Blues Fat Loss Diary

Great job, blues! With results like that without the gym time you're aiming for, just think of how great you'll do *with* the gym time!

Thanks! I figure it's going to be pretty awesome. Today was the first time someone noticed I'd lost a few lbs so that's made me feel pretty good!

Being healthy is awesome.

Anyone who likes sweet treats but wants to eat something nutritious and low cal at the same time should try grilling some fresh fruit and then eating it with 0% fat greek yoghurt plus a dash of honey and cinnamon. It is the business and really satisfies my sweet cravings if they turn up a'knockin. Grilled banana and pear is particularly great.

I actually put words into action and got out for a 25 minute jog this morning. It was tough but it was a beautiful morning and I'm going to get out three times a week minimum to start, or swap it with a gym session.

Been keeping right on track with eating right, and got out this morning for a 20 minute run. Using an app called Runtastic which tracks your route, time and calories burnt. Apparently I covered 3km in 19minutes and burnt 388kcal this morning which I thought wasn't bad for a novice. I find it tough but i'm determined to stick to it and I do actually like the way it makes me feel afterwards.

It's probably worth mentioning that my lady has been joining me on the weight loss journey. She doesn't have much to lose but has already lost 8lbs since we started so I'm really proud. She looks great and being able to have someone to share the healthy lifestyle with keeps the motivation levels up. It's really useful to have some mutual support!

Got a headache from hell tonight and wondering if it's because of my low calories and energy today. Trying to stay motivated. I'm craving something sugary and I haven't had anything bad in 30 days (!) so I'm desperate not to crack. Probably going to head straight to bed and sleep as a distraction.

I went to bed and have woken up with a horrible headache too--Wondered if it was my low calories yesterday. Make sure your cals aren't too low. I know mine were really under for yesterday. Hope you've slept yours off!

Drank a butt load of water before I went to bed and woke up feeling tired but sans headache so that was a bit better.

Went out for my run and it just about killed me this morning but I got through it. The morning was beautiful and cold so it was lovely to be out and I did a longer distance than yesterday so felt good about that.

Had some banana on wholemeal toasted rolls for breakfast as well as an apple and an orange so am feeling a bit more human now. So stoked that I didn't break last night and just nail a ton of food. Still on track!

I've been weighing in on Tuesdays and Saturdays generally so I'll be stoked to see if the jogging has in any way helped over the course of the next couple of weeks.

thanks!

got out again this morning, the weather has been gorgeous so its a pleasure to run in. getting into a good habit with it now! and when i'd gotten back, my other half had made me some grilled tomatoes/mushrooms and scrambled egg for a healthy protein breakfast! very lucky.

had a few drinks last night (4 vodka + diet cokes) which I don't feel great about but I don't drink a lot anymore any way and it was probably a lot better than drinking 4 pints of beer!

I was sooo tired after such a long week yesterday. I'm on a work project where I'm writing the software for an electronic chipboard system so I have been neck deep in code for like the last week so I was mentally exhausted!

But it meant I woke bright and early at 6am, and got out for a 4km run in my village's country park so I was out doing a run with all the birds and squirrels and rabbits and ducks which was a lot of fun. Then I got back, showered and had some fruit and wholemeal toast and coffee for breakfast and am about to head out into the city.

Feeling good! Hoping that my weigh on Tuesday shows some positive results!

Sounds wonderful blues you are an inspiration to me!
I did 4 km at 6 am too, I saw swanes and deers and a small fishing boat covered in seaguls. Made me think one is only lucky enough to see that early in the morning.

Morning Blues. How's it going? Hubby and I are weighing in tomorrow. I'll let you know how we get on. As we are doing healthy eating rather than a crash diet, and as you continue gaining weight for a few days after you start regulating what you eat, we will be happy to have remained the same. It has stopped the rot, so to speak, and we should see a pound or so off next week

Very nice, Clarissa! It's a really nice way to start the day and really rewarding if it's really tough but you have the resolve to get through it anyway. My father used to be an ultramarathoner (100 miles +) but now he can't run because of some misfortune with an operation he had on his leg - so one day I hope to run a marathon for him and meet him at the finish line :)

I'm well, thanks Dumpy! Very positive outlook. You have to commit to the long term and healthy weight loss is slow weight loss. Make sure to let us know how you get on, and I hope you see some great changes!

That's a great motivator! If you can reach your goal and do it, I can't begin to imagine how stoked your dad would be! :D

Thanks! Weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed some progress from healthy eating and doing my daily run!

Sooo. Mixed feelings about today. I made a loss of 3lbs this week, which i'd otherwise be stoked with but I've been running every morning without fail and have still somehow lostless weight than the first few weeks where I've been averaging over 4lbs a week. So I suppose it's good but the science is breaking down somewhere. Thinking about it I have been slightly less strict - had some alcohol the past couple of days (vodka) - but I've still been eating really healthily.

So it's good but I feel like I need to be ramping it up - but at the same time am doing as much as I can practically do without making this whole thing impossible to sustain. Aaaanyways. The digits.

Starting (Apr 2nd 2013): 297lbs
Target: 218lbs
Current: 279lbs
Lost this week: 3.3lbs/1.5kg
Total loss: Somewhere just over 18lbs

A day of good eating today and a long run later to keep in the game. Onwards!
