Great job on the loss this week. I think if you can keep up the good work for the last couple months of cold, when the nice weather comes you should be in great position to take you right on through the summer. We all tend to be more active in nicer weather, not just with exercise but because we tend to not to be confined to smaller spaces.

Finished off today about 41 over which I am fine with. I'm a little unhappy that I ate when I really didn't feel at all like eating. I had over 200 cals left just before 9pm and really wasn't hungry, but I saw cals left and went and looked in the kitchen. It's not bad because I had those cals left and 41 over really isn't going to affect my weight loss at all, but still, I didn't even feel like eating and should have left it at that. I think next week I am going to do 1500 calories monday-friday as there is another horse show next weekend and I may end up eating over my calories so want to buy myself some calories. I think what I am gonna do is eat 1500 calories and 'bank' those 300 calories a day. Then add those up and see what I get. If I eat 1500 calories everyday I would have an extra 1500 calories. Then I would split those between saturday and sunday so I had an extra 750 a day. Which means I could eat up to 2550 cals both days and still have the correct deficit. And no matter what I would stay in that limit. And if I had eaten above 1500 a day or 2 during the week and only ended up with 900 extra cals (extra 450 a day) I would be able to eat only 2250 sat and sun.
This way I have to still keep calories in mind, while not going over my weekly deficit and yet having a strict number so I can't just eat whatever without thought. I will still see a 'gain' on the scales on Monday but it will just be water weight and should not affect my actual loss at all.

Mystic I think your 1500 cals idea will work great for you. Although you have been doing great!

" I will still see a 'gain' on the scales on Monday but it will just be water weight and should not affect my actual loss at all. " I so where you coming from with this! I just heard about how "raw" numbers can be misleading..
You are doing really great sticking with your calories :)

Thanks. :)
Stayed right around my calorie range today. About 12 cals over but I am not fussed about that. Didn't do a thing all day though. Can't wait to get back to riding!!! Need it so bad. My vet appointment got moved from Wednesday to Friday so I have 2 extra days to fret about it and 2 extra days of not riding (if he is actually healed when we x-ray). I just want to know if my plans are still workable or not. Arg! I want it to be friday!

Whoops. Ended up a little over calories today. I am at my parent's house this weekend which always makes things harder, I also didn't leave the house today and so had to try to fight off some boredom eating. My parents tend to have chocolate, ice cream, chips, and such in their house. I ended up having some peanuts which are SO high in calories!! I ended up about 270 calories over.
Tomorrow I am going out with a friend to Red Lobster. I really wish that the meals didn't come with salads to start. That's an extra near 300 calories for something I could do without. I might just ask them not to bring me a salad (even though I am paying for it anyways). Depending on how my calories go tomorrow I will either have Create Your Own Meal Snow Crab Legs and Crab Linguine or just a full order of Snow Crabs. Crab is really low in calorie (plus takes a lot of work to eat so you burn some cals too, haha)

Hey Mystic-
best wishes for the vet appointment Friday - have my fingers crossed for you& your horse that all goes well...

good work on keeping those calories in line.. no worries on just a few over- the scale won't notice...

RedLobster- I had a neat supper there just a couple weeks ago - was on the "specials" menu- baked in parchment- tilapia+roasted veg - was totally flavourful- yummy, and I had a side green salad with oil/vinegar dressing( that was on the side- & I added myself - sparingly)..

hope the dinner out is nice, I've never tried snow-crabs... they sound yummy ...

cheers, Maryann

Well, Red Lobster was really good and... cost me 1700 calories! Whoops. Ended up at about 3200 calories today, hehe. Meh, it happens. But I am gonna try for 1500 all next week on weekdays (even tomorrow which is a day off work too so it will be a bit tougher). Then I am gonna only allow myself 2000 calories on the weekend per day for the show. Then maybe try to do 1500 on weekdays the next week too if my weight loss next week isn't great.
I don't love high cal days but I don't hate them either. I will want to have some high cal days while maintaining so working them in while losing will help teach me to deal with them then. As long as I make sure the scale is still going the way I want at a speed I can accept that's all that matters to me.

Hey Mystic - good thinking - the higher-cal days for practice with maintenance,,,, that way- U can start to get a feel for what maintenance cals' will be for you.

Good plan on 1,500 daily this week- U will rock it.

...hmm - I should look up what my maintenance cals limit is... then , at least when it's a higher cal day- would still have the goal to keep in maintenance at least ,,,

Like your plan Mystic !

Well, Red Lobster was really good and... cost me 1700 calories!
Whoa! Well at least you enjoyed yourself.

There's very little weight loss damage you can do to yourself in one day. It's when those 'one days' spiral into a week or two weeks or two months that the problems arise. Mine spiraled into 12 years.

So just get back on the horse the next day, in your case both figuratively and literally.

Thanks guys. I still feel very dedicated to losing this weight so I am not worried about a few days. However I do have to keep an eye on if the scale stops moving in the right direction which will tell me that I am having too many whoops days.
I am gonna not allow myself to be so relaxed about my eating this next weekend like I originally thought. I am gonna try to bring along all food except for one meal each day and keep myself at 1800 cals a day. Can't have bad weekends every weekend or it will start affecting my weight loss.

Hey agree with you - it's hard to make each weekend a bad one..I learned that the hard way.
Good luck with watching the calories more!
