In the last year I have battled with depression,sickness, and gaining weight. I have gain about 50 pounds in a year yikes! I am here today because I am getting my life back on track. I have an exercise routine planned out already and starting it this afternoon. I also have to start eating healthier. More fruits and veggies, I have started a food journal, to help me manage my portions and food intake. I appreciate any type of tips, or stories that would help me in my journey. I want to get to my goal weight to 150 lbs. My first goal is to get under 200 lbs though. Tonight I am going to the gym to do a cardio workout!
 
Hey man, been there!! this has been the WORST year for me....but we can do it! I'm glad your gonna start tonight and not the infamous "tomorrow" that never comes....way to take control!
 
Way to go with making the commitment and getting started right away. The two biggest things that helped me was to start out slow and plan my meals in advance.


Keeping a food journal is a great step and after you've recorded everything for a few days you'll be able to look at it and see if it's generally heading in the right direction. Even the process of keeping the food journal will result in you making better choices since knowing that you're going to record it, forces us to think twice about what you're going to eat. That's the way it has been for me at least.

I highly recommend Katahn's books even if U don't do Rotation! Best of Luck!
