BikiniBound's Diary

The problem with honesty is that so few of us are perfect. Rod and I always try to ignore each others little imperfections. Maybe dishonest - but it makes for harmony in the home.

I am sure that you do the same too.

I dont blame you for feeling that work is over-rated. When the opening comes up to be a professional weight loss forum surfer - a number of us will be applying for the job.

Back to work probably does suck, after the beautiful vacation you just had. This forum tends to keep my pretty busy while i'm at work, hehe. Congrats on the new low weight since you've been back.

I've been looking at Condos online today, here in SLC. There are a few I would love to get into but now is not my time... I would love to have a place of my own. I do sometimes enjoy living with my brothers but I feel more like a parent than I do a sibling most of the time. It adds unnecessary stress to my life which I don't need. I also feel like my life would possibly progress a lot more if I didn't have them as roommates. I think here soon it might me time to sever the umbilical cord i have attached to them from my makeshift gay man womb I'm so sick of, lol....

Good luck on the house search. I really hope you find something you and your hubby both like and can get into. I mean that :)

I said he decided he was going to lose a few lbs. You said you didn't think he needed to. I assured you he does. I didn't want you to think he had no extra weight to lose. His clothes do disguise it well. He certainly isn't obese, but he is at his heaviest and wants to get back into better shape. I support his decision and think it's great--especially with his family's heart history, losing the extra weight around the middle will only help his cardiovascular health. There is no criticism going on here. God knows I don't expect anyone to be perfect. :) David thought it was sweet of you to stick up for him, but assures me he isn't at all sensitive about his weight, so he really doesn't care of I comment on it. He says he wants to lose a stone.

I think you and I would be in stiff competition if that job position ever became available..lmao. :smilielol5:

Thanks Sam! I know how you feel about cutting the umbilical cord..lol. Dev and I are still sort of attached to my parents, and they are to us. They really missed us when we were gone. I think it'll be hard for them when we move out--much harder on them than us, surprisingly..lol. I think most parents couldn't wait for their adult children to move out, but b/c of their health/mobility issues, and how well we get along, they enjoy having us here.

I'm sure you'll get a condo when the time is right. Try to sock some money away here and there if you can in the meantime. It's always better to have a nest egg than scraping up the bare minimum needed to buy. :)

That's so nice that you get along so well. A real novelty sometimes.. Hopefully you'll still live close by so you can take them shopping and what not.

Good for you for getting back to 219.5. You'll be back to your recent low in no time at this rate!

Rod and I get so sensitive over matters of body shape and size that I forget that other people are not the same. I am sure that with your guidance - Dev's project should go very well.

It is great that you both get on so well with your parents. I love my parents dearly - but am always pleased to get home to my own domain. I think that there is much to be said for having your own place which is fairly close - but not too close.

In a way, it might have been better if we didn't get along so well--I think it would've pushed us to get into a position where we could afford our own place a lot faster. :D

I was at the same weight this morning, but I expect it to go down further tomorrow if I can stay on track tonight.

Brandy--Thanks! Hope you are having a good day yourself! :)

Margaret--D has never stuggled with his weight, or been seriously overweight, so he has never acquired that sensitivity to it that we have. No one ever teased him or made him feel bad about himself b/c of his weight (b/c he was never fat), so he isn't bothered by it.

I, too, love my parents dearly. But I am really looking forward to having my own place. I wish there was something close by for sale that we could afford. But, alas, there isn't. :( We will be at least a 10-20min drive from them, I think. Too bad we can't afford one of the houses across the street that are for sale.

Well it sounds like you're back on track..the Kimberley we all know and love.

Yeah, that would've been cool to get one of the houses right on the block. Daddy owns the building I live in but we have separate apartments so I'm totally independent of his space and vice versa; he has 2 floors so his is below me and I have the whole upper floor. There are also 2 tenants in the building. Works out great cuz he and the baby get to see each other a lot.

Claudia--That's great that you live so close to your dad. I'm sure La Nina will have good memories of having her grandpa so nearby. D grew up next door to his paternal grandma, and has great memories of spending tons of time, pretty much on a daily basis, at her house as a child. :)

Sam--I've been very remiss lately in celebrating TLD..lol For any TLs out there, there is some great TLD drooling material in Tyly's (daisieangel) diary. She posted some fab bikini pics of herself. :biggrinjester:

I received a shout out in your diary! How awesome of you!!! :D

Anyone who looks as good in a bikini as you do deserves a shout out. :) I need to shout out for Claudia, too--b/c she also posted some hot-ass bikini pics in her diary the other week. I'm so jealous of you both. I can only hope to be as hot as Claudia when I hit 40--hell, I wish I looked that hot when I was 30. :biggrinjester: Anyway, it's great to see how your hard work has really paid off. Well done. :)

Today was the best day I've had as far as eating and exercise goes. I've really been struggling with the eating lately. There is tons of junk food in the house, and it's been a constant struggle to avoid stuffing it in my mouth.

Great job girl on the exercise, you are a walking machine!!

If there is junk food in my house, it starts calling to me telepathically to eat it. Luckily there is no junk in the house or I'd be in the same boat. I usually try to eat it up to get it out of the way when I do have it. lol Now when I open the pantry, I hmmmm and haaaaa, and just walk away. The healthy stuff doesn't call out to me like the junk did. lol

Keep up the good work, you'll catch up with me in no time.

7/7—30 min circuit training, weight: 222, calories: 1,692
7/8—None, weight: 219.5, calories: 2,000ish
7/9—96 min walk, 6 miles, weight: 219.5, calories: 1,700ish

Had another good day. That walk should've burned some decent calories. I was pleased to avg a 16min mile. Previously my 6 mile walks were done in 100min, so I shaved 4 min off my time. Calories weren't brilliant, but weren't terrible, either.

MJB--Thanks for stopping by! I agree it's easier not to :piggy: out when there isn't anything good in the house to :piggy: out on. :D

LOL. I was wanting to :piggy: out yesterday, and kept looking around the kitchen for something worthy of :piggy:ing out on. I did find some laffy taffy left over from camping the week before last. You would have thought I found a $100 bill I was so happy.

I dont suppose that there is any chance of your parents or grandmother helping you out to get one of the houses across the street. If the finances were there (a gigantic IF - I know) it would make a lot of sense. Not only from the perspective that they would be able to rely on you as much as ever for help getting about - but also they would enjoy being close to you even more if/when the grandchildren come along. In addition - it tends to be financially sound from the inheritance tax perspective (and I cannot imagine that is any different over there - even though it is a different tax system).

As you know - I grew up in an extended family environment. I have to say that there is much to be said for it. My cousin Lesley is - without a doubt - much closer to me than any of my other cousins. Her children and grandchildren too.

I have a number of friends in Greece who are really pleased that the custom is that they have to buy a house for each daughter when she marries. They benefitted themselves from the concept when they were young. Now they have a major say in where the daughter sets up home. It is not unusual for people to buy a big block of land and build a couple of houses - one for themselves and one for the daughter. Then they sell their original house and move in.

Lol! I've been in similar situations where I'm really getting desperate...lmao.
