Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

I have to say that I read the first few pages of your diary and then the last few and I'm astounded by what you've done! Congrats, keep up the good work. It's amazing!

I'm also ashamed to say at my starting weight, I weigh almost as much as you do at your starting weight, and I'm only 5' 5", and on top of that, a woman! Aye aye aye!

Heh, it'd be a long read if you did all the way through. I'm sure it would be amusing though, with all of the silly conversations we've had. Thank you! I'm still surprised when people talk about what I've accomplished. I really don't feel like I've done that much. I just made a few healthier decisions, and more or less stuck to them. The weight went off on it's own.

It's tough isn't it? When I first got on the scale it said Err0r... Imagine how I felt, haha. We all have to start somewhere... my advice would be to make some basic healthy decisions. If you make a few ground rules for a healthy lifestyle, the weight will fly right off. A few of mine were; water, cutting out fast food, watching portion size, a switch from simple to complex carbs, and a more active lifestyle. I'm sure you'll do great as long as you realize that loosing weight isn't about a diet, it's about choosing a healthy lifestyle.

I'm with ya man, I'm so sick of seeing the same damn numbers on the scale... Made a couple of minor changes in diet this week, gonna see how it goes come Monday's weigh in. Mostly just getting rid of impulse food...

I hear ya man. Sometimes I think there is someone on the other side of that scale punching in numbers just to get a reaction outta me :D. I made some major changes so we'll see where that takes me. Really want to hit 100lbs before 2009, lets do it man!

100 lbs by '09 Damn, thats a lofty goal! Shit I'd have to lose 29 lbs in 2 months! I'm gonna dial that goal back a bit. I'd like to be under 300 by '09. Gonna have to step up my game for that one though too. We'll see...

Heh, didn't really think about that one. I thought you were closer than you were. With how fast you caught up... :D

Breaking the 300 mark would def be a great goal. I know you can do it. All we gotta do is focus and really think about what we're putting on our plates.

Yeah I was doing good for a little bit, but then I sorta stalled out and lost some steam. I'ts all good though, I'm pushing a little more this week, got some of my motivation back. We'll see what happens.

Same thing happened to me. I think it happens to everyone now and then. It's time to re-focus and kick some ass though :D. Checking out the Before & After thread gets me really motivated sometimes.

OOH I can visualize that little bastard right now! I KNOW he MUST be in my scale! 149...nope 153.... J/K 149... nope 152 WTF!!! Little dummy.:smash:

I'm glad to know that you guys go through the same thing! Wow, crazy night... made a few bad decisions tonight but portion control was in mind so I'm ok. I've really done well this week!

Breakfast: 2eggs Whole wheat english muffin, grapefruit
Snack1: protein shake and almonds
Lunch: 6" chicken sandwich on wheat, lots of veggies (I love jalapenos)
Dinner: Italian baked Chicken, couscous, mixed greens salad
Snack2: 1 boneless chicken wing habanero pepper sauce, a few drinks

Thanks for posting in my thread. I appreciate all comments and advice. What you have done on here so far has been incredible. I don't know about the "slow down" in drive you are talking about yet (It's only been around 5 weeks for me), but I think if or when it happens, I'll set some sort of new challenge goal, or start something new that I really want to do... boxing... ju jitsu ???? Not to sure, or maybe a physical challenge like the "Catch Trops and his jump rope" Challenge??? Just some random thoughts. Good to see the diet is going well again... I HAVE to think about food DAILY as well.

No problem man! Yeah I didn't loose motivation till after a few months when it got harder to loose. :D I'm back in the game though. Catching Trops on the jump rope would put me in the grave. It is nice to give yourself a variety in your workout though. The same things over and over can become monotonous.

Hey big boy! :waving:

LOL-- "a few drinks"

Nice scale reading--did you do your HIIT? I managed some hardcore cross country running and a few sprints, then Yoga after. It was all good in da hood! My only problems were bloating (you know why) and some vegetable tempura. Other than that, it was a good day!

Woooo! Go you! I'd LOVE to be at 269! Am I jealous? A little bit... but along with that comes knowing that if you can do it, I can do it! Yay!

I don't own a scale at home. I'd drive myself nucking futs if I did! BTW, what kind of protein powder do you use? I'm using some cheap whey protein powder I got from the grocery store. I'm going to upgrade when I get paid!

I don't know about that. Your 2 hour basketball stints followed by HIIT and a lift, adding in some jump rope would be a walk in the park for you. :cheers2:

(Yeah, I was looking at that "a few drinks" with a questioning eye, too.)

Hey little girl!

Yup, a few :D

I've been doing a lot of HIIT on the elliptical. 1.5min jog/1min sprint intervals. I've had some bloating in the last few weeks too but I think that was from eating salty foods. :D

Oh, I love it! I was in the 270s FOREVER! Was my own fault for eating bad but it's nice to know that when I make the right decisions I do reap the benefits.

I try not to weigh myself all the time. Usually just twice a week. I like doing that because it lets me know where I am. Also, if I see a big number then I workout even harder... so sometimes the negative results are a motivator to me.

As far as whey goes I don't really know that much. There are probably better people to ask like Steve. I really like the Bodytech protein from Vitamin Shoppe. I usually just look for whey that is low carb and low sugar.
