterskiing since then....and I am not fond of the idea of colon cleansing since.

But I am glad to hear your experience was favourable :)

Thanks for all your well wishes and just wanted to let ya know I'm back and smilin'!

Take care!
