Well I have a tiny bit of good news and a big bucket cry me a river of bad news
The good news- weighed in this morning 271.6
The bad news- I have broken my ankle/upper foot. I have surgery in the morning and will be non-weight bearing for 8 weeks and it could be 6 months till I can exercise walk again if ever. For you medical types I have shattered my navicular, broken my cuboid and have a bad separation of something else in there that I haven't bothered to memorize. Its pretty bad. I have one surgery to install something called a frame which my Doctor says will get it under control until he feels comfortable pinning and plating it which will be surgery #2 in a few weeks.
I did all this slipping while decending stairs in slick socks. Holy crap! Doc says my foot was likely weakened due to years of diabetes. He says this surgery will help with that as well. So there is a slim ray of light.

Just as I hit the 40lb lost mark...crap!

I have cut my calories to 1200 in hopes that I can maybe lose a pound every week or 2 but that's just not much food for a guy that likes to eat. Exercise has been my crutch in this weight loss and now that's gone for a while.
I don't guess I will be posting for a few days. If I do pardon if Im loopy on pain meds

I guess Im being tested

Ouch! I´m so sorry to hear that, Brawny :grouphug: Think you´ll be able to come up with at least some sit-down exercises? Wishing your surgeon a steady hand and clear head and you swift healing.

I am so sorry to hear about your injury. Sometimes though, such things eventually turn out to be blessings in disguise. I hope this does for you. Feel better Wishes!
:(

Commiserations dude. I've had occasional injury set backs but this is in the spectacular league. Activity is at the core of what kick starts my health endeavours. Having had a cast from ankle to groin for a femur crack, I have an idea of the mobility issues and obstacles with stairs, slippery or uneven ground, bathing, driving... The best part was probably all the weight I lost in my leg.... No wait, that was muscle atrophy. Well at least I looked funny with one leg that had hopped up and down stairs for months while the other had withered. Well at least it was funny for all the others in gym class.

Sucks big time. Hope it heals well and quickly.

Oh nooo! So sorry to hear about your poor foot. What about some free weights and upper body resistance while lower is on the mend? It would at least give you something ...

:D I like that picture. I also like surgery going well and having your personal therapist looking after you.
