Hey everyone I have been on here for almost a month now and figured it was time I start my diary.
Well let me tell you a little about myself. I have had weight issues as long as I could remember. I have tried many differant diets, pills ect. just about anything that sounded good. But I always faild. I started this new jouney last month. I was at my highest weight and just hated being this size so I went to my Dr. and told her I wanted to have a gastric bypass. So we started all the paper work. I was very nervis about having it. Part of me wanted it and the other didnt. Well to make a long story short they said I was not aproved because I was 7pounds under the weight requirement. SO at first I was a littel sad, but started to think about it and just told myself it wasnt ment to be.
So I said I can do this without surgery. On my own and in a healthy way. So here I am , on my way and so far so good. I know I have along way to go but I know I can do it this time.

you will probably be happier in the long run doing it on your own rather tha with the surgery and whole lot less risk involved for your health as well...

welcome to your diary and have fun :)

Hi!

YOU CAN do this without the surgery... this site has motivated me further than I have ever been able to in the past. Know you are not on this journey solo!

& on that note I actually dropped by to say hi because we are both on the same Halloween challenge team, House on Weightloss Hill!!!

So I should say WE can do this! Hope you are having a great day. Glad you are here.

Hey there! Just popped in b/c we're on the same team in the HC.

Well, some people would have just gone on a bender and gained the 7lbs required for the gastric bypass...lol so congrats for not doing that. My opinion on GB is that unless you change the lifestyle that got you to that weight in the first place, you'll just gain all the weight back after you can eat normally again. And how lousy would it feel to lose all that weight and then gain it back? I know several people who have done just that. So you have chosen a much healthier way to go about it! So here's your pat on the back...:hug2: lol.

Best wishes on the HC!!!:jump:

Thanks bikinibound. I had friends and family say well just go eat alot and gain the 7lbs. But that is not what I wanted to do. I felt it was just not ment to be for me right now. thanks again.

This challenge will be a great way to stay motivated. And you can do it without this surgery. It won't happen fast, but it will happen. Just keep using this forum, it helps A LOT.

Hiyas!
Welcome to your diary! You'll get addicted to writing in it everyday.
I just wanted to drop by and say Hi. We're on the same Halloween Challenge team .
It's probably a blessing in disguise for you that you couldn't do the gastric bypass. You'll feel much more accomplishment fighting this battle and winning on your own I bet.
I'll be stopping by to cheer you on ! Best of luck to you !

Howdy Butterfly,
I wanted to say you CAN defiantley do it WITHOUT surgery. My sister N law had it done when I was preggers with my son sept 2005 and when I had my sone APRIL 3 2006 she was down to 160 from 255lbs she is 142 today I totally wanted the surgery the whole time I was preggers and watching her shrink and seeing how happy she was, then after I had my son I weighed at 268 and got to 255 then the weight stopped so I said I wanted to try it on my own because wonder if I died on the OR table(which alot do)and like MAL said it makes ya feel better doing it yourself,I am 180 now and have a bit to go but it can be done.....
You will do great and challanges and gr8 people here to support you will help getcha through, have a gr8 holiday weekend Tammy:D

Hey Teammate!

Congrats on your loss last month! I'm sure you can do this on your own, and if you think about it, you're not really on your own. You have the hundreds of others here doing it with you! There's so much information and even some expert help here, too, so I know you can do it.

I wanted to say hello and make sure you didn't think I backed out of the Halloween Challenge since I've been AWOL for a few days. This has been an insane weekend for me so this is a one-time copy/paste to all of our teammates. I'll get back to original posts after everyone leaves. I was in a car accident Friday evening. It wasn't my fault, and I'm a little sore but fine. My car will need some work, though. I spent most of Saturday getting estimates, grocery shopping and cooking for a group of friends who arrived Saturday evening from the east coast. I went for a long 1-1/2 hour bike ride yesterday morning before everyone got up, and had planned to post here after that, but they were awake when I got back.

I decided on some sneaky meal plans for my friends. They're in my diary so I won't rewrite here, but I'm very proud of myself !

Looking forward to 'losing' with you in the Halloween Challenge!

Hey there... just wanted to stop by & see how you are doing this week. Guzzling that water I hope?

Anyway hope life is treating you wonderfully & we lose a lot of weight this week. :)

That was great losing the 11.5 lbs in August! That was a good steady pace. Just keep doing what you are doing and you should see similar results this month too!
Let's keep the ball rolling and the water chugging *L*

Well this week is almost over and I have been drinking a lot of water for the hc. I hadnt see a change on the scale this week yet:(. I hope by weigh in day it changes.

Good luck dear. I am scared to death of tomorrow's weigh in. Hopefully we'll both have good news in the morning. I've been drinking the water, too--I think I've drunk at least 1 of the 5 Great Lakes surrounding me!!:D

I hear you on the scale not cooperating. I thought drinking all this water would help, but it seems to be making me stay the same not lose. argh. Hopefully its one of those takes a while to kick in & then pays off big time things.

:DYeah the scale finally moved. I weighed today and I was down 2.5 for this week. I was soooo worried it wasnt going to change from all the water I have been drinking.

I hope you all have a great weigh in too.

Congrats on the 2.5lbs!! Woohoo! That's wonderful.:beerchug::beerchug: <---full of foaming water--not beer! haha

Well I found out my hubby will be home on friday:D. It has almost been 4 months since we have seen each other so I am very excited. This no getting on the scale is driving me nutts. I am wanting to see if I am losing but I am hanging in there. I really wanted to be down 20 lbs by the time he got home. So unless i lose 4.5 lbs this week I dont think I will be there, but I will be close. I just hope he can see a differance in me.

Congrats to you on being reunited with your hubby! I'm sure he will see a differance . You've done such a good job.

We all can get on the scale soon at least , I know exactly where you are coming from wanting to know where you're at *L*
