Bulking

Im 142 lbs and I gotta bulk up to about 155 lbs then cut back down to 150. What exactly should I be eating and how much of it? How much lifting/week? How much cardio? Any specific time of day? Should I eat past 9?

High cals, high protein. Theres lots of posts like this that have been answer, give them a shot.

Give your muscles at least 48 hours to rest, do about 10 reps per set.

As little cardio as possible. I am bulking too, I stick with just 1 day of cardio for my heart.

I hear the morning is the best time to work out, but I'm not 100% on that. I don't think it really matters. Don't do it right before you go to sleep, because it will make falling asleep harder.

Eat past 9? I do all the time. Many doctors, and personal trainers will say not to because it can slow down your metabalism. The way my doctor put it to me is like this: While you are resting is the time your muscles build, not when you are working out. If you don't have enough food in your stomach while you're asleep, you're not supplying your body with enough energy to repair during the night.

I don't know if thats 100% true, but I believe it.

what the...werent you cutting as of sometime recent, like yesterday? what happened?

You need to be eating a lot of everything, protein, carbs, good fats, etc. Try to get some with every meal and snack. Eat often, at least every 2-3 hours. The 'how much' depends on your stats, activity level, how much you eat right now, etc.

Yes eat past 9, eat all of the time, even before bed, try to limit the before bed to protein though, preferably casein.

No specific time.

Limit cardio, once a week at a moderate level would be good. Light cardio is ok for a warmup on lifting days, but limit extensive cardio.

there isn't a certain amount of lifting, or per week. work in the 8-12 rep range though.

i WAS cutting but I talked to someone who's very expierienced and they told me I need to gain weight before I can achieve a nice 6 pack.

Reduce reps to 4-7 reps per set with heavy weight.

Even though that rep range will gain mass the optimal range for muscle hypertrophy is 8- 12 repitions also take some calcium if you dont get enough milk. Calcium is the key ingrediant in muscle contraction.
