Day 1

Hope this isnt cheating or lazy.. But heres my SS of day one
Getting back on track and feeling very, very hungry :(

I do not track my exercise or adjust my food intake based on exercise I do, but today was 20 minutes HIIT workout, first workout in a few weeks. Cut short as I dont want to push myself too hard whilst getting over the flu (hence the lozenge)

:)

**Edit** looking at it after posting, look at all the junk food ha! embarassing

Hi, Big W & welcome to the forum. This is your diary. You tell us whatever you like, be as "lazy" as you like. There are few rules. All of our diaries are different.
There is also no need to be embarrassed about the junk food. Obviously replacing junk food with healthier options would be a good idea. Once again, a great big welcome :)

Day 2 was not as good as Day 1.. infact it was a horrible day in general..
I knew it was a bad idea to start the diet 1 day before my best mates party..

The day started off very well.. Woke up at midnight, went to the gym.. on my way back from the gym a bunch of backpackers hopped in the elevator.. a very concerned girl asked me if I was alright.. then they noticed my gym gear and the concerns of why i was out of breath and drenched in sweat disappeared.

The day was followed with work and an ok eating, until after work where I had to stop for a quick meal after, followed with a quick power nap before heading out for birthday celebrations.

I limited myself to 4 beers and they are randomly tracked cause I really have no idea.. As for the food I ate at dinner time well.. again I am no good at tracking calories for takeout, so I normally just assume the absolute worst.. So are my calories as high as the tracking states... probably.. today was a one off... early cheat.. but yeah not planning on this being the norm.

After the party it was back home for another quick power nap before heading out to at 3am.. joys of a shift worker

Random thought: Not sure if I am gonna keep this diary as a daily thing.. I might condense it into a weekly recap after the first week

Oh and also lost 1kg in a day... (i know its mostly water weight but dont ruin this for me)

Have a good one

-Big W

Hey and welcome! Good job on hitting the gym. It was nice of the strangers to be concerned, don't feel self-conscious about that.

Don't think of it as starting a diet, but instead just making healthier choices. Looks like you did that today by limiting your drinks and getting a good, sweaty workout in.

I have no idea what time it is, so if you're waking up - have an awesome day, if you're going to bed - have a great rest! :)

The good people on here made me realize that I need to be proud of any weight lost, even water weight!

:iagree: with all that Liz said.
Give yourself a little bit of slack. Tell us what you want, when you want, This shouldn't be a chore. We are now part of your team, xo

Yup, all of the above. Well done getting up early to go to the gym before the party and very well done limiting your beer intake. Pretty sure that means you ate less than you otherwise would have. That´s progress!

Hey all, just a quick log on progress
The last few days have been quite busy with lots of work and sleep.
I did hit an injury so had to restrict exercise to light stuff, which has meant no lifting or HIIT. Just starting the last two days with incline treadmill walking to start the day
Here is the recap of week 1, and I think ill keep posting like this for now.

Week 1, down 1kg.. however naturally the scales tell a different story at different times of the day so its really, in my opinion too soon to tell.

Thanks everyone for the kind words

Congratulations on your first kilo lost. Most folks weigh first thing in the morning after having gone to the toilet to make circumstances as similar as possible. Of course sodium intake, muscle ache and gut filling will also have influence but it´s the best you can do without getting obsessive. Hope your injury heals quickly!

Almost skipped the gym today, then realised today is one week since I joined up here and started heading towards my new goals.
So I went, did 25 mins on the treadmill with an intense uphill walk to start the day
Since I hurt myself I have been taking it easy this week, and easing back into it with some medium exercise.

The eating has been pretty good, not great, but good. With that one party week in the first week, and also a semi cheat day where I had lunch with the boys and they told me to try this "amazing" burger... which was deadset awful..

Also my app says 1800cal per day but im keeping it at around 2000 right now which I am ok with.. I am also not including my workouts in my calorie count, which is what I did the first time I took weightloss seriously. It worked, but there were big stretches of no results (im talking in the months) as a result of it.

Overall progress so far, well its hard to tell.. Yesterday was 110.4KG, today was 111.0KG, so quite a large jump... but down 0.7 since last week, so its results.. but honestly too soon to tell exactly how my progress is going.. Guess ill give it a few more weeks :)

Well done getting a workout in when you weren´t really feeling it! I hope that means you´re feeling better. Gross fast food can be really helpful in getting rid of the cravings :p About the weight fluctuations: You can weigh every day and learn how much your body likes change from day to day or you could decide to weigh only once a week or even once a month. Everyone is different so there´s no single strategy which works for everyone. Best of luck!

Getting a workout in when you didn't feel like it is definitely a win. It seems like you are getting into the swing of things :)

My injury is now good and gone.. Got back into the heavy hardcore stuff
Also did my first glamour muscle workout today, bi's, tri's and shoulders

Hopped on the scale, down to 109.2 pre workout and 109.3 post workout, this was also after having breakfast only an hour before... so this was a welcome start to the day

Have a feeling the low will be short lived, given the progress over the past week.. however am still pretty happy with the results

As for the eating... well.. it was good, again not great.. I ate too much, as monday was kinda bad, going out with friends, they ordered a burger which was.. two meat patties, american cheese (probably just regular cheese to you americans), some sauce forget which type, bacon, but with no bread roll.. cause carbs..... just kidding instead of a bread roll it was a glazed donut.. DO NOT RECOMMEND! not because it was bad... but seriously it was it was so disgusting I couldnt finish it.

Although the food intake didnt look outstanding... I kinda justify it because this tracking of calories didnt include the amount of exercise I added in during the week

so yeah.. recap
Starting weight: 111.7kg
Current weight: 109.2kg
down 2.5kg in around 11 days :O

I used to love glazed donuts as a teen and I love sweet/savory combinations but your description of that burger makes me want to puke more than I could eat in a week. On the other hand: being able to not finish food when it´s either not satisfying or you´re full is a great life skill.
