BikiniBound's Diary

I'm pleased to see that the feeding is going better. May you have many more dirty nappies over the next few days...

Oh yay for the feeding smoothing out. I know what a full-on big deal feeding problems can be, and it's so satisfying if the two of you can just manage the feeding naturally.

Mishi--Just a few more days to go for you! Well, don't worry too much about the weight gain. I gained more than I wanted to as well, but it seems to be coming off pretty quickly. I hope your bp stays reasonable, but if not, they can get that baby out fast. :) Do you know what you're having?

Amy--I can imagine how you'd feel about your milk not coming in b/c I would've felt the same way. But what can ya do? No need to feel guilty. The formula these days is pretty good and I know plenty of formula fed babies who thrive--like Bella for instance. :) I was formula fed, as were most people I know from our generation as they just weren't promoting breastfeeding much back in the day. The main reason I would've freaked is the cost of formula..lol. Not cheap!

Glad you like her name. I think it's simple and pretty.

Lowfat--Yeah, I didn't know that either about big babies. Wish they'd told me that sooner..lol.

Margaret--I changed 5 poopy diapers yesterday, so I guess she made up for lost time! :D

Felici--Yes, hopefully we're on track now. I just hope she's gained some weight back when she gets weighed at the pediatricians in a few hours--or at least hasn't lost anymore weight. The lactation consultant said to feed her right before we go..lol. That is like a weigh in trick we use here--the opposite, actually. :D

Okay--so I weighed myself this morning after not doing it yesterday. I nearly fainted when I saw what it said. In fact, I stared in disbelief--no way could it be correct. So I weighed myself again. Same number. I was 250.5lbs on Friday. Wednesday I was 235.5. Today I'm 227!!!!!!!!!! That puts me only 9.5lbs from my pre-preg weight. I looked in the mirror afterwards, and my belly is really much flatter than it was just a couple days ago. Of course that has to be water weight I lost, but I will take it! I'm so thrilled.

Gotta run, May's crying. :)

Things sound like they are going so well for you!
I bet that weight just keeps coming off.
When your a brand new mommy your just so busy that there doesn't seem to be enough time to eat. Especially when sleep wins out every time. LOL
Glad to hear that May is doing better.
I'll give ya call soon. Maybe in a few weeks we can get together and then I can brag to everyone how I have actually seen and held May! LOL
Chat at ya later!
Have a Great Easter

Good morning!! That is wonderful about the weight!! There is so much in fluids and whatnot that I wouldn't be surprised if you pass your pre-pregnancy pretty quickly as things in your body settle down.
lol No such luck for me. I know where my weight came from and it's not baby!~ lol
We are going to be having a boy:) I didn't want to know with my first one (a boy as well) but as I have no mother's instinct about that sort of stuff we decided to find out with this one. Even then I needed it verified as I was so sure it was a girl but there is no denying it now... I've seen it in 3D lol.
We are pulling for an Easter baby or maybe even tomorrow (yeah I should be so lucky lol). If he was born tomorrow his birthday would be 411... he he he. I do love the birthdays!
My BP is staying pretty steady. Last time I was pregnant at this time I was supposed to be on bed rest and I didn't listen so I think that is why it happened but my dr. is keep ing a close eye on it anyway.
Hope the weigh in goes well today!! lol "weigh in". You are so right it's like what we do but in reverse. Have a great day:D

That is so funny about using weighing tricks in reverse for May. We know all the tricks.... Nice to think of her using them in reverse.

It is really fantastic news about the way that your weight is coming down. As if you didnt have enough to celebrate this week - it really looks like you have pulled off the major feat of having a baby and effectively gaining so little weight it is of no consequence.

People with a track record of always being skinny rarely achieve that - and it is extra impressive for someone with a track record of an inclination to gain. I always said that with your knowledge and determination you could do it if anyone could.

Naturally we wish you both continued good luck at the scales.

Oh yeah, it is a beautiful feeling when that weight drops so much and so quickly. I knew you'd get a whole bunch off in an instant since I lost 32 lbs in a few weeks, but wow you are really melting away!

Glad the baby is doing better. OMG, I remember all the poopie diapers early on..they do start going less later on thankfully.

Just back from the pediatricians. She has gained 1.25oz in the last two days. The ped was hoping for 2oz, but bloody hell--at least she's gained and not lost. I swear nothing's good enough for this doc. Anyway, he said it was good enough that we don't have to go back until her two week check up. :)

Dawn--Sleep does win out over eating most times..lol. You hit that nail right on the head. :D That would be cool if we could meet up soon. :)

Mishi--That would be cute if you had an easter baby. May was born on Palm Sunday.

Margaret--I knew you would appreciate our little weigh-in trick for May..:) It is funny that I'm trying to lose weight and she's trying to gain..lol.

Claudia--I don't mind the poopie diapers--they aren't that bad. I'm just relieved that she's pooping--I was praying for poop! :D Yes, I was so shocked to see such another dramatic drop in weight in just two days. I have a feeling the next 9.5lbs will not come off quite so easily, but still, if I can have it gone by 1 month post-partum, I'll be pleased.

The poopies get worse, so much worse. In smell that is. I can now smell Bella two rooms away after a deuce. DAMN!!! I miss the non-smelly days. LOL!!

They say that breastfed poop is less smelly than formula poop so hopefully it'll last at least until she's weaned..lol. She's had 4 poopie diapers today already. It's like an explosion in her diaper.

It's brilliant that she is gaining and brilliant that the doctor is happy to leave it so long before the next check-up. It shows that the doctor is confident that everything is going well - whatever he says about target gains.

We can all be jealous of May - trying to gain weight. Something that can only ever be a dream for the rest of us.

Amy's right, the smell gets horrible as they get older but in a few months it will cut down to once a day instead of 6 times a day. Well here's some hope for ya, my little girl hasn't pooped in her diaper in about 3 months now (at 2 1/2)! Yay lol. We didn't even have to teach her, she learned how to use the toilet at part-time nursery school as she was the youngest and all the others were already using the little potty. We still put a pull-up on at night though so I guess we need to work on night time peeing somehow. All very complicated lol.

Hey
I'll call you in a couple of weeks when things settle down for ya.
It totally drained me when T-man was born and everyone and their cat just had to visit right away. I was soooo tired and all I wanted was for everyone to just go away!
At least with all of us, we can only bother you when you turn your computer on!!! :biggrinjester:

Give May a sweet kiss for me!

I am down 2 more lbs from yesterday. Only 7lbs from my pre-preg weight. So that puts me at 224.5lbs, for a total loss of 26lbs (including May's birth weight) over the last week. She is a week old today. :)

Dawn--That would be great to hear from you. :)

Brandy--Happy Easter to you, too. :)

Amy and Claudia--I hope May trains easily too. I don't want a 3yr old in diapers!! :D

Margaret--Yes, it's funny that she and I have opposite goals atm..lol. I really cannot believe how easily this weight is coming off. I guess there was a lot more fluid than I thought. I assumed a fair bit of it was fat.

OMG this weight loss is exciting!! Such an extreme result yet totally healthy!! Are you getting enough sleep to be able to feel properly excited?

TWO MORE POUNDS!!!

It looks to me like none of it was fat. In fact - it is quite possible that you lost some fat which was hidden by your pregnancy gain. We will only really know for sure in a few weeks time. It is truly amazing the way that your weight is coming down. You will be looking forward to each new weighing.

Happy Easter

Felici and Margaret--I do look forward to weighing myself now..lol. It's been a long time since that's happened..:D We'll see how quickly the last 7lbs come off. I have no idea if they'll come off easily or not. But breastfeeding is supposed to burn 500 calories per day, so that will hopefully help out, as I am not up to exercising (nor should I be per my midwife) yet.

Cerella--Happy Easter to you, too. Yes, baby's first Easter. My mom was going to buy her an Easter dress, but never made it to the store. So she gave me some money today to buy one myself. I went out shopping tonight (my first time to leave the baby since she was born) for an hour and got her one. Well, I still have to wash it before I put it on her, so I guess it'll be an Easter Monday dress. lol I will post pics of her in it--hopefully tomorrow. :)
