Boiled Rice.

[No message]

Rice has about 1.5 grams of fat (good fats) per 1/2 cup serving approximately. A very good source of carbs and one wants to have this in their diet. I prefer LGB-Rice. IMO, one should prefer brown over white. Rice is a fantastic FOOD!

Some info on the difference between white and brown rice and an opinion on insulin response and GI index between the two:

(Rice has given a wide range of results in glycemic index (GI) studies around the world. The GI of white rice has ranged from as low as 54 to as high as 121. In a study by Miller JB, et. al., the glycemic index and the insulin response of various foods were tested and compared. While the GI of the white and brown rice were similar the insulin response for brown rice was significantly lower than for white rice. These findings in this study also raise questions about the value of the GI alone without knowledge of the insulin response to foods. (1))

Throw in a little White Tuna, and LGB-Rice with garlic and parmasen and this ROCKS or throw in some cut up baked chicken breast with garlic and parmasen with the LGB-Rice and this ROCKS too! HEHEHE. At least with me. HEHEHE

I hope everyone has a fantastic day! I just got done with 25m cardio session a few minutes ago, and I am all revved and fired up! HEHHEHE........

Best regards,

Chillen

Does boiled rice contain fat?

answer would be nice, thanks.

Are you under the assumption that you need to avoid eating fat? I suggest you read all the nutrition stickies in the nutrition forum. Sounds like you might need some information on eating right, and dispelling some myths that the media and other people perpetuate.

I don't really need to avoid fat, although i could do with a little be avoiding to be honest. The thing is rice is our main food in my house, we kinda eat rice(with difrent dishes) EVERY day lol. I've been told that rice is full of fat, so thats why i wasn't sure...and had to ask about it.

Now someone mentioned that rice is full of carbohydrate, ok maybe this is a stupid quastion, but what is carbohydrate? what kinda of Nutrition is it? Does carb act like fat in some ways? some information on this would be really cool.

I would like to thank all of you who took part in this thread.

Carbohydrate is one of the four macronutrients that contain calories.

Carbohydrate has 4 calories per gram.
Protein has 4 calories per gram.
Fat has 9 calories per gram.
Alcohol has 7 calories per gram.

However, in addition to differing calories per gram, they are metabolized in different ways. But excess calories from any source get turned into body fat.

contains nutrient listings for many foods.

yup boiled rice have fat and if u preserve it for 2 days in water there will be terrible fat content in it..that is carbs...one single rice has 4.1 calories...

WTF? 2 day old rice has extra fat? 1 grain has 4.1 calories?

What are you smoking?!!?

Wow, who knew people were so afraid of rice!:eek2:
