Bowflex...

Well I bought mine last year for my birthday (almost exactly a year ago.) When I got it I used it maybe for a month. Then I was lifting at my school because of shotput training. The bowflex didn't seem to help that much, but after a year of lifting good old free weights and barbells, I can max out my bowflex machine. So I don't think it's worth the $700 i spent on it. Plus the leg workouts suck as said before. Right now I can only use it for lighter exercises and less complex ones such as curls etc.

I agree with the above posters, I have had the Bowflex Ultimate for a few years now, I was doing ok with it, since that time I have started using my Gym at work, with free weights and have shown a big improvement. I now use the Bowflex for my wife think it suits her needs well....for now, she is just starting weight training and such. So it will serve her well, But I have out grown it, and when I finish my basement I will build a gym in there for myself.

I would go with free weights if you can.
