BikiniBound's Diary

Hmm..I did some planks on Friday and it didn't seem to help my weight on Saturday..lol

Stella Artois is the most popular beer in Belgium--and the Belgians know how to brew some beer! I lived in Brussels for a semester during college, and developed a great love for their lambic beers--the fruity ones. If you can get your hands on a framboise (raspberry), kriek (cherry) or pecheresse (peach)--give in to the temptation! This bar had about 20 kinds of Belgian beers--including the Trappist beers which only Trappist monks are allowed to put their name on. I did not have any because they were all at least $9 for a bottle. My framboise was $4, but that was only for 5.5 ounces!! For that price I could get a whole pint of something else--especially b/c all day Sunday is happy hour and pints are $1 off..lmao. I also had some Strongbow cider and a pint of Young's Double Chocolate Stout--very tasty--brewed in London, UK. It's a good thing that bar is 2hrs from my house, or H and I would blow all our money there. :smilielol5:

A girl after my own heart. Strongbow is my favorite thing to drink in the world. I love it. I truly am ridiculous...I have a strongbow background and screensaver on my computer. My fiance bought me 2 cases of it (36 giant cans) for my birthday after I could only find the bottles where I live. Now that's one heck of a man. As for fruity beers...ever try Pyramid Apricot Weizen that's brewed in Washington. I had it for the first time in February. I loved it. I even had it for breakfast while I was down there. Its almost fruit juice, right...

Hey Everyone!! I'm baa--aack! :D

Our return got delayed, as my gf we visited yesterday talked us into spending last night at her place. Here's the last list of yummy food: lunch yesterday was Korean bibimbop--rice with marinated veggies and thinly sliced beef served in a bowl with an egg on top. You can spice it up with red pepper paste as well. That wasn't so bad, but for dinner, my gf made kafta (with ground lamb and sirloin), rice, homemade hummus and a salad with tomoatoes, cucumber, romaine, red onion, olive oil, balsamic vinager and tons of lemon juice. It was fantastic. Then for dessert we had some cakes she got from a really good Middle Eastern bakery. Oh, and I drank a very large glass of chardonnay and another very large glass of merlot. What a boozer I've become! :cheers2: Well, that's the last of it, as the trip is over. Now I must behave--and pray my weight gets down over the next few days. I've put on more weight in the last 4 days than I did over the Christmas holidays. My poor challenge team. I hope I don't get us eliminated this week. :(

Margaret, Steve, Paul and TrevorM--Thanks for stopping by!

Brandy and Cita--I am not sick of sex forever--I was just sick of it that day. ;)

Lemon--I have not heard of that apricot weizen, but it sounds heavenly--it is rather like fruit juice--carbonated, alcoholic fruit juice. :D Your dedication to Strongbow Cider is certainly impressive. I think the company should use you in their next commercial--and give you a free lifetime supply of cider as payment. :cheers2:

Stacy--I'm so glad you got a bike! :hurray::hurray: Wanna race?? :D My goal to reach today is not to pig out anymore, to get on my bike and to get tons of laundry done.

Sounds like you had a fun time. The food doesn't sound too too bad. Seems like you weren't binging constantly, just had a few nice meals. When I go away I tend to maintain or lose weight, and I eat big fattening meals but I dont snack in between as I'm busy running around. It'll be interesting to see what the scale says tomorrow morning. Good luck with that!

Man you ate some great stuff!! and wine, OOOOHHHH LALA, I'm so very happy you had some! I found some great Peach Chardonnay and I bought two bottles, time for a new wine rack. LOL LOL Let's hope all the bumping and grinding helped you burn some calories, and well maybe something else too. :sifone:

Hope your day is a good one!! rock the excercise girlie! STAT! Oh are you drinking your green tea?
Kimmers

Claudia and Twin--Trust me--I ate A LOT!! :piggy: But I did enjoy myself. That peach chardonnay sounds yummy! :drool5:

I just sent you both and Amy an email about the trip. :)

I am pleased that you had a great holiday and lots of yummy food. I am sure that you will be on track now to try to get the weight down. Hopefully much of the gain will be water retention due to all the marinades in the exotic food that you have been eating. I know that you will be drinking plenty of water so much of the weight gain has a chance to come down.

If the worst comes to the worst and we get eliminated - Dawn and I are big tough girlies and will come to terms with the disappointment. It is after all just a game. We would be able to give the folk in the second chance challenge a run for their money. Mind you - if we get eliminated and then there is a baby on the way from the excesses - we both want to be classed as honorary aunties.

Omega's got a point I never thought about. What is going to happen first...reaching your WL goal OR getting pregnant? Are you going to have to change you're name from bikinibound to babybound. LOL! Its a race to the finish.

I agree with you on strongbow. I deserve a lifetime supply. I should become the "Subway Jared" of strongbow and claim that a diet of strongbow brought about my weight loss. LOL. I would be destroyed by a lifetime supply of strongbow. Either I'd end up being super fat or having a diet only consisting of strongbow. Either way, I'd become an alcoholic! A happy one at that!

Glad to have you back. Now I can stop drooling over your food and beer selections. :drooling:

LOL@Babybound. Well, if I do get preggers before reaching goal--certainly possible--especially at the rate I'm losing.--I will still be around b/c I still intend to eat healthily and exercise. I do not want to pig out and gain all60lbs back..lol.

Bella and Margaret--you will most certainly be honorary aunts. As the only blood aunt our children will have will be my H's sister, there's plenty of auntie availability..lol.

Today was not so good food-wise. 2400 calories--double what I wanted. Still, it's better than the 3000+ I've been eating. Tomorrow is another day.

We are getting some bad storms atm. I'm hoping our electricity doesn't go out. :ack2: So if I'm not around much tomorrow, that will explain it...lol

Glad I got my laundry done today--4 loads. Otherwise our clothes choices would be severely limited..lol.

I did get on my bike for 30 min tonight--and worked it a bit harder than normal.

Is there a need for a crazy hick cousin in Texas? :biggrinjester:

I sure wish I would have exercised when I was preggers.

I was so young and dumb. I just though it was a free ticket and anything I gained would be "baby weight."

Plus, I was a size 0-1!! 115 lbs.

Since I was thin my whole life, I honestly thought I'd just pop back in place once Cory came. NOT!

I gained 65 lbs. and was a size 12 when I left the hospital.

Why didn't my dr. and family give me wise help?! lol

I got down to a 10 once Cory was 1 and really liked myself/body. I was no longer too thin - had nice curves and felt great.

BUT, for the first time in my life I now had a much slower metab. and gained weight quickly.

The yo-yo dieting life begun.

Man, I wish you could just warp back in time and yell at yourself and say, "Do it this way!"

:biggrinjester:

Great job on the bike!

I can't wait to be able to stay on for a long time.

I haven't been able to last more than 20 mins. at a time so far. lol

I guess that's pretty good since I've only had it 2 days and have not exercised in almost a month!

Not unless you plan to have a 60lb baby. :ack2:

My mom actually weighed 20lbs less right after she gave birth to my sister. My sister weighed only 6lb 7oz, so it was well beyond baby weight. Can you imagine being pregnant and loosing 14lbs BEFORE giving birth. She was so sick the entire 9 months. My sister was really sick her entire pregnancy, too. I don't think she gained a lot from it. I hope I don't gain too much when I'm pregnant, but the thought of being violently ill for nine months.... I hear adoptions popular. LOL.

I'm laughing out loud you guys, at this sixty-pound baby talk. Kimmy, you and the hubby are power breeders if that happens. You two can repopulate the earth with genetically enhanced uber-offspring. Just watch out when he/she cries and make sure the lightening bolts that shoot from its eyes don't spark a hole in the ceiling. :smilielol5:

Sorry, had to get that out. That was just TOO FUNNY to consider.

You know what chica, I've the utmost faith that you *won't* gain too much back. I was talking over my weight loss achievements with a friend, and how one day I'd love to have children, but how I'm weary of gaining too much weight back. She spoke of how a number of woman leave the hospital the same size they were before conception. I'm hoping this is how I am. We just have to be cautious of how we care for ourselves and the baby and be sure to stay on the right track. You've got this ability, I know that for sure.

It's healthy to exercise while preggers, isn't it? I mean, if sex is healthy while you're with child, shouldn't other forms of cardio be acceptable as well?

By the way, in case you didn't know this...sex burns 105 calories an hour, and that's *not* actively....

I wouldn't be surprised if you're loosing weight faster lately....we can all do the math...;)

Lemon--I also had a friend who weighed less after giving birth than she did when she got pregnant. Her thing was due to gall bladder stones, though.

Rae--LOL! I do not want to give birth to a 60lb baby!!

Exercise while preggers is fine--and recommended. Sitting on one's arse for 9 months is not. :D Obviously in the last trimester the exercise won't be as vigorous or strenuous due to the 9-month pregnant body being unable to jog 6 miles, for instance..lol

Stacy--there is always room for a crazy hick cousin--although they will already have some blood related hick cousins. :biggrinjester:

20min on your bike is a good start! As your legs and butt adjust to it, you'll be able to go longer. As it is, I rarely do more than 30-40min at a time on mine. The longest I've gone is an hour. I just try to increase my speed, so that I go further in the same period of time--try to beat my records. Also, doing intervals is good. Do a couple of minutes as fast as you can, then slow down and catch your breath/rest your legs and repeat. :)

My weight was down 2lbs from 2 days ago despite my calories yesterday--so that is good. I didn't weigh in at my friend's house yesterday, so I don't know what it was then--maybe worse from 2 days ago, as I ate a lot on Monday.

Oh yeah!!! I want to be an Auntie!!! Please? Can I? :biggrinjester:

My friend ran a 5k when she was 5 1/2 months preggers and it was fine. I was sick the entire 9 months so I had to get my exercise through swimming. The only issue when pregnant is you are so damn tired the first trimester, you feel like you have mono. I mean sleeping 12-16 hours a day tired, it sucks. Plus weight gain doesn't determine the size of the baby. I gained 65lbs and had a 7lb baby, a friend of mine only gained 30lbs and had a 10lb little girl. Naturally!

How IS the babymaking coming along? You're not working the H too hard are you?

Hey just in case you hadn't noticed I am only.3 off from you BMI. Your loss last week and my gain put you in the lead on our BMI race.
But I am doing my best to catch ya this week! LMBO :biggrinjester:

Well, running a 5k at 5 1/2 months pregnant is a lot different than running one at 9 months preggers...lol

If the avg pregnant woman feels like sleeping for 12-16hrs a day, I will feel like sleeping 16-20hrs a day..:biggrinjester:

I am afraid of having a 10lb baby!! lol. I was 9lbs, 11.5oz, and H was 10lbs. They had to crack his mother's tailbone to get him out!! Her reward for enduring that was a shot of heroin for the procedure. She said it was lovely. Back in the early 70s in Australia, heroin was legal in hospital situations like that. I think I'll take up smoking to get a low birth weight...J/K!! :biggrinjester:

As to me wearing H out, we are not going at it like rabbits now that my fertile phase is over. :D It's been 2 days since we last did it. :svengo:

Bella--I already said you could be an honorary aunt. :) And so can anyone else--honorary uncles, too. The only stipulation is that you babysit for free. :biggrinjester: But we are getting way ahead of ourselves here, b/c I'm not even knocked up yet--as far as I know. ;)

And actually, you are ahead b/c my weight is not currently 217.5..lol. It's 224 today. :nopity:

Just ate a really tasty salad for lunch--romaine, tomato, a bit of avocado (H ate most of it in his salad), shredded mozzarella, deli turkey and olive oil vinigarette.
