Blues Fat Loss Diary

BBQ halloumi is the bomb. I am a fiend for halloumi. And yes indeed I do, it's easy and healthy and tasty which is what it's all about!

Today is weigh day. This week I have lost 2kg/4.4lbs, which I am very happy with :). The scoop is:

Starting (Apr 2nd 2013): 297lbs/135kg
Current: 273lbs/124.5kg
Lost this week: 4.4lbs/1.5kg
Target: 218lbs
Total loss: 23lbs/10.5kg

In related news, I have dropped my BMI by three points, I have lost 7.7% of my starting body weight and I am 29% of the way towards to my goal weight. Not too bad for 6 weeks work, I think. Didn't get the chance to run this morning but will likely go later this evening.

Urgh, running. You are a star. No way I'm leaving bed early to jog. I'm not even sure I can jog!

Haha everyone can jog! slowly...

My main motivation is that the more I run, the quicker I'm gonna get to my goal and I'm all about that.

I use a really cool app called Runtastic that tracks your route, calories and time and plots it all on a map. I'm a stats nerd so I get a kick out of trying to beat myself!

Well done Blues, I couldn't run a bath these days, I'm so out of kilter. Hubby and I have started Zumba! That's as far as we can go until we lose more flab.

Zumba is great, I'm glad you've found something to burn some energy! It will get easier as you drop the pounds, too. Let us know how it goes!

Hi Dumpy. Yeah I went away for a few days. I went to Germany to see my parents. They were both really surprised and complimentary about my weight loss which was great. Annoyingly, I went away from Friday to Sunday and was still careful with my eating (but couldn't do any running) and then when I weighed myself on Sunday it said that I had put on over 3lbs.

I unfortunately took this very personally because I am working so hard and being so strict with food, so have had some motivational problems. I've still been running every day and eating as cleanly as possible but have been a bit depressed about the whole thing. This morning though, I weighed myself and I was the same weight as I was last Tuesday. So I don't know what's happened but I'm just going to keep trying my hardest and see what the scale says again next week.

On a positive note I am now running 4.8km most mornings in about 26 minutes which is a pace I am reasonably happy with considering I only started running three weeks ago. I am hoping to raise the distance soon but want to make sure that I can complete my current distances comfortably before pushing myself too hard. I have entered a competitive 5km run this Saturday to give myself a taste of running as a sport and at an event so I'm working hard this week so that I can get a reasonably good time on Saturday.

Sort of just feels like no matter how hard I work or how dedicated I am I am still miles away from where I want to be which is tough to take. But I must carry on, of course.

Hi blues,

Good to see the running is going well for you.
I'm going to start running as well, going to buy some good running shoes this weekend (friday = payday).
If only the spring would start here... This weekend is gonna be particularly wet and cold, so not a good time to go out and start running. So I guess I'll climb on the stationary bike again.

I know exactly how you feel, I filled my diary with frustration this past week, I stick to my calories, do exercise and I gained 1,3 kg from Wednesday to Saturday (which luckily was gone this morning on weigh in day)

Even though your weight has been on a standstill this week you have progressed in health and perhaps swapped fat with muscles. You are in better condition today than last Thuesday just keep going. I cannot begin to describe how much your progress with running stuns me. You are doing great Blues!

Just a bump in the diet road Blues, that's all. Don't forget, as the fat goes the muscles bulk up which could show up as no weight loss. You are doing a fantastic job.
