Hi, long time lurker, first time poster.
I have a couple questions about body weight training. I am currently cutting right now and since I can't go to the gym for a couple months, I decided to do body weight exercises. I know muscle gain with calsthenics when on a cutting phase is pretty much impossible and I am alright with that, but I would like to get stronger since I have been doing kickboxing but recently quit and will start up again in a couple of months due to personal reasons. Usually I do 3 sets of regular push ups with 15 reps, 3 sets of body weight squats with 45 reps and 15 reps of 3 sets of crunches. I do one set of push ups, i set of body weight squat and i set of crunches followed up by 3 minute shadow boxing. I then rest for 5 minutes and do it again for 4 times. I do this every morning and then do sprinting or long distanced running every tuesday, thursday and saturday at night time.
I know it's pretty old schooled haha but is this enough to gain a bit of strength and help in cutting? I just need to do it until I can start up kickboxing and go to a gym in like 2 months.
