Meh...

Bad mood!!!

Bored!!!!

Sick of being fat!!!!

I'm back AGAIN...

I was here ages ago under another name, then came back as Lylitu... Now I'm back again.

But as always I may not stay for long.

I have a week off, then 5 weeks of uni, then placement again.

Irregular shifts of 13 hours long, with the potential to be nights or days or weekdays or weekends.... fun.

Great for dieting or what?!

Not that I like to call it a diet.

It's more of a lifestyle change.

When we eat well we eat pretty darn well.

But these last three days we've been rubbish at it.

Todays food

2x Sausage and egg mcmuffin

1x mcd's hash brown

200g baked chicken breast with herbs

150g frozen mash

Huge pile of peas and sweetcorn

Medium bowl of ice cream

3x homemade buns

Which is approximately 2350 calories!!

If I hadn't have had the mcd's for breakfast it would have been a good day.

Shame :(

Nevermind, tomorrow is a new day!!

Ok... I was hoping I'd be able to come back and change the thread title when I was in a better mood but apparently not!!

Oh well..

I'm off food shopping now, started tracking my food on another website, I won't say which I'm using because it has a forum too so I'll probably get into trouble!!

I'm soooooo ill still today :)

Didn't wake up until 12.

Well I did, but I didn't get up.

I woke up every hour or so feeling crap or needing to pee, but stayed in bed and tried to sleep some more.

My dad always used to sleep when he was ill, so I kind of picked that up. I'm so tired even though I've had about 10 hours sleep.

Probably gunna go make some breakfast, then I have no idea what I'm gunna do.

I might record some music with my boyfriend. He wrote a song last night he wants me to record the bass for.

If I feel up to it, we might start our pub walks tonight.

We're going to walk up to the massive hill to the pub, have a drink (I've suggested orange juice since it's one of your 5 a day) then walk back, perhaps walk back the long way.

It should be good, won't feel much like exercise because it should be slightly fun!

Still in a bit of a bad mood, and grumpy, and shocked.

Did you know the lowest weight I could be and still have a healthy BMI would be 7stone 13lbs!!!

I was very thin at 10stone, never mind over 2 stone lighter!!

I don't have any pictures of my body on my comp from when I was 10 stone, but here is one from a similar time, probably if anything slightly heavier. You can see that I wasn't big, and I'd lost my boobs!!

I mean, I even partially have collar bones!!! Now imagine that person with another 30lbs off?!

No thank you.

I may have chinese takeaway tonight....

Hadn't eaten all day, due to being ill and a dentist appointment.

Calories for the day 2300 ish

Not horrendous, and I did some walking earlier.

Had some fresh orange juice, and plenty of veg in the chinese so could be worse.

Had a spider scare too. Was HUGE. Made me feel ill :(

Hi!

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling ill/ Being sick and trying to lose weight is never a good combination, as it tends to make you feel worse. For the moment, set aside your weight loss and just focus on getting better. There's no point in a diet if you ruin it because you're sick. I'm not saying eat whatever the hell you want, but don't make a big deal out of eating a large bowl of chicken noodle soup and drinking copious amounts of ginger ale. Just remember that once you get over your sickness, its time to jump back on the wagon and get going!

As for your dieting, I can see from your shopping list at least the idea of eating healthy, which is great! But some things you could get rid of are the pepsi and chips, something your diet could really do without. Also, maybe you could try cutting down on the calories just a bit? From the 2-3 times I've seen you post your calories, your averaging almost 2000 daily. Maybe that's not entirely the truth, as you don't list your calorie intake every day, but it's just an observation. Also, what exercising are you getting? If you're only walking, thats a good start, but adding running and some sort of strength training would be a great benefit. Anyway, keep it up! You CAN do this!

Ah I miss my old account where I didn't need to skirt around issues!!

I'm being more anonymous on this account for a few reasons but I have health issues that mean most exercise is out of the window, so walking is it for now. I can't go into more but most strength training, even just things using my own body weight is out, and I can't do hard cardio like jogging, especially not running.

The pepsi is pepsi max at least, so it's very few calories, I tend not to worry about the artificial sweetners given how rare it is I have fizzy stuff anyway.

I bought chips... And haven't touched them, or even wanted to to be honest. Which is a pain because you can guarantee if I hadn't I'd be craving them!

It's a pain when I'm ill, because today I'm just not hungry so haven't eaten yet (14:30 for those in a different time zone), but yesterday I ate a HUGE chinese takeaway (but pretty much nothing else)

I track my calories on another site, and I don't weigh things so I over estimate. For example if I've cooked 450g of chicken, shared it with others and not finished mine I'll still use 200g.

Actually I tell a lie, I do weigh stuff like pasta and spaghetti, and if I've used a quarter of something I obviously know how much it is, but for some things I estimate.

I also underestimate veg and stuff to push myself to have more.

I've tried the being completely healthy, but it doesn't work with my lifestyle.

If I leave in the odd bit of fizzy pop (always sugar free anyway) and the option of things like chips, I'm much more likely to stick to it.

Having tried and failed numerous times, I think I'm just about getting the hang of it.

I shall see in a few days anyway, when I weigh "officially". Chances are it'll be up again from todays, as todays is probably only down because I'm ill.

I drink a lot of sugar free flavoured water, and sugar free squash, sometimes skimmed milk/milkshake.

I also feel I should explain the 2000+ days.

The mcd's was pre planned, as we were setting off v.early and stopped at services on they way. I them spent 4/5 hours walking around a convention centre, and ate properly the rest of the night.

The chinese, there was no excuse for it apart from the being ill therefore not feeling in the mood for anything else and feeling grumpy!!

So both those days were heavier on the exercise than usual too which is a relief!

Today we're thinking of going to feed the ducks, it's not much of a walk, but it's the getting out of the house that's good today. I figure if we get into the habit of getting out of the house more often, it'l be easier to get out to do walks.

Got a lot of paperworky type stuff to do today though so it might be a while til we do that. If not tonight at all.

Going to a different pub tomorrow probably. There is one up another hill (I live in the bottom of a valley) which we're gunna try out.

Todays food so far

Go ahead crispy slices

Baked Crisps

Juicy sweet and sour chicken

Mash

Peas

Sweetcorn

Went for another hill walk today, not the same big one, a longer one with a more gradual incline, then walked the long way home.

Had a diet coke while out.

Also had a chocolate brownie when I got back. Homemade so no nasty chemically crappy additives at least, plus my calories were too low today so it bumped it up a bit.

Calories today

Just under 1400

Plus I exercised!!

So despite feeling ill and crappy, and eating a chocolate based snack, I didn't go over my fat allowance today (which I lowered today too!) and got quite a bit of fibre in somehow!!

Good day

Scales down again today which is encouraging. I've been eating my calories sstill despite being ill so I know it's not from not eating enough.

Gunna go eat (not eaten yet again), then go for another walk :)

Calories today

1300 so far

Not bad, had 2 of my 5 a day only though.

Had 2 eggs, some wholemeal toast, my graze box, and half a portion of chips.

Calories today

approx 1800

Plus a short walk.

Feel a bit sick though *sad face* still ill as well, so feeling pretty shitty,

Also I think that my cat is ill which makes me really really sad!!

Still not 100% :(

But.. I forgot to get on the scales this morning, so out of curiosity I got on fully dressed (jeans w/ full pockets etc) and it was what I expected to see, so not down again (tI think) but not up either which is brilliant :)

Walking to the supermarket to get food and stuff for tonight/tomorrow.

Going to Eurogamer!! Really excited!

Getting last train to leeds tonight, then 2am megabus to London! Then whole day in London/Eurogamer then late coach back.

May not track tomorrows food :p

although I'll be doing shit loads of walking I suppose!

My eating over the last 48 hours has been awful.

But not excessive, just crap.

No crisps since leaving the house (so maybe in the 48 but not in the trip), but I've had about 4/5mini milky ways, 3 mini mars bars (roughly 1240 cals in all combined) a mcchicken sandwich, large fries, cheeseburger, mcflurry, packet of go ahead slices, white bread cheese toastie, 2 twirls (small not full size) annnndddddd possibly something else that I can't remember... Bottle of energy drink and 2 bottles of isotonic juice.

BUT

I also walked for hours and hours!!! I walked 10, 20, 20, 20, 20 minute interval thingies, maybe a little more actually. Then while at the convention itself I walked for... ermm.... 4 hours straight?

So I probably did up to 6 hours walking.

Overall it could have been a lot worse. Could have been better but with the journey back I had I don't particularly care. I'm just glad I'm back safe!

Forgot to weigh this morning so I'll do it tomorrow.

It's weigh day for a challenge tomorrow too so that'll be good.

Lost 4lbs overall despite 2 bad weekends in a row! (In two-three weeksish)

Next 3 weeks are pretty important, need my uniform to fit more confortably.

Plus it's nearly my birthday.

I'd like half a stone by then if not slightly more.

Been doing a lot of walking still, and been on the Kinect dancing again. In the heat!

Did hours of cleaning today (which I don't usually do as I live at home so my mum does it).

Feeling pretty good.

I'm not taking it as seriously as I was going to. Just little things like having half the size turkey chilli with no cheese instead of a massive plate of beef chilli with cheese.

Salads for lunch not bought sandwiches or noodles from the SU etc.

Eating little and often. Such as a bagel for breakfast, then some go ahead slices mid lecture, then my salad, then cottage cheese when I get home, then a small tea, then pineapple later on. Instead of no breakfast, crappy lunch then huge dinner.

Feeling like I'm making a difference. To both myself and my boyfriend.

He's wanting to lose weight too, but I'm not tracking his weight, because I know how obsessive I get about the scales. So we go by how he feels, and he's been feeling smaller and better about himself, so I got him to go on the scales with his eyes shut so he wouldn't be disheartened if it wasn't changed, and he's down 4lbs too, which is brilliant!! So I did tell him!

Yeah I totally gave up again....

I'm semi back on it since starting on a very active placement.

Fruit at work, wholemeal sandwiches, takeaways only once a week ;)

Lost 5lbs so far, just in time to put it back onat Christmas!!

I'd prolly have lost more had I not been bad on my days off!

3/7 days good + 4/7 days asleep/bad = slow weight loss!!

Hello Lylitu,

Congratulations on making the decision to take back control of your life again! Losing weight is hard, sucks, takes time...all of the above. I can also tell you it's so worth it in the long haul. I'm 51 (I'm guessing you are younger than me...and believe me that will help you!) I started at 269 pounds and my goal is 150 (when I started this forum, I put that in writing for the first time...and that was 5 months into this journey!) and I'm down around 207 right now...so I just passed the 1/2 way mark...big deal for me, but still a long way to go!

For me, diet alone didn't get it done for me...I had to add exercise too...I'm an early riser, so I hit the fitness center early and multi-task listening to my ipod, and then eat a big breakfast, regular lunch, and no eating after 6:00pm, no processed sugars, low carb, no soft drinks (that includes diet drinks). I don't count calories...just can't handle that right now...I need simple and that's what I have. So far it's working for me...I hope you find something that works for you. I look forward to your next posts!
