Brandy's Success Diary

Kim- that was a funny episode!

Sometimes I just have awful feelings that I can't get this weight loss thing down. I lose, and just gain it all back. I have the determination, but I feel like everyone is against me. I need to do it myself. I will make a set eating plan for myself and stick to it. I will walk every day. Rain or shine. I hate having a low self esteem because I'm overweight, and then just adding to the problem. It's ridiculous. I'm ridiculous for doing it.

I say NO MORE.

Okay, look at your ticker. You ARE doing it, losing weight that is. Now for some perspective: You are how old, early 20's? I'm 43. I've been doing the wrong things for many years. I will never be able to undo all of the damage I've done to myself. I can IMPROVE where I am, but never repair all of it. That isn't going to stop me from doing my damndest to fix what I can.

You, on the other hand, have not yet done much, if any, permanent damage to yourself. Seize the opportunity, like you have been doing and take control of it.

WW meeting leader once asked a question: "If you were at your goal weight right now, and somebody offered you a brand new corvette to put all the weight back on, would you do it?" The answer in the room was a resounding "no"
She then asked, "Then why would you do it for a cookie?"

Think about it...

reluctantcabbie- you are totally right. I really like you coming by my diary, because somehow you always push me further. You make me wake up. I'm lazy- one reason I put on all the weight. I need to break the habit before I do some damage. I'm only 19 years old. I'll be 20 in a couple weeks. Thank you so much for supporting me.

Hi Brandy,

Thanks for popping by my diary! Yeah, I know I need to post more! Im glad to see you are still doing very good with your weight loss! Keep plugging along, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Your doing great.

Hi Brandy! Just wanted to stop by and give my support. I'm echoing previous posters, but look at your ticker!!! It's awesome! You CAN do this! You're already doing it!

Thanks for stopping by Eldaweesda and Mishi.

I've been doing ok. I've taken up a new hobby. I have been making my own bags and purses. I've really only made one, but I've been designing a bunch. I made a basic shaped purse, and then put a Halloween fabric on the outside and a black pleather material on the inside. It's really simple, but I'm really proud. Now that I know the basics, I can make it fancier.

Maybe I'll keep my mind off food at night by involving myself in this habit.

Wow...that's really a cool way to put it....wish my WW group leader had been that inspiring, lol. Maybe I'd have kept goin.

Hey Brandy, wanted to come by and say hi while I'm on a much faster computer at the college. Dial up at home just makes me frustrated and takes forever. That's awesome about your new hobby. You taking orders? lol. You should post pics of them when you finish so we can see :D

Actually, she was an extremely cool WW leader. She was a little wiry bundle of energy in her 50''s that could outmove people half her age, and funny to boot. She also used to weigh about 60 lbs more than she did in the meetings, so she had been there before (only about 5'1" so 60 lbs was a fair bit).

The only reason I stopped was $$. It just wasn't in the budget.

Hobbies are very cool, and they keep you mind from going to the fridge... Post pics! We like looking at stuf like that. I love things that are made by hand, I enjoy woodworking myself. Check out pics of my kayak in the off topic "five things" thread. That kept me busy I'll tell ya!

Thank you reluctantcabbie and lisa for coming by!!!

I have added to my VitaBella site. I have added a section of recipes that I've made in class, and a section for my arts and crafts. I only have 1 recipe up right now, but I will do more... and some will be very healthy. I need to figure out a way to set up a list, so people don't have to scroll to find things. But check it out...

I added attachments of 4 things. 2 are the Halloween purse I made, and the other 2 are the dishes I made in class on thursday! I didn't eat any, but they are all fun to cook. We cook for a dining room of 65 people or more every week. GOOD learning experience! lol. I love the culinary arts.

Fun stuff!!

BTW, you're killing me!!! :drool5: Chicken Marsala is one of my absolute favorite Italian dishes of all time!!!

lol. Everything smells so effin good in that class. Its overwhelming smelling all these delicious foods that we make. But at the end of the day, I usually start our clean up, and never get around to eating. lol.

Your purses look cool and your food yummy. :drool5: I have a friend here who makes purses/bags, wallets out of used clothes. She's also been making them from laminated comics pages. She's also a scrapbooker who makes really cool scrapbooks. Here's her website:

She's doing pretty well at selling things. Are you looking to supplement your income with your bags? That would be cool. :)

with so much going on in my life it's so hard to concentrate on exercise and dieting. So every night I will make a list of foods I will eat, exercise I will do, and things that need to get done. I think this method will let me tailor my food and exercise to what I have to do that day. We'll see how it goes!

Wow Brandy I am impressed with the bag. It is so cute! I have been thinking of doing stuff like that too. There was a lady on my myspace who made cute purses and aprons and she closed her business. They were so cute and it looks so fun! I am uber impressed. Also impressed with your culinary skill. Did I tell you I burned some artichokes?? It's basically a matter of boiling water and I messed it up lol. but I made some darn good chicken soup;) lol
I hope you have a great weekend. Being busy is nice because it can keep you from mindlessly eating but it can also hamper exercise and good nutrition. Sounds like a good plan. I hope you have a very good weekend!

thanks michelle. I will have to mail you some good recipes that you might like. I really live culinary arts, and it's something I'm really good at. It's just hard to stay away from it afterwards! LOL. Actually at home the meals I eat are very simple. I love grilled cheese! LOL. But when I have to cook for someone else I feel the need to go all out! Haha. And on a complete other side of me, I love to sew. I'm not amazing, but I have a lot of fun, and I'm learning. I hope to sell them some day. I'm hoping it will take my mind off of comfort eating!

Hey you seem pretty good to me. The only really successful thing I have sewn is drapes for my son's room. They were really nice but they were essentially squares lol. You talk a lot about not being able to touch the food you cook when you get all "chef" with it. I am assuming because it's seen as unhealthy? The only reason I mention it is because on BL (of course I am hooked on the show as always) they have that chef guy... crap can't remember his name right this second and he shows them how to make healthy and fabulous meals. Maybe you could trend towards the healthy side in your training so when you go out into the world you can have "Brandy's Healthy Bistro" lol or something like that... with a little hand made purse gift shop in the lobby ;) lol
