Rode 8.14 miles in 31 minutes.
As usual I felt much better after I exercised than I did before. You would think that would make it easier to begin each session wouldn't you?
I think I can, I think I can...
You'd think you'd remember how crummy you feel when you skip exercising for a few days, too, and yet...

Well final report before I turn out the light on the day.
Ate very well ...1300 calories a little low but I have a weigh in looming
Rode bike 31 minutes 8.02 miles
Good day at work
Nice visit with friends this evening
Cold Shiner pale blonde beer in the recliner to close out the day
Life ain't too bad

I was planning to have a quiet beer today, but D messaged to ask for a psychohygiene session so it'll probably end up being wine for me as well.

Cate and LaMa I hop your evening was as pleasant as mine was.

Man that was a quick night! Slept like a baby. Seven hours without waking up once! I usually wake several times feeling as if the bed is beating me up. I am half way through my first cup of coffee so my eyes are beginning to open, speaking of coffe, I have a funny story to tell. My wife is a Physical Therapist who does home health. She loves working with old people. Well she has this 96 year old little lady patient. When she gets to the lady's house the lady is sitting there with a giant cup of coffe. Really it was more like a bowl with a handle. My wife asked her why she used that big of a cup. She replied..." Oh the doctor said I was only allowed one cup of coffee" ...That is the type of problem solving that I like!

:D My kind of old lady. Honestly: what are doctors thinking when they try to tell really old people what to do? Tell them the risk and let them decide for themselves whether they want to extend their life spam by half a percent or if they prefer to enjoy the things they have left.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I can relate to needing that morning pick me up.

I hear ya guys. We need to take more time to listen to little old people.
Mowens- The thought of hot coffee is what drags me out of bed in the mornings. It takes 2 cups at least to get me on my stationary bike. Then it takes some classic rock to keep me on it lol.

weigh in is in the morning guys. If I can stay away from the dark side I think I should get some downward movement of the dreaded scale.

I did have a nice evening thanks, Brawny :) & also slept very well.
I'm with you re old people. There should be more respect given to them & less lecturing.
I can't function without my morning coffee.
I hope the scales were kind.

Weigh in is in the morning. I'll post how it goes.
End of day report and reflect:
Ate 1300 calories.
Longest bike ride since I started my renewed efforts- 48 minutes 12.07 miles
I have put 2 very good days together because I fear the weigh in.
On a good note...after only 3 weeks The old body is doing much better with exercise. Three weeks ago 10 minutes on my bike was a real effort. Tonight 48 minutes was...gasp...enjoyable! I could have gone longer but didn't want to push it.
I am ever so slowly gaining a bit of momentum. Like I told Little John on his thread, I know what to do...I just gotta do it...for a long time!

Really glad to hear the biking is getting enjoyable again! But if you weigh every week: maybe don´t have two extremely low-calorie days before each weigh-in.

I think as long as he's doing it the same for each weigh-in, the delta will be the same, right?

Good luck on the weigh-in!

Yup, which is why it´s a waste of time if the goal is to get the scale down lower for this one weigh-in. Don´t start down that road.

Well here is the weigh in report

300.8! That's 3.4lbs off this week. Honestly that's better than I expected. I was thinking 2 would be good.
Now...I am so close to getting back in the 200s that I am pretty motivated. However I fully expect one of those weeks where my body tries to hang on to some weight to come my way soon. Not gonna freak out over this. Just gonna eat 1500-1800 a day maybe 2000 once in a while and exercise.
Speaking of exercise...that's what I am most excited about. I am seeing a lot of benefits from that. Some I did not expect...Time for a short list:

Brawny's expected and unexpected benefits from 3 weeks of exercising 4-5 times a week:
1. Gained strength and endurance fasted than expected.
2. I live in a 2 story house. I used to try and avoid going up the stairs. I would come down in the morning and wait till bed time to go up. Well that seems much easier now. I went up 2 or 3 times yesterday and didn't really think about it.
3. I have a bad hip. I was worried that it would give me trouble as I started to exercise again. Well the opposite had happened. It feels a great deal better!
4. I have more energy during the work day
5. I am sleeping better (not perfect but improved)
6. Blood sugar is improved
7.morning Blood pressure has gone from 150/100 range to 130/80 range
