br!na's weightloss diary

Yes, icy... Very busy... And apparently, it just won't stop. I got a call from the school principal this morning. Before school started, all of the students were in the gym. FD talks with her hands, and becomes very animated with her gestures. While she was talking, she accidentally hit a student close to her. He turned around and slapped her across the face really hard. And FD decided not to just hit him back, she grabbed a bamboo stick (that another student had brought for a project) and beat the crap out of the boy. And accidentally hit a few other people in the process. So she has three days of in school suspension. And we took her phone and dvd player away and she's not allowed to play the Wii.
She had to have consequences. Though I'm probably not being hard enough about this. But I probably would have done the same thing that she did. And she honestly wouldn't be in this much trouble is she had just used her hand to hit him back, instead of grabbing something to use as a weapon. But, it is what it is. Unfortunately, her case worker is in China for 10 days on vacation, and her therapist's office is closed today. So, I will have to call on monday and have them make an extra appt for her this month. :(

Anyways- my weigh in was 184.2 this morning! So, I've finally gotten past 185 again. Now I just have to concentrate on making it to the 170s!!

I hope you guys are having a better Friday the 13th than I am!! :)

Yikes! That is not cool! I agree her using the weapon made it worse (even more so that it was another student's project). Hope you get things worked out and she knows what she did was wrong and doesn't do anything like that again. Hope the other student is OK too (while one part of me thinks he kinda deserves it, it was still very wrong).

Glad you are back under 185 thought! That's great news :) Hope it keeps going down!

Ah...the fun of being a parent -- needing to be supportive but also having to be a judge! Sounds like you handled it well, Br!na. Not sure what I would do if one of my daughters were in that situation.

Congrats on getting back into the low 180's!

Thanks you guys. FD knows she was wrong. And took her punishment like a champ. It ends today, so she's happy! She also has her Xmas play tonight, she's excited about that. I'm just ready for it to be over. Haha.

Is anyone else having trouble with the holiday season? Is affecting anyone's diet? I'm still hitting the gym! Which I'm proud of. But my eating habits have taken a hit. There are so many sweets around. And while I'm doing better than I thought I would, I'm not resisting all of it. I'm still below 185. But I'm not moving any lower. And I know its because of my eating. Plus, I have the TOM blues. :( so I'm happy that I'm still below 185, considering I know I have water weight. So, maybe I have dropped a little lower, and I will see the change after TOM is gone.

Idk, I guess this time.of year frustrates me. I'm stressed because of money, having to buy all the gifts and still pay bills. I'm hoping once Xmas is over and things calm down, i will be able to get my eating back under control.

I hope you guys are having a better holiday season than I am! May you resist all the bad food! :)

Glad FD knows what she did was wrong, she seems like a good kid so that does not surprise me.

I have been fairly good with the food. Appear to be having a piece of chocolate a day now but I'm OK with that. I'm sure I will go crazy with bad food and alcohol on New Years Eve, but hopefully Christmas will be OK unless we end up being invited out to someone's place for dinner last minute like last year.

I think everyone stresses about money at this time. A and I do not buy gifts for anyone but us, and I think we did decently for how much money we spent this time. Then again we have done $300 trips to Walmart on batteries and movies on Boxing Day so we shall see how that goes this year.

May you have the strength and will power to resist those evil sweets!

Hi br!na...my neighbor just brought over a HUGE basket filled with 10 different kinds of cookies, rice crispy treats and my favorite key lime pound cake. :( So I do understand where you are coming from. At work tomorrow I know I will get a tray from a lady with about the same amount of stuff.

I feel really badly, but sometimes I just throw most of it away. I will bring some to my parents house too. I love sweets and could easily devour this stuff in a couple of days!

And I have also spent too much money on gifts. I'd like Christmas much better without the gifts. I think it was 4 years ago I wrote something funny about Christmas and my frustration with it. If I can find it I will post it in my diary.

BTW I was browsing around the forum and I saw your before and after pic. You look great!

I FINALLY hit a new low!!!!! 182.8 this morning! :) and of course it would have to be right before Xmas. Lol so when I eat Xmas dinner, it will go up! Lol but I'm happy to have at least seen this number, if only for a day! :)

I hope you guys are enjoying your holiday season! And having good luck with the scales!!

Thanks Icy! I had another new low this morning. Not much lower, but its something! 182.6. So .2 down from yesterday! :) yay!

So its Xmas eve. And I have lots to do! I've gotta cook for tomorrow and help my mom cook. And the wifey is working an 11 hour shift today. But at least she's off tomorrow!! :)
FD is sooo excited about Xmas! We told her she can open one gift tonight, which apparently she's never been allowed to do. So shes excited about that. Every other Xmas, she's gotten hygiene items. And no toys. There was one Xmas that she got a bunch of toys, but as soon as she unwrapped them, they were taken away and she never saw them again. So she said this will be her first real Xmas! I'm glad we were able to make it a good one! I'm excited for her. Lol
Well... I probably won't be back on for a couple of days! So MERRY CHRISTMAS..... HAPPY HOLIDAYS.... HAPPY KWANZA.... HAPPY HANUKAH!! I don't even know how to correctly spell that last one. Lol I hope I covered everyone! :)

YAY For the new low! Hope you had a great Christmas and have a wonderful New Years. And so happy that FD can experience a good Christmas with her new family this year, must be a really great feeling for her :)

Hello br!na.

You've done a lot of progress this year, and I hope you have equal or even more success for 2014! Keep working towards your goals. :)

I Hope you and your family have a happy new year, too.

Take care and enjoy the holidays. :)

Thanks icy and athala!!
I'm starting 2014 at 183.6. Which is a pound up from my new low. But that's not too bad! :)

Xmas was amazing! I got to spend it with my family and we had lots of fun! I got 13 new books which was awesome because I'm a huge bookworm! :) I also got a new mp3 player for the gym! And a couple of dvds! :) FD was very happy with her gifts!! She loved everything! Especially her bike! She's been on it everyday since Xmas! I have to say, though we bought the bike for her because she really wanted one, i had an alternative motive... I want her to be healthier. And a bike is really good exercise! :) FD has also started identifying herself as our daughter... Not just foster daughter. She introduces us as her moms. Which I am absolutely okay with. If she is comfortable with it, we are too! We still have a battle ahead of us with her biological family. But we will meet the battle head on, together!

Well, I hope everyone has a very happy new years day!! I will catch up more later! :)

Glad you had a great Xmas!

My house is a library. Almost every room has bookshelves. The bathrooms and the kitchen have books in cabinets and every other room has multiple books shelves. Even our hallway has book shelves. I only got 2 books and a magazine subscription this xmas, but I bought 3 more books over the holiday.

I feel like I haven't been here in forever! I promise I'm not giving up on you guys! Things have actually been going pretty well! :) I finally got my insurance card and went to a doctor. And i actually like her. She put me on some new meds. So i have been keeping to myself while getting used to them. She put me on neurontin for my fibro. And she gave me prilosec for my gastritis and esophagitis. And she took me off of my paxil because of weight gain. and put me on celexa instead! So far, I'm pretty happy with all of it!

This mornings weigh in was 183.6. So I'm still maintaining. I haven't been to the gym since I got the new meds. They do make me nauseous and jittery from time to time. So I have stayed home and tried to give my body time to adjust. Which i think is the healthy thing to do. I did talk to my doctor about the ace. And she recommended that I stay on it. :)

I hope you guys are doing well! I will be catching up on everyone's diary very soon!! :)

Thanks Athala! Nope, havent lost me! I'm Commited to losing this weight. Which means I need to stay here for support! :)

Welcome back Brina! So happy to hear from you again. I hate it when people just disappear. :(

Sounds like you're getting everything back in place and getting it all together again which is awesome! I hope 2014 is a great year for you and your family. :)

Seems like you've gotten busy again over the last week, hope you check in soon! I've been bad with checking up on everyone, just posting in my own diary and the challenges I'm part of and that's all I have time for lately.

Hope the week has been good for you and you find some time to sneak on an post an update :) You're doing great! And glad to hear you have a good doctor and are trying some new meds. Hope they work well!

Hey you guys! Thanks for the messages! Meds are still doing good. and I've given them time to kick in, so I started back at the gym today! Yay!! It makes me feel better to be going back! I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and I moved up to level 2 on the weightloss program, at 3.5 mph. I've done 100 crunches, 100 reverse crunches, 20 push ups, 40 standing side crunches, and I'm about to throw in 20 minutes of zumba! :) what a great way to start off the week!

Hope you guys are starting the week off strong!!
