Body weight, weight training

Due to lack of progress in my shoulder rehab (see nagging shoulder in the injury section if you like) I have decided to stay away from the bench for a while. The artical linked in my shoulder thread stated that pushups are one of the best ecercises for people exhibiting my sympotoms.

Today I decided to try a completely weight free (well almost) workout. I supersetted chest and back as follows: 3 sets of pushups with each hand on a basketball and pullups, 2 sets of puish ups with both hands on a medicin ball and push ups with a leg raise and 2 sets of push ups with feet on a balance board with straight arm lat pulldowns. Has anyone else tried a similar workout with good results?
 
you dont need to ditch the free weights completley, ditching bench is probobly a good idea though. Have you seen a qualified person with the injury?
 
yeah, though it says face pulls are great. and you can still do squats and deads, unless theres another problem.
