bigger...for football

im 14..5 '4" about 105 pds and im pretty small for 14...and i need to know how to get stronger for football...that way i wont get killed on the field.i need to start now so tips are good asap.ty

Woa, I thought I was small. (5'9, 155 pounds). If you want to gain weight (assumming most of it being muscle) you should eat 500-1000 more calories everyday of your daily calorie intake levels (the number of calories that maintain your weight). If you do this (while weight training) you should be able to gain a pound or two of muscle. Fat will go along with it also. Hope this helps.

Eat five eggs a day every day.
Do three hundred push ups a day every day (I know you cant do 300- do ten sets of thirty or thirty sets of ten or something)
300 squats each day every day
Eat oatmeal or potatoes at the start of your day every day
Eat at least four carrots each day
And lift weights like crazy!

This diet is actually very cheap and even if your parents are dirt poor you should have no problem getting this out of them especially since it is healthy.

yea...i'll do the push ups, but i dont know about the squats. i dont go to the gym.maybe instead running and sit ups.and i'll curl for bycepts.push ups whould work for tricepts and boob area

I'm not sure where you're getting these ideas. If you do 300 push ups a day and lift weights, you'll overwork your body. Not to mention that 300 push ups a day, will NOT help you with football, maybe with martial arts, but definatly not much else. Same deal with squats. I'm not trying to be negative, but I think you need to do some more research before suggesting things.

Well what position are you trying out for? That could affect how you train. Depending on how fast you are, you could maybe be a safety, or perhaps a QB if you can throw. You're kinda limited due to your size. Your diet should consist of 6-7 meals, all with their own serving of protein. You should be aiming for 1gram of protein per lb of body weight. Eat anything and everything in sight, you're definatly an ecto.

I would suggest a full body routine for the first few weeks, mostly focusing on: Squats, Deads, Rows, and Bench.. And once you've got a good foundation, I would ask the strength coach at school (as well as do some of your own research) to show you how to do some oly lifts. Good luck, anything else post here! :)

300 squats everyday lol, good luck with that.....
just eat eat eat, healthy low fat\high protein foods,
concentrate on deadlifts, shoulder presses, bench press, and squats.

I appriciate the criticism. I recommended the pushups because I got the impression that Happy01 is worried about making the team and in tryouts that is one of the big things that coaches look at. 300 a day is not nearly as tough as it sounds if you break it up into smaller peices. 300 squats is actually ridiculously easy once you get the hang of it. I guess I'm just trying to give him positive things to work on that are not too hard. This is why I kept the dietary guidlines simple with dense calories and loads of quality protein. I have never met a fourteen year old that knew enough about nutrition to read a label and most fourteen year olds have a hard time getting their parents to buy food more expensive than ramen. This is something that he can do.

At 100 lbs he has a long way to go if he wants to build mass. You are probably right about push ups not being good for football. It is something I always wondered about. I just always heard that football players do lots and lots of push ups and the best way to get good at them is to do a lot of them. If this is wrong and football players don't do then then disregard.

Typically, your football coach is going to have you do the BFS program (bigger, faster, stronger) which is basically squat, power clean, and bench.

Happy, I would get a weight set for your backyard or try and get your parents to get you to go to the gym. If neither are feasible then try and make a sandbag (sand thrown in a duffel bag) and you can use this for various exercises.

no criticisms intended :)

but i dont think id be in a position to go for football after a workout like that :D

is five eggs really necessary for a bodybuilder

i mean split your egg intake in two to three servings with 2 eggs each serve is ok

but i see some guys take about 9 to 10 eggs a day isnt that 'overindulgence'

Stick to egg whites, 1 yolk/4 or 5 whites is okay.. Depends on your overall fat intake. You can never get enough egg whites.

ok. my dad has a bench all all that...but they are them rubber strecth weights. he was big at 1 time but i wanted to here wut u guys had to say.

I don't dig stretch weights. Use whatever you've got though.
I reccommended five eggs because you are so small. If you were bigger I would definately have reccommended more. And feel free to throw in chunks of meat and veggies
