Well here I am......again

Heres the semi-ugly report:

Tried to put on my smaller size jeans 40" waist....so tight I almost got an anurism...

I havent weighed yet but I figgure Im up 10lbs or so.

I guess I will fight this battle forever.

I am back on here because I need this place. I fell off when I got really really busy last spring.

I exercised this morning and have eaten perfectly so far (half a day, big deal...but its a start)

Any of my old buds on here?

I will post my weight and my new goals soon.

Also thanks to my ol bud feelin gooder for the email to get me re-started toward health

Great to see you back and I get a feeling we're about to see a serious run of good days ahead.

Have you jumped back on the stationary bike yet?

AHey Brawny,
Good to see you back! You know, it all comes down to making one good choice after another...so ...the good news is, you're back, and we're happy to have you...you always make me smile! I didn't gain weight, but I have struggled this summer with a plateau, then, got a new scale and it weighed me 6 pounds heavier than my old one...I'm just now getting back to where I thought I was before the new scale! I remember when you went through that...sucks, but I'm over it now...I think!

Looking forward to keeping up with you again! You see feelinggooder is still here too :), but havn 't seen old school around at all:-(...

Good choices my friend...it's all about choices!

Sarah

Thanks my old friends...Hoping for renewal as the weather cools.

Exercised again this morning and ate almost perfect yesterday (abouy 1900 calories)

Here is my plan It is kinda pitiful compaired to where I was last Feb but like Sarah said...Its all about good choices.

Wieght this morning 288.8. I need to go back and see where I got to lat spting but I am up at least 10 I think

Goals for week

Exercise at least 5 times (already got 2)

Exercise twice (short evening workout to go with my longer morning one) I split some firewood last night so I acounting that as one.

Eat less than 2000 calories every day

Eat less than 1800 calories twice

Work on my dissertaion 3 times (not a fitness goal but its crunch time with that thing and I gotta get it done.

I signed back on yesterday and I must admit I did so with a heavy heart. It was like ..sigh...here I go again...what this like the thousandth time I try to lose some weight? But I poked around on here...saw a couple of old friends and tried to offer some encouragement to some newbies and I kinda got enthusiastic (a bit). So time to get busy livin or get busy dyin...I choose livin!

Ok I went back and looked at my old posts....end of Feb last year I was 276.....That means I am up 12 lbs.....That pisses me off...but who is to blame? That guy I saw in the mirror this morning when I was shaving....Im gonna internalize this anger and shape it into motivation.... At least I didnt get back over 300. My birthday is Nov. 17th...wonder what I could weigh by then? Maybe I can give myself a present for my 48th?

Those 12 lbs won't be long dropping. Few good weeks and a few cord of wood cutting and you'll be back under 275 before you know it.

I like the goals for the week. You're gonna get that snowball of momentum rolling again.

hey brawny you sound about like me... I got the pile of clothes that stopped fitting because I gained back and I also feel like I will struggle forever... but besides a little backsliding I feel that I am getting uphill and here we are still working at it! Glad you are back! stay put! I need people to talk to on here that way I will get motivated to stick around here too. :)

Thanks my friends

3 days of exercise in a row....so far so good

Made it through a free business lunch today with about a 600 calorie intake....took a bit of determination but the memory of trying to put on those jeans was still fresh on my mind.

ate about 1900 cal again last night...If I am exercising, I can loose at that level but 1500-1800 would be perfect...but hey...Its not about being perfect...it about being better!

Great job on making three in a row and holding off on the free lunch (thought those didn't exist?)

I wouldn't bother trying to get the calorie intake any lower than 1900 which is also on the low side I would think. On any given day your body is likely burning over 2400 calories and that would be without getting out of bed. There are a few good calculators out there to help figure out your BMR and the one I used for a guide can be found at fat2fitradio . com.

I think that 2400-2500 is spot on for me. And speaking of that...thats exactly what I had yesterday... I was fine until my 16 and 14 year old son's who are both athletes and eat 5000 calories a day just to maintain (not joking) hit the kitchen at about 9 last night and good ol dad joined them. I scarfed down like 700 calories. Then eating that late made me sleep poorly...Why do i do the things I do?

Oh well....so far so good today....made myself a health lunch...planning a healthy dinner....Maybe I can get myself a shock collar that kicks in about 7.p.m. and activates when I go in the kitchen. Oh well I would probably eat dorritos in between the shocks

LOL!!!!! That is some great stuff!!! Really thanks for the laugh this morning it is great to get in a laugh! I totally relate, my kids eat eat eat and its hard not to join, and when they ask me to get food before bed every night... well its hard enough for me to stay out of kitchen without them tempting me. Wow a shock collar for the kitchen area that's a great idea... hmmm Also thanks for the reminder that all improvement is good.... doesn't have to be perfection.

A shock collar sounds like fun, of course I'd likely find myself trying to figure out a way to use it to cook my food...

this chicken wings tastes so... bzzzzzzzzzzzttt.... good

Electroshocked chicken wings...amazing what sounds yummy when your trying to lose weight.

Well I am right on track to reach my exercise goals for the week and only a bit off on my calorie intake goals.

Hope to have a good weekend activity wise. I am going to go ahead and weigh in in the morning even though I have only had 5 days since I got re-started. I like the Sat. Morning weigh in. I usually do pretty good on the first week anyway.

Will likely not post till monday.

Have a great weekend friends!

Hi Brawny thank's for stopping and writing in my diary!

I can't wait to see your weigh in results, getting back on track is hard but at least it's not more than 12 pounds, it could have just as easily been more than that. You are doing very good on your excercising and I'm glad you decided to get back on track and come back to this forum too.

OH, I too feel like I will fight this forever, a little part of myself feels it isn't fair because I see lot's of skinnies out there who eat whatever they want all the time, but that just can't be us and we've got to learn to be ok with that. But when you said you felt like you would be fighting this forever, it just struck something in me because I feel the exact same way and I've got to find some way to deal with that and I'm pretty worried about maintaining it when I get to where I want to be,.. but we will figure it out!

You're doing so great and I can't wait to see your weigh in results tomorrow ;)

Keep up the good work Brawny!!

AHey Brawny, stay away from the kitchen at night man...find another way to spend some good quality time with those boys! (easier said than done!)
Looking forward to cheering you on along the way!

Sarah

Weigh in results......dum da dumm...(thats weigh in result music by the way)....286!

Lost 2.8 ! Pretty good because my eating faltered a bit a couple of times. It just shows you don't have to be perfect. I find if I hit about 90 or even 85% of my eating and exercise goals. I can still lose.

My oldest son caught a 41 yard touchdown pass in the football game Friday night and we won a wild close game. I was one proud papa. His little brother also did well in the last JV game. I am going to attempt to post a picture

I am actually fired up for this week. Exercised this morning and upped my time 3 whole minutes! (savor the small victories)

My son is # 62 This is from a recent scrimmage so we are in our crummy Jerseys

Congrats on the weight loss and the proud papa moments. Great photo, can see that he's got a nice wide stance and doing a great job holding off the charge.

It would appear that I have found the pounds you lost last week :)

Tiny victory report- After my school board meeting last night I started to hit the local quick stop for some junk food. (isnt it sad...I was craving these greasy fried burritos that they have there...so gross!) Anyway...I fought off the urge... I am a rock...so far

Rode bike again this morning, packed a healthy lunch...so far so good

Anybody seen that pokey thing you use to put a new hole in your belt when it gets too big? ...Im gonna need that thing!

Heading home ...ready to do battle against the evening munchies..

Starting to feel better about my program. I have got a tiny snowball started

By snowball I mean

Activity leads to results leads to satisfaction leads to more activity.....
