Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

Ha ha. There is always something better right over the horizon. Just like computer, huh? Once you make a decision there is the next great improvement. At least with cameras the lenses are compatible, at least within a particular brand.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. You could be waiting for "that next one comming out..." for the next 20 years! :D I really think I'd be happy with any of the Nikon DSLRs. Even the D40 and D60 are nice. I'll be pulling the trigger soon, maybe with some Christmas funds!

Hey Teams!

I went ahead and decided to post this weeks bonus (since no one is checking who's turn it is anymore. lol).

Since it's posted late, this bonus will go into effect MONDAY (10/27/08). That's 5 days to rack up some points! By now, the strong have survived and are still participating in this challenge. We can handle this! The weak are gone, so no excuses for not being able to get your exercise on!

Week 20: SUPER BONUS Challenge 10/25/08-10/31/08

-Each day that you perform an additional 30 minutes of exercise (on top of the regular hour of exercise each day) give yourself 1 extra point (both exercise and weights times count). NO MAX POINTS, so you can really go for it this week and make up some ground by being able to get unlimited exercise points!!!:jump:

So I had a revelation today... I realized that lately I've been battling food by the week. Focusing on a supposed "majority" of healthy meals, and a few cheat meals mixed in. I realized that trying to focus on health this way was more difficult for me. I let myself get away with way too many unhealthy decisions. It's back to a daily battle for me. Making healthy decisions at every meal and not "writing off" the bad meals so easily. Mind you I'm still eating good :D.

Breakfast: 2 eggs and some turkey bacon
AM snack: banana
Lunch: Wholegrain pasta(the barilla stuff) with a cabernet marsala and Turkey sausage
PM snack: Almonds and Whey Protein shake

That's probably it for the day. Maybe a glass of milk before bed.

I live to fight another day. :D

I'm with ya on the "daily battle" concept. It really is too easy to write off a couple bad meals when you don't focus on the individual daily totals so much.

I've been doing a LOT of writing off lately, so my plateau is sitting right where it is...

Hey Mac, thanks for stoppin' by my place.. I agree on the one day at a time theory... Since I've been tracking my food in MyPlate, I realize just how many calories I was actually consuming... I'm lucky I'm not much bigger than I am... You can do it! :hurray:

Exactly! RC you're definitely one person around here that can really see things from my perspective... or should I say our perspective? haha

Time to buckle down and really focus on making it healthy day by day. There are no plateaus.... just bad decisions, or lackluster effort. I will overcome! :biggrinjester:

I wish I had the time to track all my calories. I'm just really bad at doing stuff like that. I pretty much track things in my head all day though. Like today was about 2100 calories and 180g protein.

OH, this is too cute :D Yes, I agree about the daily struggle! I've totally stalled at my current weight and it's all due to not being able to diet. Nice with the tracking cals in yo head :)

Hehe, thanks... glad to know that my weight loss efforts are cute. :D

Yeah, I realized that's why I was stalled too. So I had that revelation and am doing a lot better now. Realized that I needed to make healthier decisions and get in more protein. I've always been really good at math. For some reason I'm really good with numbers in my head. I scored like 40 points from perfect on the SAT math section back in HS, haha.

Thanks CG and Tru! :D

Breakfast: 2eggs, turkey bacon, whole wheat english muffin with natural pb
AM snack: Grapefruit, almonds
Post-workout: Whey shake
Dinner: Turkey sandwich on whole wheat, lots of veggies
PM Snack: 10oz lowfat milk, almonds

Was down three pounds today on the scale but it was pounds that I fluctuated up so they didn't really count. Nice to be headed in the right direction though with some better food decisions. I've been in the 270s far too long. It's time to crash through to the 260s.

I'm with ya man, I'm so sick of seeing the same damn numbers on the scale... Made a couple of minor changes in diet this week, gonna see how it goes come Monday's weigh in. Mostly just getting rid of impulse food...

I have to say that I read the first few pages of your diary and then the last few and I'm astounded by what you've done! Congrats, keep up the good work. It's amazing!

I'm also ashamed to say at my starting weight, I weigh almost as much as you do at your starting weight, and I'm only 5' 5", and on top of that, a woman! Aye aye aye!
