LOL. The state of Mich's lower peninsula is shaped like a mitten, so the area that would be considered the thumb we refer to as "the thumb." Hence someone who lives there would say, "I live in the thumb." To us it makes perfect sense, but to you, it's quite odd. :D

Here's a map so you can see the shape--and the UP stands for Upper Peninsula, and a Yooper is someone who is from the UP in case you were wondering that, too. ;)

Excellent job making it to 219 Star!

Eeeeek, I thought we had it cold here but 40s and 30s is nothing apparently.

Have you heard from Sheryl lately?

Thanks, Cita!

Last night it was 7F when H and I came home from the fish fry. Brr...

No, I haven't heard from Sheryl. I'm assuming she's busy getting ready to move into her new house. I've been thinking about calling her.

Exercise this week:
2/18—45 min exercise bike, 15.35 miles, weight: 223
2/19—65 min circuit training, weight: 220.5
2/20—50 min circuit training, 30 min bike, 10.2 miles, weight: 220.5
2/21—50 min exercise bike, 16.7 miles, weight: 220.5
2/22—None, weight: 219 (new low)
2/23—None, weight: 221.5

Well, my weight was not pretty this am..lol. But I know the reason. :D

The fish fry was good last night. It was basically fish and chips, and I have to say, the chips were better than the fish. :D I ate them British style with vinegar. And I drank about 3 glasses of beer. It was just me, H and H's co-worker/friend, but the 3 of us had a good time. At one point though, H's friend kinda pissed me off--and I let him know it. H told me as we were driving home that when I was in the bathroom, his friend said to him, "Damn, your wife's pretty when she's angry." :D That made my night. :smilielol5:

I think last night I realized how much I do love my husband. :beating: We had a very nice time when we got home last night. ;)

I am so pleased to hear that things are going well for you - who cares about the weight not being pretty at times like that.

Have a great Saturday

Take care

Margaret and Angel--Yeah, I don't know what's gotten into him lately, but he's just been so sweet. We had a good time together again today--just getting along really well. I think I've got him talked into the London trip this summer as long as I can get decent airfare. We went to a bookstore tonight, and I got a budget travel guide for London. I've found a few decent hotels with doubles with ensuite in the 50 quid range--so that is do-able as long as I can get plane tickets for less than $800 a piece. So far I am not seeing any in June under $1,000, though. :ack2: H has a friend we met while in Korea who lives in Northern California w/his wife (who we also know) that he wants to go visit. This friend spent a good portion of his childhood in London, so I suggested they meet us in London and spend the week together there--that would be lots of fun! H wants to go to California (again), but I told him I HAD to go to London before I have a baby...lmao.

I had another bad day of eating. I didn't add up my calories, but I'm sure they were well over 2000, but under 3,000. Tomorrow will be better.

ooooh you coming down to England once again! come during wimbeldon time if you can! its always the rainiest time though those 2 weeks but its great atmosphere if you like tennis and i think you are crazy about sports!

good luck with the food today! have a great sunday

Kimmy,

Glad you enjoyed your fish dinner!! It's great to just NOT CARE what you eat that one day a week. It's even greater to feel no guilt afterwards. LOL.

Hey, hey, hey...good job working the husband. You may not know how you're doing it, but keep it up honey. You may get lucky EVERYNIGHT. Haha.

Hope you're having a good Sunday!!

Aaaghhhh...:reddevil: showed up this morning. :ack2: My weight was 224 today!!!!!!!!!! That is a 5lb gain in 2 days' time!! :ack2: I'm sure the bulk of it is water retention from :reddevil: and sodium. Eating a double cheeseburger from McDonalds just now didn't help any, either...lmao. At least I got on my bike for 30 minutes earlier today. So far I've had 2 slices of leftover pizza, 1 slice of H's birthday cake (oh, yes) and the cheeseburger. I'd say that comes to about 1,330 calories so far. So if I eat something light for dinner--say a salad--I should be under 1600-1700 for the day.

The cake is now officially gone, though. I am at my office, and brought it in. I ate one slice, and served up the other two to H and our co-worker (he works at my office and with my H--strange, but true). So it's all GONE!!!!!!! :hurray: Just in time for my b-day cake in another week. Ha!

oooh someone not been looking to the scale gods!!! i had 2 slices of pizza today after 2 hours of workout...not the best move i've made in my life but oh well!

Angelic One--yah, I know, the cake saga never seems to end..lol We'll see about Wimbledon. H is a HUGE tennis fan, and would love to go--so would I, for that matter. It is rather expensive, though--especially as the US$ being so weak. And, you have to queue up hours before the gates open just to get grounds tickets. :ack2:

So pizza isn't diet food?? Uh oh...lol

i would love to go to wimbedon---to see the final though. recently they have been great. what with Federer and Nadal. but yeh it costs loads and it is usually around the time of my exams and whatnot so i'm stuck at home revising. this year it is the week after i finish my year so it should be really good not that i will be going down to watch.

So pizza isn't diet food?? Uh oh...lol

i haven't figured out the voodoo spell yet so i can't be sure but i will let you know as soon as i do...in the meantime eat eat eat! :D

have a great week beautiful!

hi! just wanted to say hello...I noticed on your ticker that you've already lost 58 pounds, which is awesome...great work!

Hey Kimmy!!

Hope you're having a wonderful Monday, honey!!

Your greasy consumption the other day, sounds delicious, truth be told. I haven't had a double cheeseburger in a really, really long time. I'm so used to avoiding unhealthy foods.

At the Pizza Hut buffet however, I go off like a devil in a church. I go all out crazy with my tongue flailing and everything. Cinna-sticks. Those are my downfall. If I recall correctly, the last time I dinned there, I ate...wow, twelve of them. For kicks, I checked out Pizza Hut's nutrional value the other day, and found out I scarf down somewhere between 2-4,000 cals in one buffet night. But man, oh man, do I enjoy it. LOL. What's the point of this story you may ask?...Don't invite me to Pizza Hut on buffet night...I will eat out the house...or..hut, rather...haha..

YEY!! The cake saga is over!! At least now, you've no temptation other than that of your hubby himself. ;) Of course, you'll have to compose yourself till the nine-to-five workday has diminshed down to hometime. LOL.

Morning Kimberly!
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Unlike mine! YUCK!!! It's a long story. So I won't go into it here.
Funny how your cake saga is going into a continuation. Kinda like those mini-series of the 80's. LOL Remember the show V?
I asked Margaret if you guys would be willing to consider me as the 3rd player for your team. I work so much better in a group on these challenges than I do by myself.
Your fish and chips sounded so yummy. :drool5: We ended up having Mexican for our lunch yesterday after church. I made a total :piggy: of myself with the Queso Cheese! I did have a Chicken Fajita without the "sauces" but I think that the cheese and chips "outweighed" the sauce deficit. LOL
Well I am off to figure out my new food plan. I am going to try to do something similar to what Margaret does. In that I am going to stick to all the same thing thru-out the day and change up the main meal at night. I think that for now if I want to continue to see this weight come off I need to be a bit more diligent in my calorie consumption. And if that means I need to be a bit repetitive than that is what I will do.
Hope that your day is going well.
Catch ya later! :waving:

When are you planning on having a baby? Its really awesome that H is being so sweet lately. SORRY TOM is being such a Pain in the ASS. Unfortunately it happens to all of us. I have a friend who lives in London. She hates it there. I personally want to visit badly. But I don't have the money. Hope you find good plane tickets. :)

Hi Kimberly

I am pleased that things are getting better and better between you and your hubby. A happy marriage always makes the world a much better place.

Fingers crossed that you get some reasonable deals on plane tickets.

Hubby has even got round to emailing Olympic airlines about various seat size questions and has been surfing for plane ticket deals (not prompted by me) so I am hoping that our early June trip to Greece will happen too.

Sorry about the TOM - it was only to be expected. I remember that yours was not long before mine last month. Weight gain is just part of life's rich tapestry in that whole area. We all suffer it - so ignore it and it will all get ok.

Thank goodness the birthday cake saga is at an end. These things tempt us. We are fine if we dont see them - but once we know that they are in the house - they tempt us until we eat them to stop the perpetual temptation.

If I were you I would go for a fairly small birthday cake and share it with everyone (parents etc) that way you can have the pleasure of some cake for your birthday - but you dont end up having too many slices of it. If you are strong at the time of purchase - it can save you from having to be so much stronger later. Some things are impossible to resist. How about a birthday pavlova? - nice as a birthday cake but less fattening.

I must admit that the burger that you had does nothing to tempt me - but I can say that I could sometimes really fancy a nice curry. All the extras like pakoras, nans, samosas etc really appeals sometimes. I dont blame you at all for succumbing to temptation. You did really well to straighten up your calories by the end of the day. Once I started into junk food heaven / calorie hell - the outcome would not be pretty.

Do you remember that I suggested that we form a team for the next challenge? I dont think that you commented after my "thats it sorted then" type statement. Have you put any further thought to that - as a third person would be needed?

Take care
Love
Margaret
