Body for Life Program Question

Hey,
I've been doing the Body for life program for the last 2 weeks and i'm finding it the best of all the programs i've tried.

One question: they do not say weather to eat an excess or deficit of calories or not. My goal is to lose all my fat (belly, love handles and double chin) and have a fair bit of muscle by september. What do you think i should do? eat a deficit while still doing cardio every 2nd day and lifting every other day or eat maintenence and hope everything turns out?
