Thank you Cate!

I don’t think I’ve ever recorded one of my really bad days, until today. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track I eat so much, but I’m working on changing that. I was hungry before but then I just kept eating and I’m stuffed right now. I guess it’s good to be aware of how much I’m eating. I’ll do better tomorrow.

Okay, well the good news is I think that was a worse bad day than my usual bad days. I woke up feeling full and that rarely happens. It's almost 11:30 am and still haven't eaten anything today. Thinking I'm just going to have some applesauce and tea now and wait till lunch to eat anything else.

By not eating or drinking our metabolism slows down....great idea to wake it up a little :)

Hi, Butterfly. I thought your food from the day before sounded good. If you can stick to having healthy meals & cut right down on processed snacks you will be doing very well. I know how hard it can be to feel good about yourself, but there are small things that you can do that will help. Just going for a walk or visiting friends can make a big difference. Don't skip meals, please honey. Your body & brain need good nutrition. Take care, xo Cate

Thank you Cate! I rarely skip meals.

Here's yesterday's log.

I don't feel very well this morning. Funny sensations in my head and feel more unsteady than usual walking around. Blood sugar is normal though. Maybe I didn't eat enough yesterday? I'm honestly not sure how much an obese person who is trying to lose weight is supposed to eat.

Hey there, here is a scientifically based calculator that can guide you, but it is important to check with your regular doctor before taking on any drastic eating plan/ change in your nutrition, they will know you best and be able to advise.

https://authoritynutrition.com/how-many-calories-per-day/

Good luck! Oh, and I think that your food amount does not sound like much to me, but it all depends on how active you are and how tall you are :)

Thank you! I'm 5' 4" and pretty sedentary (working on changing that). Yeah, I think I should eat a bit more for now (that's what the calculator thinks too). I see my endocrinologist next moth, I'll talk to her about this.

Oh, and good news, I lost 2.2 lbs in 6 days!!!

Went overboard on the snacks last night. Just had breakfast now and hungry an hour later. I guess I had too many carbs last night.

Thanks Cate! Yes, darn carbs.

Darn carbs and sugar seem to have got me today too. At least I exercised though.

New goals-

About once a month I go to a buffet with friends. Have a few French fries there but don’t have French fries around the house.

Limit candy topping on frozen yogurt

No more overly sweetened tea (that is not something I usually buy anyway)

Exercise more

Eat less carbs

Eat more fruit

Maximum of 2 servings of guacamole per day (that will also help me eat less chips)

Start eating vegetables with peanut butter or hummus more often instead of chips and guacamole

Weigh-in- 291.9 lbs

Previous weigh-in- 289.9 lbs

Change- +2 lbs :(

Highest ever weight was 298 lbs. (Yes, this has been a slow journey).

Next goal- 285 lbs When I achieve my goal I will buy myself a new video game

Goal after that- 280 lbs and when I achieve my goal I will buy myself some new makeup

Need to get used to rewarding myself with something other than food so I came up with this idea.

280 will be a good accomplishment because that is lower than I have been in a while. After that I’ll shoot for 275, then 270, ect.

Thought maybe I’d feel more accountable and motivated posting numbers.

Hi Butterfly,

I struggle with anxiety, depression and PTSD from childhood abuse. I just want to let you know there IS hope. I had a hard time getting started but I've lost 80 pounds. I got stuck at 150 (I'm only 5 feet tall) and just started a new weight loss lifestyle and it's changed my life. Most of my extra weight was gone in less than a month. It's all about finding the lifestyle that works for you. You WILL get there. Get determined and angry to help fight through it!! Since dropping the weight I rarely have an anxiety attack, I'm not on medication anymore, it completely changed my life. And I have a new gorgeous husband lol. You CAN do this!!! I BELIEVE in you!
Thank you for sharing!

Here's yesterday's log, still need to improve.

I did great until evening came around. I was so stressed and turned to food. I’ll try to think of something healthier to do in the evenings to cope with stress. And I broke my goal of only having 2 servings of guacamole a day. And I didn’t exercise either. I need to step it up, I know that.
