bye bye baby weight!

I'm at the weight I was when I got pregnant the second time. I want to be the weight I was when I got pregnant the first time. It's just a bit harder to get down to that again than I thought.
Thanks for stopping by!!

With all your dedication and hardwork, you'll achieve it! Just make it a family thing.. take walks after dinner and incorporate this into your children's lives too.

My husband was military as well, and after he got out and we married, I cooked and cooked and never really thought about nutritional value and awe at the same things we ate as kids and were rather sendentary with our new life and both packed on some pounds, but he lost almost all of his now and I'm still working. sigh. It's so much harder for women.

Hope you have a great day!

I'd love to be able to take after dinner walks with the kids, but with no sidewalks in my town I don't really feel safe doing that. too worried that a car might come speeding by. But I try to get Ashleigh (my 2 year old) to dance around with me and we play in the yard as often as weather allows. The last thing I want is for my kids to grow up thinking that it's okay to just sit in front of a tv and pig out.

In other news, Matt has finally agreed to get me a treadmil! We found one for a decent price, it's gotten good reviews, and I've promised to use it more than twice. We just have to get the credit card paid down a bit first. But once we get that done, I'll finally have no more excuses(I mean reasons) to keep me from working on my "running" It's more like enthusiastic jogging, but still. I read about this couch to 5K program on this other website I frequent. sounds like a good idea. it slowly gets you from jogging for 5 minutes a day to being able to jog/run for 30 minutes. that would be great. talk about a kick start to my cardio. lately it's been bellydancing in the livingroom with Ashleigh or nothing.
Well I should get going. neither of my kids wants to take a nap, so I've got to figure out what to do for a workout with them awake. ugh.

Wow, I agree about walking with the kids on the streets. How about any local schools with tracks.. the monotony would probably kill you, but well, it's exercise! hehe.

Congrats on the treadmill. Hubby and I got one a while back, and thought we'd use it all the time and well, it didn't happen. Here recently we actually have been using it ALL the time when we can't get outside.

I too have the link to the couch to 5k program and have thought about trying that sometime. While on vacation, I ran 1 mile nonstop one day and then 1.4miles nonstop the next day.. and since I got back home, I haven't been able to do that.. kinda makes me wonder if it was the treadmill I was using if it was better or something or if I'm just a lazy a$$. ha. Let me know if you start the couch to 5K program.

How's the hubby coming along with his working out and such? HOpe you get some peace and the kids rest for a bit for ya.

I'm sure there are schools around here, but being a foreign country I'm having a hard time finding out where and if they're open to the public for using the track. that whole language barrier is a pain. but I'm working on it.
The couch to 5K program seemed like a great idea for me since in my wildest dreams(and best physical shape) I couldn't run farther than the 1 1/2 mile run for JROTC in highschool. and even that was almost impossible. I'm hoping it'll help kick me back in to weightloss, or at least inch-loss. I'm at a horrible plateau right now and nothing's working!!
Matt and his working out......HA. he has mandatory PT 3 times a work cycle. that's 3 out of every 9 days. and on those 3 days he does a MAX of 30 minutes. that includes warmups and everything. So, though he is putting in the effort, he's not doing as much as he's going to need to, to get back in the shape he was in when he got back from his deployment. Don't get me wrong, he's not lazy, he just doesn't seem to realize that it's going to take more work than that. ah well. Once he starts complaining about not seeing a difference I'll try clueing him in again.

In other news (I feel like a news anchorwoman saying that...hehe)...I skipped my workout yesterday due to crabby and impatient kids wanting to go play in the yard. so I got a bit of cardio in from chasing them all over hell and back. but other than that nadda.
Today however, I've done fucking awesome! I did my full 3 sets of EVERYTHING. squats, planks(bastards), stability ball exercises, weights...the whole shabang. I'm pleased as punch about that! And to top it off, I'm feeling that wonderful warm loose feeling right now. It's great to have that back. Talked to a friend of mine back home that said I should try doing the exercises that work more than one muscle group first, then do the specifics (pushups before bicep curls). Good god did that make a difference. cut down on the number of target specifics I could do, but I FEEL the difference all over. Such a simple thing and it's made one hell of an impact!
Well, as much as I would love to sit on my ass and type all day I need to go chase my kids out of my bedroom and back down the stairs.

Ciao!!

Yeah, when you don't see that number going down the scale as often it's such crap when you are kicking tail and taking names. Sometimes, all you need is a day of freedom (eat whatever you want) Or to kick that old routine out and start with new, which it seems you are doing.

Maybe in between each exercise try some jumping jacks or jumping rope is really REALLY good for you.

Glad you could chase the kids around and really as long as you are getting in something, it's better than sitting here typing to strangers all day (sometimes I find myself compelled to do this).

I guess I missed that you were stationed internationally, so I can see how this could be a problem, but you are doing what you can. I have never had to do anything like this, but maybe you can check with the embassy there and they can give you some advice. I dunno.

Good Luck with the rest of your day.

I'd love to be able to jump rope. I'm just worried I'm going to hit something with it. all our light fixtures hang down from the ceiling far enough i'm worried I'll snag it on one and end up ripping it out. boy would that suck!
I've talked to the gym manager on the Base nearby and they were absolutely NO help in finding any gyms or such near my house. Looks like I'm stuck doing it at home, at least for now.

Matt has (finally) decided he's going to start actively trying to get in shape. we were talking about it this morning when we were getting dressed for the day. He noticed the fact that I'm making a LOT more progress than him even without access to a gym. So, starting tomaro(his next day of mandatory PT), he's planning on spending at least twice as long(an hour)doing his workout, and then on his days off try to get at least one workout in. So, that more than doubles what he's been doing. I hope it'll help. the extra "squish" is driving him nuts. he's always been in pretty good shape, but he just got lazy. :) so did I. :)
So, here's hoping he'll stick to it, and maybe we'll start a friendly wager/competition. That would keep us both in gear!! :hurray:

Awesome news about Matt joining in and working for a healthier him too!

Hmm..seems that someone would be able to help you with some information about access to fitness centers. Sigh. I'm sorry you are having to go through this.

Pushups, lunges, squats (w/no weights) jumping jacks, and all the other things you are doing will be much much better than nothing.

hey there,
sorry I was gone for a bit. Matt had 3 days off, and instead of actually only getting 1 or 2 to ourselves, we got the whole break this time. I can't remember the last time that happened. so, needless to say I haven't really done a damn thing. I did a mini workout on our first day of break, and then Matt got sick. and when he gets sick the world has to come to a halt. Today is the first day back at work for him, and I spent the day cleaning house so hopefully me and the kids won't catch what he had. lots and lots of pine-sol. but hey, I got my workout. when you're cleaning a 2000 sq. ft house from top to bottom, you really work up a sweat. good god.

Wow, I hope he is feeling better and that you and the kids don't get it.

Congrats on the cleaning, I really need to do that with my house, but perhaps once my homework is finished I will :)

Have a great evening!

yeah I caught it, then gave it to both of the kids. then gave it back to him. it's been a really crappy week. but it looks like we've finally all gotten over being sick. I've done my weights and cardio every other day for the past few days. I'm hoping that I can keep from getting sick again and maybe stay with it. Not much else has been going on. it's been a constant cycle of clean, get sick, clean, take care of sick kids, clean, take care of Matt, clean....pray that no one gets sick again, clean some more! :banghead:

Admiration...

I admire how well you've done for yourself... I truly hope that I will be able to do the same for myself...

If you don' mind me asking.... and I know we've kinda messaged about this before.... but I don't think I asked this yet.

Your eating habits seem to be helping a lot for you... from what I've read... how do you usualy spread your meals throughout the day?

I've recently adopted the (no eating after 6 PM rule) That'l be one of the easier steps to incorporate....
