Billy's Mission - To Lose 80 lbs.

The holidays won.

I indulged and haven't resumed my good habits yet.

But it changes today.

Today, I begin a 14 day 'Scarsdale Diet' and I'm going back to the gym.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty much back where I started....

Nevermind...no use crying over spilled milk.

Slowly...but surely, I'm losing weight again.
I never quite got running with the Scarsdale diet but I am on a sensible, restricted diet:

Restrictions:

Minimum complex carbs (maybe 1 or 2 pieces of bread a day, no pasta, no rice...)
No junk food, no sweets, no fast food, no processed food.
No pop.

Requirements:

Lots of fruit, salad, and cooked vegetables with protein.
Watered down juice and tea with milk and 1 sugar (a little indulgence.)

And that's it. It's not a strict diet but it's some simple, hard principles that I am abiding by until I reach my ideal weight - which is 180 and beyond.

251.8 lbs today....

I've decided to only weigh in once a week.

I'm also on an exercise program too! So as long as I keep up keeping up....I'll get there , slowly but surely.

See you all next week!

So I've had a week of being very good. No junk food, no pop, no desserts, no complex carbs. Just lots of salads, fruit salads, soups, fresh juices, stir fries and a few trips to the gym (along with some weird withdrawal symptoms and cravings as well!)

So I was expecting to see some positive results when I hit the scales today.

Not so, I'm afraid. In fact, I'm up over half a pound!!!!

WTF is with that????

I'm kinda scratching my head over here.

Nevermind. I'm gonna buckle in for another week. Hopefully, better news next time!

Billy,
That can be tough to see the scale treat you like that. That's why we shouldnt judge our success by the scale. I know that is hard. I am the same way. I still struggle with it.

With that being said, are you tracking calories on fitday? People can add weight while eating healthy. It is truely calories in vs calories out.

Great attitude with not letting it get you down. Keep up the fight and you will see results.

Matt

No, I'm not tracking the calories. I realize its benefits but I don't want to get that fastidious about it. But then again, if I don't start seeing results, I'll have to kick my game up a notch.

I'm sure if I keep on track with what I'm doing, I'll see results. After all, cutting out all the known culprits and keeping up with the exercise HAS to prevail, no?

Great attitude with not letting it get you down. Keep up the fight and you will see results.

Matt

Thanks for the encouragement! Cheers.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the gain, but did you eat more sodium the day before your weighin then usual? Saturday I knew I took it way more salt then I had for the past 2 weeks and sunday morning it had shown that I gained weight, I knew it was water retention from the extra salt and I weighed again this morning and showed I had really lost weight. So if you know for a fact that you should be losing because you are sticking to water intake, calories, and exercise, then look at your diet for any extra salt.

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind next time I record an unusual weight gain!

250.2

Over two pounds down from last week! Yippee!

Hopefully, next week I'll be clocking in at the late end of the 240's.

Still keeping on track - no junk food, no complex carbs and frequent trips to the gym.

This isn't a crash diet now. This is an attempt to create a new life style.
