Building muscle, w/ out the gym?

I saw a pretty interesting guide on stuff such as incline/decline pushups, pullups, tricep dips, and alot of other things only using yourself and a chair or bench.

I wanted to know where that is, or if anyone knows what I am talking about because I just don't have the time for the gym.

I have some dumbells and plan on getting some heavier one's, but other than that I really dont have any body building stuff.

There are a lot of things you could do in the house using just your body and a chair or bench (Those you mentioned are good ones). I know when I was in bootcamp for the Marine Corps, we didn't use weights or any other gym equipment and we were in the best shape ever. However, I highly doubt without any type of weights (Or perhaps using boulders for carrying, or some other type of object that would be heavier), you aren't really going to be able to build a lot of mass. Just my thoughts though.

If you end up getting serious about wanting to gain muscle you probably have to get a membership or something like the bowflex. it all depends on what you goals are. I have the bowflex and put on some mass but dumbells take care of a lot of different groups so you might be fine with just those again it just all depends what your goals are

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.php?MainMuscle=&Equip=Dumbbell&Isolation=

94 exercises with dumb bells queried. A lot of them are the same but the site gives you detailed descriptions, pictures and videos so you can learn them properly.

You can actually do almost anything with dumb bells... anything upper body, and heck.. never even thought to do calve raises off them (found it on the site).

But you'll probably need a good variety of dumb bells from start to end. Not just when you get stronger.. but, for example: I curl, press, and fly with 20lb weights right now. But I can't do laterals or wrist curls with them... set of 10s for that. And I should go buy a set of 30 lb dumbbells for my lunges and squats .

Hi

You don't have time for the gym?
The only one your kidding is yourself.
A quality gym routine can be completed in 30 mins. EASY. BOTTOM LINE.
Buying dumbells is your next best bet.

Read a book

I recently read "Arnold:The Education of a Bodybuilder" He writes a whole section on at home excersises to get pumped up. Great book by the way, it's got his early history, workout routines, and how he got big.

Roids. Didn't he use them? Maybe what I'm thinking is that they weren't illegal or known about when he was using them and all that junk...

Yes, I think he was, but he still gives some good advice on lifting I think.
