Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

P90X is

I'm interested to hear what you think about the workouts. I've done a few. I suppose your perception of it depends on what you're used to.

Haha, hijack as much as ya like. Lord knows I haven't been using this thing much lately. The back pain is almost gone though, can't wait to get started on P90x in addition to some more gym time.

Good luck. From what I have heard of the program you may not have much left for the gym. Apparently its a real ass kicker.

I used to do P90 when I was like 17. Obviously I was so young and didn't have nearly as much willpower to continue them. I find that tae bo is much more intense and gives me a great workout. Mind you I haven't tried the PX90, or even seen clips of the workouts.

Haha, well I'm glad you came back. Still working on getting that back healthy. I think I pushed it too much the other day at the gym and sent it back to square one. Just resistance bands and walking walking for me until this back heals up.

Hey Mac, I'm sorry to hear you are hurting. Happens to the best of us. LOL Seems like the more we push ourselves the more we open ourself up to injuries. But I kind of like it...the pain reminds me that I really am challenging my body harder than I ever have...there is a small price to pay to being healthy and fit :)

Rest up and keep up the great work. Your consistent weight loss is impressive. Keep going!! OOUUUU!!

Hey Steve, I'm excited to get started on them. Plan on starting monday. Some guys at work are doing it and say they're hurting like crazy. I don't think they worked out at all before them though, I think after my last 5months of almost daily workouts I should be alright. It soulds to me like a simon says of intense jumpin around and resistance training. I think it will be good for me and stoke some fire under my "average workouts" where I don't really go outside the box.

Glad the back pain is almost gone. I am bothered by the back of my knee preventing flexibility at the moment....grrrrrrrr

Yes, me too. I'm taking it easy to make sure I dont stress it before it's healed but I'm starting back on "hardcore" training tommorow. The hot tub helped so much with the back.

Sounds really intense from what the guys at work said. They aren't strong Canadians like me though :).

Yeah, it does seem to happen. I think my body loves to be pushed, sometimes it's just askin for a break though. :D Seems like being healthy is a continuous cycle of pushing and recovering. :smilielol5:

On a personal note, I'd like to say hello to the 270's. Hey! You won't last long but enjoy your time with the Shaun-meister. :seeya:

Shaun, you are amazing. Even with a hurt back and limited exercise, you are still able to pull out some big numbers. Way to go, brother! :sifone:

Hey Mac!! Sorry I havent visisted in a while... glad to hear the back pain is getting better!!!

I think like most I want details about p90x... Stephen and I have been eyeballing it for over a year now, but just haven't made the purchase yet.

Just wanted to say congrats on the 75 pounds. Your "it's a lifestyle change" atitude is great, and one I plan to adopt. Thanks for sharing your experiences for people to learn from. My goal is 100 pounds, and your story, as well as others here make me think it's attainable.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the congratulatory comments. :D

Today was day 1 P90X. All I have to say is, damn that is rough. It really wears ya out, keeps you active. They just throw a few 30sec breaks in there but it's pretty much an hour of non-stop cardio and resistance. Today was chest and back. Did like 5 different kinds of push-ups.

JZ, glad to see ya stop by. I wouldn't say I'm there yet, but its nice to know i can inspire others.
