Out of Nowhere

From Steve's Diary...
RE the football, at least you're not a Lions fan. :ack2: It is painful to watch them. And Michigan totally blew it this weekend, too. At least Mich St. won. Thank God we have the Red Wings. :D

I feel you there!! Lions fan my whole life... must be a masocist :D Michigan... not so much (Go Bucks... Sorry, live in Toledo right on the state line so my allegences fall both directions), Michigan State... Spartans are good, but REDWINGS... now your talking!! :cheers2: to a hopeful winning season for the Lions... :rotflmao:

Dawn--I've been busy, too. :) I'm still up for getting together in a couple of weeks. Especially if gas keeps going down. :D

I am agreeing with you on that one!
Not sure what kind of prices you guys are having up there but here for a while we were one of 2 highest in the whole country!!!! :svengo:
The other place Hawaii..........ya we are so hard to reach here in Indiana. Just like Hawaii. Pfft!

Hey Kimberly,

Thanks for the sweet post in my diary, and the Pat picture :) That was an excellent costume, and what a funny character he/she was on SNL. Tina Fey on there lately has been really funny. I always end up missing it and watching it online. My dad told me about some Lawrence Welk skit they did last weekend that he said was probably one the funny things he's seen on there in awhile...

Very glad to hear you don't have gestational diabetes because that would suck. Good to hear your now on an iron supplement and things should start to get better for you.

My friends and politics are my friends and politics... I just get frustrated when my friends who ARE minorities vote for a particular party that I don't feel looks out for them, and then when they talk about it and rave about what a good candidate he is I feel it makes them look ridiculous... I realized that they will never listen to me so I'm wasting my time and breath.... They sure as shit aren't changing my vote so why do I expect to change theirs?

Also glad to hear your mom is doing better :)

-Sam

hey beautiful! hope all is good. good to hear your mom is getting better. she'll probably be home sometime soon. have a good week. x

:ack2: Ugh! A *uckeye fan?? :p You should be kicked off the forum for that..lol. J/K. I'm sure they will kick Mich's ass again this year unless a miracle happens. :ack2:

Yup, another Stanley Cup would be very nice. LMAO@ the Lions having a winning season.

Filled up for $3.27 a gallon tonight! :svengo: I'm really surprised your prices are so high, as I've always found Indiana to be cheaper than Michigan.

Sam--I've been doing the same thing re SNL and Tina Fey. She is a dead ringer for Palin. I'm sure they'll have fun next Saturday with last night's debate and all the McCain/Palin mudslinging that's been going on this week.

Steve, Val and Angel--Thanks for stopping by. :)

Mom came home today--unexpectedly. She almost went straight back, as she lost her balance and fell while going up the front steps--despite my dad trying to stop her. Took the two of us and a neighbor to get her up. Thankfully, nothing is broken--but I'm sure she'll have some bruising and soreness from the fall.

UGH im sorry to hear she fell while gettin into the house and I am happier to here that she released and is home, I hope it is going to be beneficial for her!

Is it not P.C. to say "elderly people"? Because I want to say "I hate it when elderly people fall" because I do, but I also don't want to get yelled at :D My paternal (white) grandpa is 77, and he suffers a fall (he's 6') 2-4 times a year and it tears me up! I HATE it, I wish he's be careful, and he is, but he's got very skinny ankles and he's a bit top-heavy. Thankfully he does restorative Yoga, bicycles, and weight trains to keep his Type 2 diabetes in check, and I'm lucky he takes such good care of himself....but still, it breaks my heart when "elderly people" have accidents :( It makes me feel powerless to help them!

Hey Kimberly!! Glad to hear your mom is home and you and baby are doing well. Any names picked out yet?? Enjoy your pregnancy while it lasts. Next thing y ou know, you'll be throwing his/her 2nd birthday party. DEPRESSING!

My granny is 84 and imo elderly. However, my mom is only 59, so I wouldn't consider that elderly..lol. Her main problem is that she is 5'3" and weighs about 380lbs.

Sorry your grandpa falls so much. Does he use a walker or cane? That could help him keep his balance. It's dangerous for him to fall so much--he could easily break bones from it.

Well, it hasn't been pretty. She's had bad diarhea--that Dad and I have had the pleasure of cleaning up. :ack2: I had an exhausting day yesterday, and I'm getting really sick of trying to get more done in a day than seems possible. I've hardly been to the condo this week b/c I've had to deal with Mom so much. It seems neverending. Last night at 10:00 when I got back from the store from buying anti-diarhea medicine, I also got some chocolate/peanut butter candy, came home and sat outside petting the cat, stuffing my face with candy and crying b/c I'd just had it with everything. I really wish they'd sent her to rehab for awhile. It's just so hard trying to deal with all of this plus the other stuff I have going on right now. I'm feeling incredibly overwhelmed, and have no time for real estate. And David is getting on my case about swearing. Well fuck me, I'll swear if I damn well feel like it. And I feel like it all the time. Yesterday I almost engaged in road rage I was so pissed off. These hormones are something else. I'm a raging lunatic.

Hey there star :). I feel so bad for your mom that she fell when she came home, that is just horrible! So sorry to hear of your troubles right now, that is a lot of stress to be taking care of your mom while you're trying to get your place ready while being pregnant. Gosh! My mom was ill for several years and it was draining. I'm surprised they dont even send home health care? Any chance that can be arranged so she can be cared for during the day at least?

So how's the baby?!!!!! How exciting! Don't think you're not in my thoughts, cuz you and the baby sure are.

Amy--No names picked out yet. We haven't even discussed it lately. I did buy a thick baby name book a few weeks ago, but haven't really gone through it.

Claudia--Sooo good to see you around! I was wondering where you were, thinking I'd have to give you a call again. :)

They do send some home health care. She has a visiting nurse who comes several times a week for 30min to an hour. She has an occupational therapist and a physical therapist who comes a couple of times per week, and a nurse's aide who comes about every other day to help her shower. But it is all the stuff that those people don't do that I have to do--like going to the drugstore, cleaning up after her, keeping the house (and lately cooking), and misc stuff like today I had to help her fill her stool sample bottles. :puke: I nearly threw up it was so disgusting. I could never be a nurse.

Baby's fine as far as I know. I'm starting to show a bit, but I think to people who don't know I'm preggo I just look fat...lol.

Angel--Thanks for the well wishes. I could have it a lot harder--I could be dealing with Stacy's trials and tribulations. Normally this wouldn't get to me so badly, but these preggo hormones are really quite something. I'm like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde..lol.

Got a decent amount of painting done today, and will get more done tomorrow. We are getting really close to being finished with all that. I also got a great deal yesterday on kitchen cabinet knobs. They are really good quality, and I only paid 50 cents a piece at a garage sale (they're brand new). If I bought them in a store I'd have paid at least $4 each. So I'm patting myself on the back for that one. A co-worker called me yesterday and told me about the sale (I haven't exactly got time these days to run around randomly..lol). The countertop will be installed Tuesday afternoon, and once that's done, we just need to get the flooring in and then we can move in. The rest can be done while we're living there. So I think it's highly likely that we'll be in before the end of the month. I'd love to host a Halloween party. :pumpkin:
