Brawny's time machine

You just reminded me, the other day for the first time my trainer had me do stationary bike as my cardio warmup. I hadn't really thought about it at the time, but later I realized that my usual problems with sitting on bike seats (stationary or otherwise) was gone. I stopped riding bicycles because they caused intense seat pain. But now that I fit on the seat better, maybe that will be lessened?

May have to buy a new bike around the end of September.

I know you mean that quote to relate to weight loss but I'm a smoker who wants to quit and I've just saved it on my computer to show to my other half later! Great quote xx

So true Sunflower...it can apply to any goal!

Well I have just gone through yalls threads and left tidbits of encouragement, humor and wisdom (ha) so...I better practice what I preach and go workout now...poof (he vanishes in a cloud of motivation)

Workout is over! Did 47 minutes and 12.5 miles on the ol stationary bike with the help of an eclectic music mix from the 80s-2010s. Then I actually did just a bit of cross fit. Getting a little stronger, and reclaiming some stamina! Now if the scale gods will cooperate....

Nice workout Brawny!
I've become addicted to a good beat music, love it, the rythm just makes one going.

Cross fit is combining several body weight exercise in a row so that you get strength training and cardio....errr or something like that. I did lunges then pushups then situps then lunges.....then I threw up...almost

Clarissa-I couldn't exercise without tunes....some read, some watch TV while they do the stationary bike or elliptical, but for me it's gotta be lively tunes

I was defensive tackle.....every quarterback's nightmare. I played at a.weight of 246....a very muscular 246. I think I would be still to fat at 246 today but I still have more than 30 lb to go before I find out.

Cross fit is really great when you are young enough and fit enough to handle it. I am hoping in a few weeks to build into it more.

For now...it's off to the bike...I have exercised 5 out of six days in July .
(after I ride here in a few minutes)
I will hit yalls threads later and offer insightful yet encouraging words of wisdom....or urrrr sum thin like that
Carpe July!

Defensive tackle! Good thing it was back then. They make these poor kids bulk up to close to 300 pounds now to play that position.

I was small for a D tackle even then, but I was very quick and I could get around those big fatty offensive linemen with a head slap and an outside rush....Now (tear in his eye) I Am The Big Fatty......dang dang dang!

Did 14 miles on the bike in 53 minutes my July total is now 58 miles my goal remains 150 but I should tear that up and possibly break 200 miles.

Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It goes by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

I like this. I have been waiting for a good time to start exercising but i just need to start. It's never going to be a perfect time.

You are doing really well with your miles. Is it just from the bike??

Very true angel...just tying your shoe laces on you exercise shoes and putting one foot in front of the other is the hardest part.

Rode 8.25 miles in 31 minutes today. My butt was sore from that 14 mile ride yesterday. Taking a rest day tomorrow so I really gotta eat well. 4 day weekend is over...crud!

That Which Gives Purpose Building on your "Why", what is your deeper purpose behind losing weight? How will your life be better if you lose the weight?

Trying to Create a compelling picture for myself that is rich in detail of how my life will be better if I stay with this weightloss/fitness plan

What will you be doing?
I will be moving more and better with more energy to enjoy life and not having to sit an rest while on excursions. I will be getting more done at work and at home. I will be going to the Doctor much less and I will be on fewer medications and maybe off insulin
Who will you be doing it with?
I will be with family and friends perhaps even some old friends who I will not want to hide from because I have gained weight since I saw them last.
Where will you be?
Outside more, Doing more active things like hiking and lake sports.
Will the motivation to exercise come naturally?
After only 6 weeks on plan, it already does. I have always enjoyed exercise but somehow let overeating limit what I could do. I feel that if I just stay the course for a few more weeks /months that I will want to exercise in some new ways and reclaim some old favorites like hiking and jogging
How will you feel when you're there?
Pretty damn good, knowingb that finally after many faulty attempts and partial successes that I finally put it together long enough to get it done.
What clothes will you be wearing- or not wearing ; ) ?
Mostly new ones, but I have a couple of old pairs of jeans in the back of my closet that I sure would like to fit into again.

Focus, Focus < Focus!

Isn't that the oddest feeling? I had the same thing, and I know that virtually none of them really gave two shits how much I weighed. Not sure why I had that emotion but I did.

Love your little question and answer bit--might steal it if that's okay. Glad to see you being positive and looking to the future! xox
