Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

Yeah, when the gym makes me angry I just hit it harder. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to go to Vegas with the job transition I had, we'll see what happens. I really want to go. I've lost the most weight in the whole comp and really have been a leader the whole time. Sucks to be the mule following the carrot and never get it :D. Oh well, 30 some odd pounds is something to be proud of that's for sure. I think I'm getting close to 40 for the challenge.

Cute, I've always like the image of an horsey trying to get a carrot on a string!

I think you might break hearts if you don't go to Vegas

Try something new--or watch your nutrition more closely to get to 40 :D

Thanks! I wish this last 40 would just melt away but it seems I'll need push a little harder.

Do I ever hear that!

Doesn't it seem like you can make a simple change in the beginning like switching from soda to water and lose 20 lbs like nothing? then once you get halfway through you have to bust your ass for every measly friggin' ounce?

It's the "half life" theory. How ever much energy it takes to lose half the weight to your goal, is the amount it takes to lose half of what's left. So if you have 100 pounds to lose and it takes an effort of X to lose 50 pounds, it will take X to lose the next 25. Then an additional X to lose the next 12.5, and so on. Also, the inverse is true. Whatever is pulling you away from eating right and getting your exercise, is twice as strong.

Haha, I'll break hearts if I do go ;). Kidding :D

Like I said, I really want to... but it just might not be a possibility for me right now.

I really do need to watch my nutrition better. I've kinda gotten out of my routine. I need some new recipes.

Ugh, ya don't have to tell me. It's ok though... the changes I've made are for life. So I'm just enjoying the journey right now. Doesn't feel as rewarding as it used to though, you are right about that.

Haha, thats good stuff Trops... its kinda like my age theory. Whenever anyone talks about how fast time has gone by recently I explain that it's all relative to the ammount of time you've been alive. When you were a child at 10 years old, a summer lasted forever because a year was 10% of your life so those few months seemed to last forever. Now if we even turn our heads for a minute then summer is gone. Like I say... its all relative. :D

Its really amazing how fast men loose their pounds...

:banghead: Ugh! If I had a nickle every time I heard this, I'd have a buck or two. Nothing against you, Cypermama. I just think that it's unfair to discount all the work that Shaun is doing. Those basketball sessions are killer. Running full speed, stopping on a dime, jumping all around, back and forth, it's a hell of a workout. Then to follow it up in the weight room. Fast, perhaps, but so much work goes into it.

I personally think it's very difficult to lose weight. I'm going all day and still hitting the gym and watching what I eat and one little slip up and the scale goes up. Anything less then perfection and it's lost ground. I'll look at what I'm eating when I'm starving myself and what my wife eats, and I'm still eating more. "How can you eat just that? Aren't you hungry?" I mean, really, is eating 4 potato chips a snack that keeps you going till diner? :cuss:

Sorry... maybe I should refine that... Its amazing what men go through that results on how fast they lost their pounds... :p

Not just being men... I guess because you guys are tougher and more active in general... pounds shed faster... ofcourse, nothing to do just being genetically men, maybe so but not all aspect of it... lol

Sorry...

I've worked really hard at it, that's for sure. The gym has been the bearer of my blood, sweat, and tears so to speak, haha.

I need to start one of those Before/After threads. It's harder to tell a pound loss on a guy my size but 80lbs is def noticeable.

Haha, I couldn't agree with you more on this. I just brush it off because it's such a common stereotype. It does sometimes seem like a "lessening" of my effort though. I know they don't mean it that way though. :blush5:

Hey, Shaun. Did you ever get you D80?

Not yet Trops! I saw the D90 thats just starting to come out with the HD-video mode and I'm really not sure what I want to do. Typical "afraid to pull the trigger" thing. I'm really wanting one though.
