building ab muscles?

Hey, im really big into the whole ab workout stuff, to be honest, im not trying to gain muscle anywhere else, i really wanna lose fat first to get a 6 pack, then maybe think about gaining muscle

im 15 years old, 5 11, 168 pounds i think, somthin like that, im a little overweight im not sure, i want to try and lose fat to get that nice 6 pack goin, does anybody have any tips on how to train my abs? so far for the past week ive been doing 1.5-2.5 miles thats including warmup cooldowns, and doing 30 crunches, 10 Up-down in outs with my legs, and 40 russian twists everyday, cept sundays i take my break, because i know your body needs rest.

You should do both. It takes awhile before you start to see a lot of definition in your abs. Researchers contribute about 70% of the 6 pack showing, to diet and cardio. But you still have to build ab muscles before you can see them. So keep building muscle, just do different things really for abs. Sometimes you'll get a great burn with a certain set of exercises and never again when you do the same set of exercises a couple of times, so change it up.
