BikiniBound's Diary

Hey BB - I wouldnt sweat the 5lbs, like you said you can ge that off in no time!

Glad to hear you had an amazing time and wow to all you squeezed in and good to H for all the driving!!!

WELCOME BACK!!!

Man oh man did that sound like an amazing trip. That's one you won't be forgetting anytime soon, huh. Glad you're back safe and sound!

Brandy--The black pudding was actually pretty tasty. If you didn't know what was in it, you'd probably like it. :biggrinjester: I don't like narrow roads, either. That, along with driving a stick shift on the other side of the road was enough to make H do all the driving. He didn't mind, though. :)

Sam--If that was your home address, I'm sure you'll get the pc. I wasn't sure if it was work or what. H is to be congratulated for all that driving. That's a little over 284 miles per day on average. But let's not forget my awesome navigating. :biggrinjester:

Margaret--Never underestimate my powers of doing more than should be done on a vacation. :biggrinjester: We would've loved to have extended the stay again, but it would've been a lot of $$. Next time H wants to spend a whole week in Cornwall. H has just informed me that he would prefer that I refer to him here as "Big Dave" instead of H.

Cerella--Yeah, I'm not sweating the weight--especially as it was down 2lbs today. I did no exercise yesterday, and didn't watch my eating either. I did have salmon, though. ;) to Margaret..lol. I am pretty sure it was all the bathroom action I had yesterday. :biggrinjester:

Claudia--I dunno if I'm that much fun to travel with. Big Dave was getting sick of my bitching on the plane. :D But we did get along really well during the rest of the trip. :)

Steve--we won't be forgetting that trip, I'm sure...lol. It seems strange to be back, actually. Trying to get back into the swing of things.

That's great that you and Big Dave got along so well on the trip. He really does sound like your type of man, I'm glad you worked things out with him. Funny that my H is also named David.

Did you stay on track yesterday!!!??? I hope you at least hit your exercise bike.

Kimmy, you're so much fun!! I love how you just said that you lost two pounds by 'sinking the bismark' down your toilet. That was great hon, thanks for the laugh!! LOL.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip anyway. And I'm with Marg on this one. Five pounds is nothing for vacay gain. Ten pounds, now that would have been an awe factor. You'll lose the remaining three in no time. It really does get easier for us to understand how soon we drop weight as we get more in-tune with our bodies during this constant struggle of up and down on the scale. I've got faith in you though, sweetie.

Oh and ugh, congrats on still liking your husband after such a long trip. Haha. LOL.

Big hugs to you, honey!!

Hi Kimberly

I think that it is great that Big Dave wants his name to be common knowledge. It is so much more personal than H. Anyway - if we all referred to our husbands as H - they would get all jumbled up. I am not sure how Dave acquires "Big" as that would imply that Rod is small in comparison!!!! Not a term that leaps to mind!!!!

How many husbands called Dave are there on this forum!!!!? It is beginning to look like pretty much all the husbands are called Dave one way or another! As discussed - even Rod has David as his middle name.

It is great that Big Dave is now thinking in terms of his next visit to England. It would appear that he has caught your wish to spend more time here.

I am pleased to hear that the scales are coming down too. Salmon is always a good idea. We will have some tonight (Monday).

I can say that I used to quite like black pudding when I was a small child - I thought of it just as meat. I got put off the notion of eating it when I discovered exactly what it was. I dont think that I have eaten it since.

I am sure that getting back to work will be a major shock for your system after the time away. I hope that it goes well and the people that were handling your work in your absence have made a good job of it.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Cita and Margaret--There certainly are a lot of husbands named Dave or David on this forum. Mine, Claudia's, Kim's, Stacy's just to name a few that I can think of..lol. I actually call him Dev, so I guess I'll just refer to him as that from now on.

Margaret--It is funny to call him "big" as he really isn't big--well, he is in one area. :smilielol5: That'll make him happy. :D He is on a weight loss agenda now that we are back. He wants to lose 20lbs. Really, he just needs to lose some from his gut. The rest is fine.

I can assure you that if we were to buy and flip a house quickly and make decent $$ of it, we would probably take another trip to the UK..lol Dev is keen on it. (I typed H out of habit and had to delete it and type Dev...lmao).

Claudia--We do get along pretty well these days, and we do have a lot of things in common--especially in the things we like to do on vacation--try the local foods, visit museums and galleries, walk (hahaha) and enjoy the scenery. Neither one of us are big beach bums. I'd rather go to Europe anyday over the Carribbean (in fact I've never been there). We have agreed that we'd like to take a Carribbean cruise, though.

Rae--Glad I could make you laugh. My parents thought that was pretty funny, too. However, I gained most of it back. :cuss: So this answers Claudia's question--no I didn't stay on track, but I did get on my exercise bike for 34 min yesterday. Weight was 222 today, up 1.5lbs from Saturday. :ack2: Today, however, I am logging my food into fitday for the first time since before we left for Britain. When I do that, it helps me keep my calories down b/c I cannot deny what they really are. :angelsad2: I also intend on hitting the gym and possibly going for a walk later on if it isn't storming out.

Trevor--it has been ages. I was just wondering the other day where you were, and was going to ask Rae if she'd heard from you lately. :)

I wish we'd have a storm or two. Yesterday it was cloudy and it put me in a good mood. I am weird like that. I like the rain, wind and clouds :)

Intervention is probably my favorite show on TV... I watch every episode, re watch them, etc. There have been a few that have actually taken place in UT and my bros actually knew one girl from their highschool that was featured in one episode. Given the religion, etc. here I think they should devote a whole section of their show just to UT. There are many closet addicts here, you would not believe... I love the happy endings, and people changing their lives for the better. It is especially hard for me to watch the women who are mothers and alcoholics. It brings back some memories from childhood that were pretty rough. But, when they get help and succeed in conquering their addiction, in some weird f-ed up way, I feel like it helps me heal to watch that, and see them get better because, my mother never did...

Lots of work does mean lots of $$$ but, at the same time, my summer is almost over and I have yet to really do anything because I've been so busy covering for everyone at my work. I'm like "hey, when the hell is it my turn to take some time off you assholes, lol"? I do need the money though, and I'm glad to have a good job, even if the hours get out of control sometimes...

-Sam

Welcome back! Your trip sounds phenomenal.

We are considering heading to Central America sometime in '09. Hopefully we'll be able to. I need some adventure in my life!

Maybe I should get you to plan the trip.

He is on a weight loss agenda now that we are back. He wants to lose 20lbs. Really, he just needs to lose some from his gut. The rest is fine.

I cannot believe that he has weight to lose - he is perfectly fine to start with. It will be nice if he joins you for a while as he will only appreciate your hard work all the more.

Plenty of thunder and lightening here at the minute too. It has rained (quite heavily) all day (thank goodness I have now joined the treadmill owning elite).

Sam--I think that if you find that show cathartic, it only does you good. :)

You'll have to make sure you get some vacation time--b/c once you start nursing school, I'm sure your free time will be even more limited. Make sure you get a last hurrah in before school starts up!

Amber--it was a great trip. I have never been to Central or South America, so I don't know how much help I'd be in planning..lol. Besides that, I'd cram in so much, that you'd both need another vacation just to recover from the exhaustion of the first one. :D

Margaret--you have not seen Dev naked. He definitely has some love handles and a gut he needs to get rid off. His clothes are very good at hiding it. :)

Sounds like we are having similar weather today.

Today was the best day I've had as far as eating and exercise goes. I've really been struggling with the eating lately. There is tons of junk food in the house, and it's been a constant struggle to avoid stuffing it in my mouth. I think my body is used to eating a lot while in Britain, and isn't keen on a reduction. Or maybe it's just me who feels that way.

Hey Star :). All that junk will be there down the road, but for now PUT IT DOWN. Step away from the _______ (fill in favorite junk food here). It's time to get below 200! Can I make a suggestion for cutting your appetite? Go low-carb (only fruits and veggies but no bread, potatoe, rice or pasta) for a few days. It really does work well to cut the appetite and get you back on track.

Have a nice day :).

Margaret--you have not seen Dev naked. He definitely has some love handles and a gut he needs to get rid off. His clothes are very good at hiding it.

It's a good job that Rod isnt as critical of my naked body as you are of Dev. Rod would have traded me in decades ago if he was.

I can second Claudias suggestion of cutting out bread, rice and pasta for a while. I try to have none of those (although we all know that I sometimes fail when it comes to the bread). Cutting potatoes can be good too - I have recently reintroduced baked potatoes - but rarely have it in any other form.

Give it a go and see how it works for you.

You neednt worry about it ending up as low carb and your skin suffering for lack of food hydration. Between cereals, fruit and veg I end up with more than enough carbs.

Hey BB! Thanks for the compliments in my diary.

I'm with Cita, lots of protein always keeps my hunger at bay. Just whatever works for you! It's got to be hard to not control what kind of food is brought into your home, that's gotta suck.

Are you and Cita still coming to LR this summer???????

Claudia--I will try that suggestion. I don't usually eat much in the way of those kind of carbs when I'm on the straight and narrow anyway--but I refuse to give up my 12 grain bread with 6g of fiber per slice..lol But giving up those things...well those are the things that are tempting me, so easier said than done.

Margaret--I didn't mean those things in a critical way--just being honest. I mean, I'm not gonna lie and say he doesn't need to lose weight. He wouldn't mince words with me, either. I wouldn't expect him to say I don't need to lose anymore when I clearly do.

Amy--I wasn't planning on coming down in summer--unless September is still technically summer in LR..lol. I have a sneaking suspicion it will still be bloody hot down there then. :ack2: I meant every word I said in your diary. :)

My weight was down to 219.5--the lowest since i've been back. Haven't been bad today yet. Yet...:blush5: Will do my best to behave. There is less junk in the house due to most of it being eaten (not all by me!).

I need to put the house search into high gear--if only to keep the junk food out of my house. :ack2:

It really sucks being back to work. I wish I could be on a permanent vacation. Haha--who wouldn't right? Well, I actually know people who would go crazy if they didn't have work to keep them busy. I am not one of those people. I can find plenty of ways to keep myself busy--like this forum for instance. :D
